For Haley’s birthday party, Tyler was more than content to go stag. In fact, it was almost expected of him, he was sure there would be a few ladies in attendance at least looking forward to his attention, and he wasn’t one to ever deny a woman. He was hopeful that Aly would end up coming, after the admittedly mind-blowing night before they had once more spent together, he was eager to see her again. And he was sure the night with him was exactly what the girl needed to renew her confidence, after whatever it was Jasper did to anger her. As well, there would be Sarah Brody, a beautiful woman he was very much looking forward to getting to know more. And their lovely hostess, Haley herself. He would have to back off a bit on her, he knew, why she was dating Cameron. Especially if he was hoping to have a bit of fun with the guy, mould him into something a bit more...appropriate.
But while he was more than happy to go dateless, he knew Bree was right, and it wouldn’t quite do for his sister to do the same. Not for this party anyway, it would be the first time she met quite a few of the people in attendance, his friends, and if Bree said Tina needed to do so with a guy on her arm, then he trusted the woman’s word completely.
Still, the prospect of finding a date for his sister wasn’t all too comfortable for Tyler. Honestly, he would rather her go alone too, but Bree seemed more educated about these sorts of things. As long as they found someone Tyler could put up with, not worry about him trying to come onto his sister constantly, than he could make do.
After some thought, Tyler finally settled on someone he felt suitable. He liked Casper, he was a decent guy, a good footballer, and someone he felt trustworthy. Grinning as he walked up to the guy, he patted him on his shoulder, getting his attention. “Hey Casper. been looking for you. You going to Haley Rowan’s party tomorrow night?”

Casper looked at the other boy, he knew Tyler of course, but he wondered why the boy wanted to know whether or not he was going to Haley's party tomorrow. Of course he had an invitation to go to the party, he got an invitation to pretty much everything around the school. He also generally went to everything to, he generally had a date for such events. A different girl for each event, that was generally how he preferred to operate, no stings attached to the date. Just a date then go about life as normal, unless the girl was exceptional then all bets were off.
Some would call him a pig, he would call himself choosy and that was all there was to it. Any one who thought he had issues with commitment would be absolutely right, but insane if they actually told this to the big man to his face.
"Hello Tyler." Casper said he took his time to answer the boy, as if he was actually considering his answer rather than just taking his time to be annoying. "I was planing on going to the party tomorrow yes." Casper said to him with a nod. "Why do you ask?" he asked.

“Perfect.” Tyler decided, giving one of his trademark, award winning smiles. It wasn’t just women he could charm. And he would have to play nice with Casper if he wanted his help on this. It wasn’t as though he was asking him for much anyway though, he decided. In fact, it was almost a privilege. Who wouldn’t jump at a chance to date a Durnham for a night?
“Well, I ask because I need a favour. It’s nothing bad, I promise.” he laughed a little at Casper’s expression. “In fact, you just might enjoy it. You see, my half-sister Tina flown into town over the weekend, and she’s just started school here. So things are still pretty new for her, she’s still getting used to everything. She’s going to be going to Haley’s party too, and I thought it might not be the best thing for her to have her older brother hanging around, bothering her.” Tyler laughed. “So I was wondering, if you don’t have any other dates planned, if you might like to accompany her to the party? I’d feel more comfortable knowing she was out with a friend. You know as well as me how some guys can be, and being my sister, well, I can’t help but feel protective. You know how that is.”
Few people ever said no to him, for either being more than happy to do whatever he wanted, or worried about annoying the footballer. So he didn’t expect Casper to say no to him now, or if he did, he was sure he could talk the guy around. It wasn’t as if he was asking for much though, just asking for him to take a cute girl out. Wasn’t exactly a difficult job. And he already made it well clear how he wanted Casper to treat Tina.

He looked at Tyler trying to work out whether he was serious, he didn't get the need to protect your sister... but then he didn't have a sister he had two younger brothers. That was bad enough, so maybe he did know what it was like to be protective of a younger sibling. He also knew how much his siblings hated being mothered by the rest of the family.
"Yeah sure, so long as she is cool with it..." he said to him. "But if your sister slaps me for presuming to much... ie having a date with her... your not going to have a very good day." Casper said to him... just as Tyler didn't like being told no... Casper didn't like being taken for a ride. Sure he'd help a friend out, why not... but he didn't like being taken for a fool.
"You've got my number, when your sister says yes you can call me and let me know where and when for that matter she wants to be picked up. And also what kind of flowers she'd like, never hurts to be polite to a lady." Casper said to him eyes sparkling he was kind of warming up to the idea. He had just planned on showing up and dancing or making out with what ever girls were already there. Tyler's step sister would probably make an excellent date, it might even turn into more than a one night thing.

“Trust me.” Tyler laughed as the amused grin crossed his face, “She’s not going to slap you. Well, unless you act like a jerk but that’ll be your fault then. I wouldn’t have asked if I wasn’t sure she would want to go with you. I’ll check with her anyway, make it a certainty for you, then I’ll let you know the details. And what flowers to get her. Smooth touch by the way.” he complimented with a genuine smile. He wanted the date to be as platonic as possible, and if it wasn’t, he didn’t want to see or hear anything to rob him of that illusion. She was his sister after all, and though he thought she was too young to date, if she had to, he at least wanted to make sure it would be with someone decent. And again, involving nothing more than a kiss on the cheek goodnight.
He understood Casper’s slight reluctance at first though, or at least, he thought he did. Getting set-up with a teammate’s sister might not sound like the most appealing offer, it made one wonder why the sister needed to be set up in the first place. But given it was Tyler’s sister, so a Durnham, that thought shouldn’t have even occurred to Casper, Tyler decided. Durnhams’ would always be on the top of the food chain of the most desirable. The only other thing he could think of, given what Casper had said, was that the guy thought it could be a possible trick, and thus the possible slap. But really, he wasn’t one to stoop to such low acts for amusement. Well, not with his teammates and friends.
But now at least Tyler could feel at ease, somewhat, about who Tina would be going with, and how she would be treated. He knew he could count on Casper to be a gentleman, and given the guy’s track record, he didn’t think he needed to worry about the possibility of the one date become more than that. So all in all, it was a win for him.
He leaned up against the nearby lockers, seeming completely at ease. “It should be a great party though. I’m bringing the alcohol so you know there’s going to be plenty, there’ll be heaps of women barely dressed, and I heard that Haley’s got a hot tub. That’s the makings of a good party to me. Speaking of, I’m not sure when, but I’m thinking about throwing a sort of guys night, getting together a bunch of us. Booze, women galore, you interested?”

Casper smiled at him, "Regardless of the nature of the date, whether its doing a friend a favour or an actual date. My father has always maintained that you should treat your date like a lady, that may just be a slight antiquated believe but it never hurts to be nice to your date." Casper told him.
Casper's reluctance to get involved in a date went mainly down to the fact that t was being set up by the girls brother, that was a little suspect to any one who was being asked. Tyler was a semi decent rich kid, who's families name did more than clear a few paths for its kids. Casper had money people with it didn't intimidate him even slightly, yes it was kind of obvious to most people that he was pampered. You go to school each day in a chaffeur driven car what else did you expect after all. The non driving policy was as much for his own safety and that of his brothers than anything else.
His parents were paranoid about security, he would rather they care about something like that, than not care at all about their kids like some rich families did. Palming them off to someone else was never really an option to his parnts.
"Tyler anywhere, where there is boose and women and good company, or even bad company so long as their is good booze, I'll be there." Casper said. "That and the party sounds like a lot of fun, which is always a good reason to go to a party on a school night." he added with a big grin.

“Sounds like a good policy. Your father’s a smart man.” Tyler complimented, a small smile on his face. It was something his own father had taught him. When you loved women as much as he and the senior Durnham did, it paid to be nothing but respectable to them. It wasn’t as if he wanted to be anything but, he loved every single thing about a beautiful woman, and even being as rich, handsome and charming as he was, sometimes you had to be nice to get what you wanted. Luckily, he was very, very good at getting what he wanted. He would eventually with Maggy too, she was just playing hard to get, that’s all he was putting it down to. No one could resist him forever.
“It’s always a perfect reason to go to a party on a school night.” Tyler laughed. “Come on, we’re only young once, no point on wasting it trying to make sure we always get to school on time, or every day, even. A little lateness never hurt anyway.” His own appearance on Friday, the day after Haley’s party, was already in doubt. He was planning on making it a very late, and hopefully, successful night, and if he could, most of Friday would be spent in his pool house with a very lucky girl.
“Well then Casper, when I’ve worked out the plans, I’ll be sure to let you know. And I’ll message you at lunch, let you know when to come pick up Tina.” Tyler informed the guy, pushing away from the locker he was leaning against. “I better get going, get in the teacher’s good graces ahead of Friday. Nice talking to you.” With that he turned and left, whistling as he walked. He was a good brother.
