Seth had spent the morning in a fog and only managed to get a bit of the footage from the car on the flag pole. He wasn’t sure what he would do with it as he wasn’t one of the participants. He wished he had been around early when they had been putting it up there. That would have been a real find. He had stayed out as long as he could in hopes of watching it being taken down, but had to give up when security came out to chase everyone inside. Now it was lunch and he had forgotten to bring one so he was in line to pick out his poison. He was recording as usual, hoping for something worthwhile to happen. ”Fish sandwich, mac & cheese and broccoli,” Seth informed the lunch lady and grabbed the tray at the end so he could flash his ID at the end to ‘pay’ for it. Thank God for free lunch. He carried his tray outdoors, hoping to find Sarissa or Celeste perhaps. He smiled at everyone, his handsome face friendly and personable AS he began to sing softly, his stormy grey eyes shining as he reached the doors outside. He found a bench and sat down and watched for siblings.
The air is gettin' hotter, there's a rumblin' in the skies.
I've been wadin' through the high muddy waters,
But the heat riseth in my eyes.
Everyday your memory goes dimmer,
It doesn't haunt me like it did before.
I've been walkin' through the middle of nowhere,
Tryin' to get to heaven before they close the door.
When I was in Missouri, they would not let me be.
I had to leave there in a hurry, I only saw what they let me see.
You broke a heart that loved you,
Now you can seal up the book and not write anymore.
I've been walkin' that lonesome valley,
Tryin' to get to heaven before they close the door.
Closing his eyes, he let the sun wash over his face and thought of his therapist advising him to try sitting with people other than his siblings. He wasn’t fond of forcing conversation though or fending off people’s questions about their now defunct TV show. No he didn’t know if the show would be reinstated and he didn’t care. What the show had meant to him was that he was ignored more than usual. Even if they did start it again Jason wouldn’t come back, he was producing something in New York now. A profound ache settled in his gut and he shut his eyes so that tears would not leak onto his reddened cheeks.
