There really ought to be some kind of School Of Best Friends, Connor decided, given the fact that he hadn’t really been doing a good job of it in regards to Julia as of late. First with the whole Wynn / Danny situation, which had just been a whole barrelful of monkeys. Then being late to Julia’s planned day of LOTR computer game playing, when he promised her he wouldn’t be. Plus, his sore and bruised arms hadn’t been the same since. He really had a lot of making up to do.
Which is why it was very fortunate that when he was walking by his no longer neglected friend’s locker Tuesday the door fell open, completely randomly and through no fault of Connor’s. It also was very fortunate that at the time, he had been carrying a bag stuffed full of cookies and other assorted chocolate goodies, attached to a note saying sorry and promising more LOTR nights, as well as a little smiley face the Irishman had been quite proud of. He wasn’t much of a drawer after all. So, as the bag was heavy, it was only reasonable that he use Julia’s locker to store it.
Slamming it shut, he leaned against those nearby, waiting to see if he beat his friend to the locker in the first place. It was really a lot of work, this best friend business. Either that, or he wasn’t so great at it in the first place. Either way, something told him there was a lot of video game playing in his near future.
Connor wasn’t one to waste time either, so as he waited, he pulled out his camera, taking random snaps of the passer-bys. He’d really been slacking off in that department too lately. “Hey, wanna do a funny pose for me?” he called out to one.

As he made his way to his locker to drop off the books he wouldn't need until the afternoon, Yoshino Takumi read from the latest volume of 'Desu Nôto'... Death Note. He'd been excited to get the newest issue as the last one had left him hanging on a thread. Teru Mikami and Kiyomi Takada had continued with their killing spree but the cliff-hanger had been when Kiyomi had been kidnapped by kidnapped by Mello and was then forced to kill him with a hidden piece of the Death Note. Kiyomi had also been killed to avoid her implicating Light after she uses the note to kill Mello. Takumi had been impatient to know if Light had evaded capture for Kiyomi's murder... He glanced up from the manga book as he neared his locker... only to find himself eye to lens with a camera. “Hey, wanna do a funny pose for me?” Takumi blinked. "Funny pose? What is funny pose?" Of course, he knew the first word but not the second one. "If I am able to do this thing for you I would be happy to help you... " As usual he had a feeling he was making a complete baka out of himself.

“Hey Takumi.” Connor greeted him cheerfully, glad that it was him he ran into this morning. The guy was dating one of Connor’s friend’s after all, and was a good friend of his boyfriend’s group of friends, so he felt he should start getting friendly too. He was thrown by needing to define a funny pose though. Not that he was bothered by Takumi needing a definition, it was his second language.
“Everyone can do a funny pose.” he explained, stalling as he was trying to figure out the easiest way to explain it to him. “It’s just doing something silly and funny for me to take a photo of. Like sticking your tongue out, or standing on one leg. Just act....well, like Evan would if I took a photo of him.” He didn’t think he had taken any photo of Evan that the guy was aware of that didn’t involve a funny pose. He guessed Evan just couldn’t help himself. Or Patch, both guys seemed to amp up on the not so sane factor when they were within sight difference of each other. Which only made for more funny photos, when Connor was lucky enough to snap it. Which reminded him, he really should look for the negatives of the photos from the fight with that Jessica girl, give them to Patch. That just might be what was needed to get the guy to finally forgive him for taking the photos in the first place. And not stopping to help. Oops.
He moved his camera down to start fiddling with it, more than happy to hold off on taking any more photos just yet. “So how have you been going Taki? And how’s Izzy doing? I heard about her mum, I was thinking about checking in her today. I can’t even imagine how upset she must be.”

"Ohayo Connor," Takumi replied with a bright smile. "I haven't seen Izzy since bowling on Sunday. I have had a text from her though, and she says she is ok. I think she is hiding her true feelings and making us all believe she isn't as sad as she really is. I wish..." He half smiled at Connor. "I wish she would let me help her... not hide herself from me but..." He shrugged. "That isn't something I can force, though, is it?" It hurt a little to know she was blocking him out but her feelings were the important ones right now... and not his. "I am sure she would love to hear from you, though," he said in conclusion.
"So a funny pose. I understand. Like this?" Takumi turned his hands upside down and outwards, forming circles with his thumbs and index fingers. The rest of his fingers were splayed outwards. He placed his hands over his face, eyes looking through the circular spaces. To complete the look he opened his mouth wide and pushed his tongue out.
"Be quick," he urged although with his mouth as it was it sounded closer to 'ee hwik'. He knew he couldn't hold the pose for too much longer. He heard the camera click and he dropped his hands, mouth closing. "Now let me take one of you," he said and he held out his hand for Connor's camera. "I will not damage your camera. You have my promise!"

“Yeah, that sounds like Izzy.” Connor decided, feeling ever worse for his friend. He couldn’t even begin to imagine how she was feeling. He knew that if he lost his mum now, he would be devastated. It must be the same for her, he could only assume. “No, you can’t force it. I guess the only thing you can do is wait until she’s ready, and at least she knows that you’re there for her when she is.” He would want the same, and he made up his mind to try to visit his friend soon.
Used to having to be quick with his camera, he brought it up the moment Takumi brought his hands up to his face. “Like that. Perfect.” he laughed, thinking the guy had it down pat. He was tempted to tease Takumi and take his time in taking the photo, but he didn’t want to risk his friend dropping the pose either, so Connor quickly took aim and snapped. “Got it.”
Connor didn’t hesitate in handing the camera over. “I know. An even if you do, it’s not the end of the world. I’ve got a quite a few cameras by now.” he laughed. The only cameras he would probably be nervous about anyone else handling were at home, the rarely used ones.
The thing he wasn’t so keen on was actually getting his photo taken. For someone so obsessed with taking photos, he really wasn’t a fan of being photographed himself. And generally, being the one behind the camera, he could avoid that most of the time. And he had no idea what pose to do.
“Ok, get ready, I don’t know how long I’ll be able to hold this.” he warned with a grin, waiting for a moment when no one was pushing past them, and they had just a bit of room. Then quickly, he did a handstand, just how he accomplished it he wasn’t sure, but all in all, it was a decent handstand, Connor thought. Even if his arms were a little shaky underneath him.
As soon as he heard the click, he quickly dropped back to his feet again, pulling his wayward shirt back done. There, much better. “Thanks.” Connor grinned, taking the camera back. “As soon as I get these developed, I can bring you in copies of them, if you like.” He stretched lightly, it really hadn’t been as easy as he hoped to do the handstand. Gymnastics were never his strong point. “Did you go to the big auction last night? I was planning to, to take some photos, but changed my mind in the end. Didn’t think any friends would be there, would make for a boring night.”

Takumi took the camera and checked it over. It seemed simple enough to operate and so he didn't need to ask Connor which button to press. He held it up to his face as Connor started to pose. A handstand? Takumi laughed as he took the picture, Connor's longish hair flopping down over his face and his untucked shirt trailing downwards over whatever part of his face had been left uncovered by his hair. "I have it!" Takumi called out, still laughing.
He handed the camera back, not sure whether or not to point out that Connor's hair was still sticking up at the back. It was funnier not to mention it and so the Japanese youth kept that snippet of information to himself. "Sugoi! Arigatou, Connor-kun. I would very much like to have copies. They might even make Izzy smile a little."
"But no, I didn't go to the auction. I had hoped to see Izzy but... instead I stayed close by... Just in case she needed me." But she hadn't, much to Takumi's disappointment but maybe that was for the best? Perhaps that indicated she wasn't so sad? Somehow he doubted that was the case, though. "I don't know of anyone that went but am sure people were there. Just ones I haven't spoken to." Takumi lifted his shoulders in resignation. "But now I have to go and find a book from the library before the first class begins but thank you for making my day start with a smile!" Was there ever such a good way to begin any day?

For a moment, Connor wondered if something was wrong, like if he had food on his face and Takumi only just noticed it, given the odd look his friend was giving him. But the look disappeared as soon as he noticed it, so it was quickly forgotten. “Well, I have a few other pictures of people messing around, sorry, correction, I have a heap of photos of messing around and acting stupid, mostly of Evan, but there’s a couple of other people too.” the Irishman laughed. “I’ll get you a few of those too. I’m sure Izzy will find them funny.” Anything he could do to help and hopefully cheer up his friend a little.
He hadn’t realised how late in the morning it had gotten until Takumi mentioned needing to go to the library before class. The morning just flew past. Annoying, he preferred the morning free time rather than say, actually going to class. “No problem, you’re welcome. Same to you.” He glanced down at his watch, realising that class was in fact, soon. “If you’re going to make it in time, you better floor it. The bell is going....” He was interrupted by the sight of the guy he’d just been talking about, Evan, running hurriedly past them, singing something about Hershey’s. “Well, he’s got the right idea.”
Laughing, Connor realised that he’d better take his own advice, he’d have to be quick if he wanted to get his stuff from his locker in time for class. “Well, I’ll talk to you later then Takumi, get you those photos. And don’t worry about Izzy, I’m sure she just needs time. She’ll come to you sooner or later. See you around!” He gave a quick wave as he started to walk off.

Post by Kian O'Connor on Apr 10, 2010 19:35:57 GMT -5
Kian had gotten caught in the parking lot with a friend he had not seen in a while and so now was rushing to make sure Connor was planning to eat lunch with him as he did not think he could go all day with out kissing his handsome Irish lad. He found his target goofing around with Taki, so he slapped each of them on the ass for fun, but was more thorough with his boyfriend. "Did you get a picture of the flagpole Love? I think you should as it likely won't be there for very long," he asked, laughter spilling out as he saw the question in his lover's eyes. "OMG you have got to see it, be late to class, it is worth it for the picture, believe me." Kian fully intended going out with them again to see their expressions. "This needs to be in the yearbook! Kian was about to fall over he was so overcome with amusement.

Takumi had been about to leave and go find that elusive book in the library when Kian arrived. "Ohaiyo, Kian-kun," he greeted. "Moukarimakka... aah how are you today?" he tried again and this time not using his native language. Not only that but he'd slipped back into the dialect of Osaka. He laughed when Kian slapped his backside. He was well used to that sort of thing as several of his new friends in the USA were gay. Dare's hugs didn't bother him and nor did Kian's slaps. Both were meant as friendly gestures and taken as such.
"But what is so cool about the flag pole?" Takumi asked, his interest caught. It had to be more than just that. Some sort of silly flag had been put up there maybe. There was only one way to find out! The book could wait until break.
They headed outside and joined the thronging crowd that was studying the flag pole set high on the school's roof.
"A car?"
Takumi blinked in confusion. "How can a car be up there? No one is surely that bad a driver! Who put it there? Do you know?" It sounded to him like something Evan and Patch might be involved in and he made a mental note to berate them for not including him! "Who does it belong to?"
"Principal," a nearby boy provided.
Oooh he knew there was going to be trouble as a result...
