Kian bowed to the applause on the last night of the play he had been working on and appearing in for almost six months. It had been great and he had made a lot of contacts, but he was glad he was going to get a break. Between school, acting, singing and dancing lessons as well as the play he had been acting in, he had no time for friends or anything else. Which is why he had decided to skip the cast party and see what was happening at Jasper's birthday party. He hoped he might find Patch or any of the gang there.
The night was dark as he walked towards the party. He heard laughter that sounded familiar. He headed towards it which seemed to be a side entrance or something. He grinned as he saw the very people he hunted coming towards him. "Busted!" he said, only loud enough so they could hear him. "Furtive escapes in the shadows with guilty demeanors and the scent of gunpowder and traces of birthday cake leaving a trail behind them... It could only be Patch and Evan," he exclaimed with a grin.

Patch shook his head dismissively, "Naw, can't let you get caught, then you'd get all the credit." He explained, glossing over the fact that he might actually care if she got in trouble. "And if anything happened to you, JJ would murder me. I already have one person who wants me dead." And that was one too many! He didn't stop to consider that any more than that might care to kill him now that he had helped explode a cake in the middle of a crowded room.
"Oh, c'mon, how many of the trust fund babies do you think like country? It distracted 'em, didn't it?" He defended his musical choices. No way would he admit that he might actually like some country, the same way he couldn't admit that he ever liked any pop music. He was too stubbornly convinced of his musical superiority, and he did not want to tarnish what he was sure was a reputation for discernment.
He rolled his eyes as Mallory and Evan began going on about him and Mal dating...and then Mal began to insist he was gay. "Okay, seriously, not liking girls doesn't mean I like dudes. I don't want a boyfriend." Was that really so hard to understand? Apparently for those who were sexually oriented, it was difficult to understand that anyone could lack a meaningful sex drive.
"Kian!" He hadn't expected to see the younger boy there, they hadn't spoken in over a month, since Kian had come back from New York, "There are no guiltly demeanors here, I don't know what you're talking about..."

Kian grinned and reached into his pocket and pulled out a laminated card. "Look! I am official," he said excitedly and approached his friend. "See I have my S.A.G. card now. I can do movies and everything." He had heard how hard it was to get a card, but he had been lucky that his father had been in the business and at his funeral, Kian had met a lot of people, one of which had a minor part in a play that Kian met the specs for. A short audition and he had been on the way to gaining his professional hours.
"So you guys leaving already? I guess I should have known it would be to late to just be getting started. You guys want to come to a cast party? Its at the Viper Room. I am on the invite list so I can get you in," he said not really wanting to go back alone. He liked his fellow cast members but he was the youngest and he felt a bit like everyone expected him to screw up somehow.

“Yeah, I don’t either mate. I for one, wasn’t a party to the cake being blown up with fireworks. No sirree, I wouldn’t get involved in something as childish as that.” Evan quickly stepped up to deny, looking as serious as ever as he did. “I mean, if it was blown up with fireworks. It might not have been, I don’t know. I didn’t help with it after all, so, I couldn’t possibly know. It was just a guess, yeah, just a guess.”
His eyes slanted sideways as if looking for any other witness, and when the coast was apparently clear, a chuckle escaped him. “Hey Kian, been a while. You miss Patch and I that much huh, you had to spend your night tracking us down? Can’t say I blame you, we are pretty awesome.” he teased. “Congrats on being official and all. You get on a movie, you are so dragging me along. I could be an extra. Or I could get coffee or something. I don’t care. Come on, a movie!” he enthused.
He then paid attention to the fairer members of their little group. “Oh, do you two know Kian?” he asked, introducing them anyway. “That’s Mallory, best with a camera I know, and this gorgeous female here is my girlfriend, Brittany. Now, would be cool to catch up and all, but, can we get moving while we do? For no reason, of course.” he quickly rushed, grinning. “Come on, Viper Room people! That’s where the cool people hang right? Well, we should be there already!”

Kian grinned and began walking in the direction of his jeep. "You guys riding with or you have your own rides? Mal... my dad was a camera man, he worked for MGM. If I see any of his buddies I will introduce you," he said, perfectly willing to spread the wealth around. He knew if Patch and Evan were hanging out with them, the girls must be okay.
"How can you put up with Evan, Brittany? How do you keep him from sneaking dead fish into your lockers and blowing up your mailbox?" he asked with a grin. He was trying to make sure he included the girls. He tended to forget about them unless he made a special effort to include them.
He could see his jeep, but he still didn't know if they were coming with him.
