Greenlee had a routine. She did it every morning and she liked it. Of course having a routine was hard with someone like Rafe who had an appetite she had never seen before, but she was enjoying it. How could she not. She was getting all the attention she ever wanted and craved. Greenlee was falling for him fast. She was that kind of girl who fell hard and fast.
Greenlee got up and took a shower. She picked a simple outfit. Most of her outfits were simple. Today she choose sandals, jeans, and a red tank top. No suspenders or hat today. Just a simple outfit for the nice warm weather outside. She made her way to school and to the office as usual. "Hi everyone." She said to the ladies in the office. Each of them said Hi back.
"Greenlee you showed up just in time, I need these files to be taken to the Guidance Counselors office, okay."
Greenlee smiled and took the files, "Right away." She told the lady. Greenlee liked this job. It was fun. She did it every day before and after school. She placed her book bag down and took the files. She left the office and headed toward the Guidance counselor. She was humming along with a skip in her step as she rounded a corner.
Of course when skipping Greenlee did not look down and she skipped a little too late and her feet got caught on someone else's feet. Someone who had chosen to sit on the floor with their legs stretched out. Greenlee fell face first on the ground, the papers sliding all over the floor. Her face flushed red with embarrassment as she moved to her knees and looked down. Her face hurt from the face plant, and her knees hurt. She actually wanted to cry from the embarrassment since people laughed at her as they walked by.
Instead she stayed quiet, took a few deep breaths and started to slowly pick up the files.

Takumi read on... engrossed in the manga novel. It was starting to get interesting... The heroine was poised to have her life's blood sucked out of her veins and by none other than her demonic sister. The previous chapter had passed in a similar vein (no pun intended) but the heroine had thus far escaped her fate. A fate that was looking more and more inevitable. Takumi's eyes widened as he turned the next page...
... and he jerked back to his full surroundings when someone stumbled over his outstretched legs. Hardly surprising given no one but an idiot would sit in such a manner in the busy corridor but that particular chapter had been most engaging.
"Gomen ne!" he exclaimed in apology and he scrambled to his knees to help the fallen girl gather together her files and papers. "I am sorry," he tried again and this time in a language she could comprehend.
He threw a passing pair of boys a savage look (well, savage for Yoshino Takumi... In truth it wouldn't have scared a day old kitten) when they laughed and made some sort of comment.
"Are you injured? Hurt?" he asked in clear concern. "I am total bakayarou," he added in after thought and sincerity.

Greenlee had not expected someone to help her. She had expected to clean up the files on her own since everyone seemed to think she was a show now and not a person. Perhaps if she had the guts she could talk back like Rafe would, but Greenlee was not their yet. She still had a lot of molding to do before she got that sort of confidence.
Greenlee was a quiet girl and when she was the center of attention she tended to shy away, especially negative attention like this. She heard a voice by her side and looked next to her to see a guy giving a very weird mean face to the kids who were laughing. "I think some guys are just jerks but thanks for the face." She said with a smile on her face.
"I am okay. think my pride is hurt worse then me. Just a few aches and maybe a hurt foot, but I can limp on that. Its no big deal really. Had not been skipping I might have seen that side of the hallway occupied by your feet." She had never thought the kid she tripped over would be so nice. She figure the kid was a self absorbed ass, who had not even noticed someone took a fall courtesy of his feet. She was wrong.
"I accept your apology. Thank for helping." She said taking all the papers. "Greenlee." She offered hand figuring she might as well introduce herself to the man she had fallen for...she meant literally fallen for this time.

"I am Takumi," he stated with one of his normal blinding grins. "I am happy to meet you, Greenree..." He frowned and tried again. "GreenRee. Baka, Greenlee," he cursed himself. "It is sometimes hard for Japanese people to say that letter. We don't have L or V in our language and so I need to think hard when I say them," Takumi tried to explain. He grasped her hand and shook it between both of his. "But really, you are not in the wrong for skipping and I should have found a far better place to finish my book but..." He lifted his slender shoulders in a wry shrug. "I am abssessed with finding out if Nina will be turned towards the dark." He showed her the manga he'd been reading when the accident had taken place.
Takumi peered at Greenlee. "I don't think I have seen you around school before. Are you new? But then I am also quite new. I only started here a few weeks ago and so cannot possibly hope to know every single face." His frown returned when he saw how she was favouring one leg. "I feel terrible that you have been hurt. Can I help you to the first aid room perhaps? If nothing else I insist I deliver you to your destination. That way I will be sure you haven't fallen over another idiot."

Greenlee was not about to correct him when he added an R when there should be an L, but then he corrected himself. "You speak very good English for having such a different language." She commended him. Greenlee was looking down still collecting papers as Taki talked about the book he was reading, which sounded very, very familiar. Greenlee read...a lot. She read everything. "Do you mean Dark Hallow?" Plus she had once had a friend obsessed with manga, of course that friend was no longer around, cause Greenlee never kept friends for long cause she was never herself.
She leaned over and looked at the manga Taki showed her. "In that case I cannot blame you for reading in the first spot you picked. I know what its like to get into a book." When Greenlee had no friends she spent a large amount of time running through the books at a book store or a library. She was almost like that part in Beauty and the beast where the book store owner knows Bell. Well the book store Greenlee goes to knows her name as well. Lately because of Rafe Greenlee had very, very little time to read. Not that she minded.
When he asked if she was new for a moment Greenlee felt as if she had been slapped in the face. She had been here for three years how could he think she was new. Then Taki said HE was new and Greenlee felt a sigh of relief. If he was new then he would not have met her...yet. "Not new. I just tend to hide a lot. I usually help in the school office before and after school, not many people go there unless they are in trouble. I am kind of like the Principle's pet."
Thats what people called her who made fun of her. She was the one with the principle's ear, always talking to him about ways to improve the school and stuff. He listened to her. "How are you like the school so far?" She asked Taki. "I will be fine. I am sure my ankle will stop hurting in a little bit, but if you want to help I am headed to the guidance office to drop these files off."

"Hai! Dark Hallow... I think that's what it is called in English. My book is in hirigana and kanji. see?" He opened it to show her the pages, complete with their symbols instead of written word. "But I am sure Dark Hallow is correct. You know the story?" How awesome was that? Of course, he pronounced it as 'Dark Harrow'...
Greenlee seemed to understand why he'd become so engrossed and for that Takumi was profoundly grateful. It didn't stop him from feeling a total idiot, though, but it at least helped a little.
"You hide a lot?" He frowned in confusion. "Why would you hide? A girl as pretty as you are should never hide, Greenlee-chan," he declared with a bright smile. "But helping around the school is most worthy."
"So far I have had nothing but fun here at school and also in the town itself although I have already been placed on one detention," he added with a wry grin. "Still, it doesn't pay to be good for the entire day, does it?" He reached out and took the bundle of files from Greenlee's arms. "I think they have become muddled," he added with a downward twist of his lips. "But I will make sure they know the blame lies with me... but where is the guidance office?" He threw her another wry smile. "I am able to lose myself between the main entrance and my locker and so still have to learn the layout of the building."

"I read a lot, and when you run out of classics, its time to move onto something else. Besides Manga has some great literary references. I enjoy finding imagery and symbolism in different literary works. Or perhaps I just get bored that easily. I tend to be homeward bound." Kind of comes with the territory of not having friends. Especially now with Rafe, the man was an animal and kept her pretty much in the bedroom unless he took her out. It had only been a few days of course.
"You think I am pretty. You are way too kind. Not many people have said that to me. I appreciate the compliment." Greenlee said being honest. Rafe had called her beautiful as well. Look where that went. Although Rafe was not around right now was he. So Greenlee had a right to blush. "I hide cause I am not the most popular person. I tend to get along better with the faculty then the students, so I spend a lot of time inside." Greenlee said with a shrug. "It's not too bad, but thanks again for the compliment. You really are too kind."
Greenlee pointed the way toward the office. "You will get use to it. The school is pretty big, so it id easy to get lost here. Its easy to think of it like a circle. The freshmen classes are to the left and it circles around to the senior classes which are to the right of the main entrance. I like helping around the school. Its fun and gives me something to do." She said. "Mind if I use your arm to help me walk." She did not want to seem forward or anything.
It really was only to help herself. Greenslee was very much into Rafe. "I can help the guidance counselor sort all the flies so they are back to being in the right places. But thanks for taking the blame. It really was my fault too. I should have actually watched where I was going rather then just assuming my path was free of anything in the way." She said laughing. This was kind of fun. To socialize for once. Although she did wonder where Rafe had disappeared to. At least she was making a new friend. Hopefully. "It will give me something more to do and I can sit for a while in the office." She admitted. "So why did you move here?"

"But yes, you are very... aaah... kawaii." He threw her a look f apology. "I'm not sure what that wod means in English. But pretty. Hai you are pretty." He found it hard to believe that Greenlee wasn't popular. Yes, she seemed a little shy but she was most friendly and generous. After all, she hadn't once berated him or laid blame for his feet having been the cause of her fall, despite Takumi being very much in the wrong! "It is not kindness to speak the truth but honesty," he stated with a grin.
"But as for getting used to the school..." He shook his head. "I feel that to be unlikely and also impossible. I believe 'kami' enter the chool at night and alter the hallways around just to confuse me." Kami being a form of river imp.
When she asked to use his arm Takumi immediately extended it to her. "I would be honoured, Greenree-chan," he said. "But I refuse to allow you to take any of the blame. Next time I promise I will find a less busy area to lie down in!" Takumi laughed as he spoke, hoping to bring a smile from Greenlee at the same time.
As they walked he answered her last question. "Otousan... My father," he clarified. "He lost his job in Osaka. That's in Japan where I am from." That was probably already obvious. "Anyway, jobs are hard to find in Osaka and so my parents decided to come here. The land of Opportunity, hai?" he added with a wink. "My older brother wasn't pleased to come here, though, but my little sister and myself didn't mind at all. I miss some things from Osaka but am finding many new experiences to try here in America."
They'd reached their destination by now and Takumi shuffled the files into a neater pile before handing them back to Greenlee. "Should I also come in to explain?" he asked uncertainly. No way did he want her to end up in trouble for his own stupidity.
