He woke up to someone in his bedroom, opening his eyes he looked at his mother who was currently riffling through his wardrobe.
"Would you please explain to me why your in my bedroom while I am still in bed and the alarm is half an hour from going of." Jade growled at his mother. "And of all the things that you could be doing your riffling through my wardrobe." Jade said to her she looked at him. "Exactly what are you looking for in my wardrobe?" Jade said to her.
"Something to explain your behaviour last night." she replied.
"And you think that I would have something in my wardrobe." Jade asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Something has to explain why you want to leave the house." she replied angrily.
"You mean besides having manipulative sons of... for parents, who have no right to act like parents, you don't have a maternal bone in your body. I finally give you what for and stand up for myself, and you assume that I am on drugs or something. Just proves how ill suited you are to being a mother to anyone." Jade snarled at her. "Get the hell out of my wardrobe." Jade snapped at his mother who was staring stunned at him.
"Thats how you feel about us?" she asked.
"Its what we all think about you, its just that I'm the only one who is willing to say it alloud. You may have the other two scared of you, that is not the case with me, it never has been." Jade said to her as he brushed past to grab a t-shirt and sweat pants to make use of until he had had breakfast.
"What happened to you?" she demanded.
"You mean besides being shot and growing up, I saw you two and my grandfather for what you really are." Jade said to her. "I'm moving out to get away from the pair of you." Jade added.
"Jade how will you survive, you've never had a job in your life. How will you pay your rent." she said to him smugly.
"Did you think that I wouldn't use the contacts I made from the family business to invest what I have." Jade said to her. "He can disown me all he wants, I'd still be better of than living in this house and by playing your insane rules." Jade said to her.
"Jade Jonathan Edwards you do not know what your talking about, your grandfather would never disown you." she snarled then slapped him. "No one in this family gets disowned." she snapped as he placed a hand to his cheek.
"No they just get pushed so far to the side of everything that is going on, that they have no contact with the family until grandfather decides that they should be allowed back into the fold. He will try to make them beg to be allowed back into the family. This is probably his attempt to get me to play ball with him before he does just that." Jade said as he headed for the door. "Oh the porn is on the top shelf, the blow up doll is in the trunk and the other toys are there to. Knock your self out." Jade said before he stalked out of the room.
He found his grandfather in the kitchen helping himself to food on the island, "Your up early." he said to him.
"That would be my mother rumaging through my wardrobe in the hope of explaining something that should be obvious." Jade said to him with a smile.
"Which would be?" his grandfather asked.
"That would be why I am leaving this house." Jade said to him.
"Your father told me of the argument you had with him last night." the man said to him.
"And let me guess you have your own opinion." Jade said to him.
"You want more responsibility yet you are still acting like a child, you are no where near ready for stepping up to the plate." the man said.
"You throw me in at the deepend while you and my father act like cowards or better yet you act like the puppet masters. Well grandfather this puppet as cut its strings." Jade said to him. "I won't live like this any more. When your ready to stop playing your games with my life, let me know until then respectively stay the hell out of it." Jade said to him.
"I am trying to make you into the man you need to be." the man snapped.
"Well job done, you have shown me that the only people in this family I can trust are my brother and cousins, the rest of you are not worth mentioning let alone trusting. Here endith the lesson on family politics." Jade said to him. "You stepped way over the line last night, you called them away and then had me run the show just to see whether I could. Like the dutiful lap dog my father is he did what you asked of him." Jade said to him. "I won't play that game with you, I sure as hell won't be your lap dog." Jade said to him.
"Is that truly how you feel about me?" the man asked.
"Go home grandfather no one wants you here, no one in this family likes you or the games you play with our lives. I'm amazed my grandmother has stayed with you for so long, personally I would have divorced you years ago. You would have gotten exactly what you deserve." Jade snapped at the man.
"Your father would appreciate your staying in the house." his grandfather said to him.
"And what do I get from that deal." Jade said to him.
"What do you want?" he asked.
"Full access to my trust accounts and a significant rise in my shares." Jade said to him.
"You will get that when your eighteen." the man said.
"Then you have nothing that I want." Jade said to him.
"I can close you of to the money full stop." the man said.
"You think that I don't have my own accounts with money in them and I don't mean the pitance you give us a week from our trusts." Jade said to him. "I want the same access to my family account as I know my sister has and that is for me and my twin." Jade said to him.
"You think we treat your sister differently." his father said as he came into the kitchen.
"I've seen the proof father, I know you do." Jade said to him. "Equal rights to our accounts or you have nothing and I mean nothing that I want." Jade said to him. "Oh and do hurry up in your decision or I will be looking for a house at lunch." Jade said to him.
"You really are my grandson." his grandfather said.
"You taught us to be cut throat with your tactics grandfather, you made me what I am. Now your going to have to live with what you have created." Jade said to him.
"You stay in the family home until your eighteen and you have graduated, I will give you full access to your trust fund, I will continue to put money into it until your twenty one. You leave now and your have what you have in your account and nothing more until your twenty one when we will discuss your conduct." his grandfather said to him.
"You double it and I'll consider it." Jade said to him.
"Your under the impression your negotiating." his grandfather said.
"You want me in the house where you can still control my actions, your going for it." Jade said to him the man chuckled. "Alex and I get the same treatment." Jade said. "Do you seriously think that if I left tomorrow Alex would be far behind." Jade said to him.
"You have a good point." the man said.
"I know thats why I am your heir." Jade said to him.
"You stay and I will do what you ask and I will stop the games as you put it until you have graduated." the man said. "You will go to one of the Ivy's and study law of course, or Oxford." he said to him.
"Your making assumptions as to whether or not I want to do anything like law." Jade said to him. "We shall see in a year." Jade said to him.
"This Jeremy." his grandfather said.
"You really want to discuss my boyfriend, you won't win that argument." Jade said to him.
"I would rather you marry a good woman." the man said. "But if your determined to keep Jeremy in your life I suggest you show him how to dress and act like an Edwards spouse is meant to. I will not have him show us up in front of our business partners." the man said.
"So I should tell him to come in his birthday suit to the next party. I'm sure Jeremy won't mind that one bit." Jade said to him with a smirk.
"I can take that as a no." the man said.
"You can take that as a hell no, Jeremy has issue when I try to spoil him let alone my taking him out for a whole new wardrobe. Your just going to have to live with him just the way he is, oh and you can tell your partners that he is my boyfriend, he is not just a good friend. If I find your lying about my sexuality in the hopes that people won't find out about it, I will embarrass you in front of people." Jade said to him the man chuckled.
"You are far to much like your mother." his father said to him.
"Rather that than be a lap dog." Jade said to him.
"You upset your mother." he said to him.
"Job well done then." Jade said.
"Their is only so much childishness I will stand for Jade." his father said to him.
"Thank you for the warning, if I need one I'll let you know." Jade said to him.
"How is your shoulder?" his grandfather asked.
"Better than it should be." Jade said to him. "In future if you want to look through my stuff just ask, I can tell you right now that anything contraband would not be found in my wardrobe." Jade said to his father.
"You were riling your mother up." he said.
"Oh yes, snooping about in my wardrobe earned that, especially after she woke me up." Jade said to him.
"Your stay here at the house?" his father said.
"Do I actually have a choice in the matter." Jade said to him.
"Not really." he said to him with a smile.
"I want the house." Jade said to him. "So I can escape this place when ever I want." Jade said to him.
"Certainly beach house do you?" his father said to him.
"Something with a good view and a perfect place to store surf boards would be a good start, definitely needs a swimming pool." Jade said to him the man nodded.
"All it took was to talk to get you to stay." his father said.
"Oh no we all know the reason why I stayed, it had nothing to do with the talk. Try this again old man and no matter the threats your lose more than just your heir. I'll make sure that you lose that reputation." Jade said to him. "I should get ready for school, so I shall see you later." Jade said to them.
"We will be here for the next few weeks, I will want to meet Jeremy properly. I believe its time that we had a family dinner." his grandfather said to him.
"Fine I'll see what we can do, Jeremy and I are both busy people." Jade said to him.
"You should invite Brad and his family." his father said to him.
"With that man in this house I don't think that is going to happen." Jade said to him then walked out of the room. "Brad has more sense than to come here when the family is present, after the last time we were in Australia together." Jade said to him.
"And this Mike he is history." his grandfather asked him.
"What he is, just so your clear on this. Is none of your damn business, no I'm not dating Mike... does that mean I have nothing to do with him... of course not." Jade said to him.
"And what does Jeremy think of that?" his father asked him.
"Jeremy knows that I am friends with him father, he deals with it. Like he knows that I am not interested in Mike that any more." Jade said to him. "I have to get ready for school or I will be late." Jade said then stalked away from his family.
TBC: Will do another part of this later in the week... unless someone wants to cut in and skip to school.
