Celest ran her hand over her hair, which was pulled back into a smooth knot in the back of her head. Although she wore her hair long, she liked it pulled back, it made her feel more mature, more responsible, although her outfit was in contrast of that. She also had a headband on with a big flower which sat on the side of her head, which matched the stripes on her crew neck sweater that had a picture of the Eiffel Tower screen printed on the front. She paired it with a lace skirt that fell about an inch above her knees and tan knee socks and buckled shoes. Her style tended to be very eclectic and a bit out there, usually making her stand out even though that was the opposite of what she wanted to do. Celest just didn’t realize she was doing this.
She headed down the hall, looking straight ahead as she hugged some books against her chest. She stopped at her locker, slowly turning the combination until it flung open. She kept her locker relatively neat and for the most part her locker partner obliged although there were occasionally things out of place. Like today there were a few stray papers that weren’t really hers and she collected them, stacking them up and placing them neatly on her locker partner’s shelf. She then placed her books, which included her Health book and two books she was reading for fun into her locker and grabbed her History textbook and note book. She then just grabbed one of her for fun reading books which was a new fantasy novel she’d picked up at the mall over the weekend. She usually liked to read the few minutes she had before class before the teacher started.
With her new books in hand, the ones she needed, she shut her locker and took a step back, only in doing this, and she bumped someone slightly. “Oops,” she said turning around.
