Brushing a lock of hair from his eyes, Sebastian couldn't help but smile proudly at his latest culinary creation: Spaghetti Carbonara. Considering the small size of the Cotton Family's kitchen and the relatively few supplies they had on hand, it was amazing how quickly a pack of spaghetti, several eggs, parsley, and bacon slices turned the entire household into a smorgasboard of delicious scents. Like a fairy-tale dream, the spell of Sebastian's cooking came over the family and even served the purpose of noticably improving Sidra's mood. "Spaghetti Carbonara." spoke Sebastian, positively beaming with pride. Skillfully, the young man extended his hand to deposit a small amount of parmesan cheese over both girls' pasta, taking care not to deposit an excessive amount. After several seconds of silence, the boy unexpectedly flung himself at the seated Fallon, affectionately wrapping his arms around her in a tight embrace. "I don't usually get the chance to cook for many people.." spoke Sebastian quietly, rubbing his nose shyly against the side of Fallon's face. "It's nice."

Fallon had watched Sebastian cook. She had been sitting in a kitchen chair swinging her legs whistling as he cooked. Sebastian moved like a cat so graceful when he was going from there to there with the ingredients. He seemed like he was back to his old self even after being beaten. Soon the kitchen began to smell so good it made Fallon's stomach rumble. Of course she could not stay still for long so soon she was around the kitchen, going here and there watching and smiling. She just wanted to see him cooking from so many angles.
Fallon was antsy. She could not sit still. It was hard. She had to constantly move. It was one thing to miss your meds a few days, but eventually unless you remembered to take them, your mind would go and any thoughts of your medication went with it. Fallon honestly could not tell you the last time she took her medication, let alone remember to take it now. Her mind was there, but it was in a heightened state, of a manic episode. She had been here for a few days. Episodes could last days...weeks.
The biggest question was did some one notice Fallon was a little off, or did all this seem like normal behavior. Perhaps no one was paying attention. Either way the middle Cotton child hugged Sebastian back when he hugged her. She kissed his lips deeply. She still had this twinge of jealousy over the book. Perhaps that was driving her behavior to be around the other boy. It happened.
"It smells so good." She stuck her finger in the sauces and wiped it on his cheek. The licked the little speck off. "Even better. Let's eat. Then we can go to the movies, and maybe walking on the beach. We need to do something after that." The thought of it being a school night did not matter at the moment. "No sitting still, expect during the movie." Fallon did not care if her mother even said no. She was going to do it anyway, cause its what she wanted to do.

He couldn't help but flinch at the touch of Fallon's lips against his, being unfamiliar with this sort of intimacy, but quickly allowed himself to relax into the kiss, firmly gripping the sides of the girl's head with his hands. A slight nipping sensation could be felt around his tongue, immediately causing the boy to break away and blush.
"Erm.." mumbled Sebastian, trying his best to look away from a visibly disturbed Sidra, "Y-You use your teeth, alot.."
An uncomfortable silence fell over the room, broken only by the sound of Sebastian fidgeting around anxiously on the tile floor. Despite his years, the boy still possessed the adorable awkwardness of a seven-year old child, and was easily embarrassed.
He glanced upwards to Fallon for direction before sharing a seat with her on the same chair. Grasping a bowl of the spaghetti in his hand, Sebastian carefully picked away at the pasta and neatly wrapped a long string of the delicious substance around his fork before plopping it daintily into his mouth.
"It'll be a good afternoon, then." commented Sebastian after some time. "
The boy smiled broadly, nudging his companion playfully with his shoulder.
"Maybe... Maybe would could get some 'ice cream' too?" he suggested, eyes gleaming hopefully.
"But.. First.. What kind of movie are we watching? I don't really watch many movies, so any sort would be fine.."
Noticing that Fallon hadn't touched a bite of her food, Sebastian abruptly maneuvered a fork-full of his own food towards the girl's mouth, offering a taste.

Fallon just giggled. "My sister is a vampire. They are all teeth." She was joking around. Fallon smiled at him. "Yes we need ice cream. I am in the mood for chocolate. She was fidgeting around in her seat as Sebastian joined her in it. She made room and smiled at him. Fallon laughed some more and blushed a little. She had enjoyed kissing Sebastian. His innocence was adorable and it matched her own in a way.
She perked up when he asked about movies, "Let's see...what movies are out." Fallon jumped out of her chair and picked up the section of the paper with the movie titles in it and quickly scanned them. "OH we can see the Hannah Montana movie, or Jumper, or Fool's gold....oh what about Definitely Maybe...I hear its a cute romantic comedy." She suggested.
Fallon leaned forward and took the offered bite of Sebastian's food. She ate it slowly and then reached for the fork on her own bowl and took a bite of it again. "This is really good." She said looking at Sebastian. "It is too nice of you too cook. I should be taking care of you. I promised. You are still recovering." She wanted to protect and take care of Sebastian, yet he was cooking and offering up suggestions for what they should do this afternoon. He was too good to be true.
"I am glad you are here." She said softly. Fallon took another bite of her food. Then she did what Sebastian had done moments ago. She twirled her fork with the pasta and offered the fork of pasta to him. It was kind of cute watching two kids share food form their bowls and share a seat. "I like you...a...a...lot." She admitted to him.

All the movies sounded unfamiliar and the boy couldn't help but shrug indifferently at the various titles listed.
"I'm not sure." replied Sebastian, scratching his head thoughtfully. "I suppose you could pick, if you'd like.. To be honest, I hardly ever watch television, so I'd probably be the wrong person to choose."
He smiled sheepishly, opening his mouth to take the offered bite of spaghetti from Fallon's fork. Chewing slowly, the boy allowed his head to plop loosely against his own hands, propping himself up on the corner of the dining table. While the painkillers greatly helped stifle the burning sensations in his ribs, a dull ache resonating deep within his abdomen, causing Sebastian to flinch in pain. Gripping tightly at the cloth bandages wrapped around his ribs, the boy gritted his teeth against the pain and emitted a soft gasp that was barely audible to the two adjacent girls.
"N-No.." replied Sebastian softly, doing his best to straighten up in his seat. "I l-like to cook.."
He paused momentarily, glancing over Fallon to make sure she wouldn't laugh, before continuing on.
"I.. erm.. I want to be a cook someday." admitted the boy shyly, reaching for his own fork.
"A good cook... With a restaurant in Marseilles.."
"You'd like Marseilles.. It's a beautiful place with wonderful weather.. That was my home town before I was adopted.."

"I say the Hannah Montanna movie." Fallon picked and pushed the paper aside. She ate some more, and was so focused she missed Sebastian's wince of pain, but she heard the next words. He wanted to move to Marseilles. At least thats how she understood it...as in France...Fallon was not sure, but that made her nervous. "You want to move there...and open a restaurant?" She asked wanting to clarify what she heard.
"What...what is it like?" She asked curious. Fallon had always wanted to travel. But in her head they were far off places. "I don't know what I want to do...I have so many ideas in my head its hard to keep them straight." Fallon's mind was forever changing. She was very good with clothes though and that was no lie, but she was a girl who could barely keep her mind focused for a minute sometimes, it was hard.
Fallon kept eating as she listened to Sebastian speak. "Its good you know what you want...with food like this I know your restaurant will be good. I would love to be your taste tester when you cook. Maybe i can help, you know...learn to cook and stuff." Fallon liked the idea of doing that with him. She was literally bouncing in her seat at the idea. "Oh this is so wonderful. We should go or we will miss the movie. I have so much energy, I don't know if I will sleep tonight. Oh Sebastian..I love that you cooked this food." She said. He was something else, and Fallon was glad she met him.

At the Movie Theater
It was an odd sight.. As the only boy in a theater packed with (mostly) pre-pubescent girls, Sebastian wasn't sure what to think and quickly began feeling the twinges of discomfort turn into stabbing embarrassment at the sea of pink-clad middle-schoolers surrounding his seat. He had also received a huge amount of unwelcome attention before the actual start of the film and attracted the stares and giggles of dozens of girls witnessing his arrival into the female-dominated scene.
Luckily for him, the darkness of the movie theater hid the intensity of his blush and the uncomfortable grimace on his face. Fallon, of course, seemed oblivious to his dislike of the film and was completely content singing to the warbles of Miley Cyrus.
Sighing deeply, the boy slowly allowed his head to rest lopsidedly against Fallon's shoulder and gradually felt his body, numbed by his most recent dose of painkillers, slip once again into unconsciousness. Serenaded by the voice of Miley Cyrus and the delighted squeals of the auditorium full of girls, the boy curled up into a tight ball next to his sweetheart and promptly fell asleep, thumb in mouth.

He was back at the Rose Garden.
Within a matter of seconds, his surroundings morphed from the movie theater to a dimly lit room deep within the orphanage. It was a splendidly furnished abode, with red velvet carpet and a multitude of paintings depicting Christ's Crucifixion hanging on the wooden walls.
Sebastian was eight years old again, and a tiny whisp of a child clothed in a set of blue cotton pajamas that seemed a size too big. Quivering in terror, the boy clutched pitifully at the blue blanket in his hand, shrinking back from the towering figure of a man standing before him.
"P-P-Please.. N-No.."
A pair of rough hands grabbed the boy by the collar and shook him viciously in response, tearing the thin cotton fabric of his pajama top to shreds.
"Little Bastard.." growled the Priest, his breath reeking of cigarette smoke.
A powerful slap smacked the boy to the ground, leaving a hand sized imprint across Sebastian's left cheek. Crying out in a mixture of pain and terror, the boy curled up into a ball in a futile attempt at avoiding the full force of the impending beating.
The jingling noise of a belt buckle brought a brief respite from the violence, before a hail of blows dealt through the leather strap began to land on the child's exposed back. Hard leather met flesh, leaving thick welts.
"No!!"
All eyes in the movie theater turned to Sebastian as he woke fitifully from his nightmare, drawing immediate attention to the long stream of blood spouting from his nose and staining the front of his white button-up long sleeve shirt.
Tears in his eyes, the boy shook fitfully in terror and embarrassment, before promptly standing up from his seat and storming out of the theater. Ignoring the wide eyed stares and shocked expressions of the surrounding audience, the boy made his way through the doors of the auditorium and into the hallway outside.
He collapsed into a broken heap just inches from the doorway and curled back into the familiar fetal position he had assumed so many times before.
"Stupid Idiot..." he sobbed, cursing himself for his abrupt display of weakness. In his mind, he had once again ruined another chance at 'playing the normal game', embarrassing a companion in the process.

Fallon was so engrossed in the movie she never noticed. She felt him curl next to her,but never noticed he fell asleep. Fallon had been in her own world singing along to Hannah Montana like every other teenage girl around. She had been so into watching the movie and eating her popcorn that she never even thought something like it would happen. Not during a Hannah Montana movie. All the sudden a loud "NO" was heard.
Fallon jumped, cause the no had been in her ear and it took her a while to realize where the word, no had come from. She eyed Sebastian as he ran out of the theater. All eyes on them, on him to be more specific. Fallon was not paying attention to the eyes, she was more focused on Sebastian trying to understand what had happened. Her heart was pounding as she went over it in her head.
One moment he was there next to her and the next he was yelling NO and running out the theater, leaving her alone with angry eyes on her. Pink flushed her cheeks as she finally go up and made her way to the exit to follow Sebastian. It did not take long to find him curled in a ball right outside the door. "Are you okay?" Sh bent down next to him. "What happened?" She asked softly. Not sure exactly what was going on.
