Braedan lit the cigarette and took a drag contemplating what his mother would say and realising that at least to some degree he didn't actually care what she said. As examples went she did not really set a good one for him or his siblings. He coughed as he inhaled making a face, this would probably be the only time he did this. He stood watching the street for a little while, Kye wasn't someone he would normally hang out with, but then their were always exception to that rule he thought anyway.
He knew how it was to be different in school, he was not American he didn't sound American for that matter. His mixed heritage meant that even in his birth country he would sometimes be looked upon as an outsider. None of this really bothered him, he was old enough and big enough to take what ever people really wanted to throw at him. That is at least what he told himself, even if it wasn't necessarily true all of the time. Today had been his fault, he could have walked away and not given Goodwin the pleasure of getting a rise to him. Then he would have been seen as weak and actually given heed to the rumours about his sexuality that would likely have started if he had walked away.
"My mother is normally only strict when their is a new man in her life, she likes to be seen as the perfect mother. So yes at the moment I suspect that she is going to be quite strict, at least if what I suspect is true." Braedan explained with a wire smile he held nothing but contempt for most of the men that entered his mothers live.
How they expected to stay in it for more than a few months or a year at most was beyond him, she had more ex-husbands than most people had hot dinners in a week. As track records go even her younger children knew she sucked at relationships since their parents split up.
"I was born in Poland, but I am a dual national... my father is Polish my mother is Spainish. Before my parents split and we moved here with my mother we lived in Spain. The American schooling system is confusing, back home I would have been suspended from school not kept in it for an internal suspension. I'll survive the punishment, the question is whether or not the fool who is in this mess with me will try to further the issues we had today." he explained taking a drag from the cigarette remembering he had it in between his fingers and inhaled not feeling like he was going to cough up a second time.

Kye watched as the other boy coughed, taking another drag of his own cigarette effortlessly. the asses were getting long and he flicked them onto the ground. He could hardly remember his first cigarette. He knew they were bad for you but he didn't care and had started smoking them pretty young. It had been Landon's idea of course, but Kye had always sort of followed his younger sister even though it should have been the other way around. He wasn't stupid, he knew he wasn't cool, and that normally random guys at school looked past him instead of wanting to talk to him and girls didn't even notice him. But he wasn't really a nerd either. He didn't really fit in anywhere.
Kye couldn't help but smirk as the other boy brought up his mother and how she changed her actions based on who she was dating. It sounded all too familiar, although his mom and strict had never gone hand and hand. "Yeah, when my mom's in a relationship she usually ignores us more than usual," he said with a casual shrug. He normally didn't like talking about his mom or the fucked up way that she liked to live. He didn't like thinking about the endless string of losers she dated or talk about it for that matter. It wasn't really anyone's business after all. But the shared comradely of having messed up mothers in messed up relationships wasn't something he'd pass up. After all, it wasn't as if people were waiting in line to talk to Kye.
Sometimes it surprised him how open some people were because he wasn't. He supposed his sister was really open, blabbing to everyone about everything, but he didn't talk to as many people as she did. Maybe if he did he'd be more open, he didn't really know. All he knew was that he wasn't usually. He didn't see the point of telling some random guy who he'd probably never talk to again all about his life. Kye knew his place, he knew that most people weren't interested in being his friend. But he listened politely as the other boy shared his story, knowing that he wasn't about to explain the whole family in New York thing but growing up in San Francisco thing then moving to LA last year. It wasn't important nor interesting, he though.
"Internal suspension?" Kye couldn't help but ask though. "Never heard of that...maybe they're getting more strict cause to of shooting or something," he commented, not really knowing what else it could be. Internal suspensions were not normal, nor did he see the point. Why would you keep someone in school and not have them go to classes? Would they sit in dentition all day? That seemed pointless, although it was more boring than getting to stay home and do whatever you pleased, maybe that was the point.

Braedan smiled at Kye, "Its cool I mean I did head butt someone, not that I make a habit of giving some one the back of my head as an early birthday present. All I can really say is that said person earned what he got and then some. I don't get into fights outside of the ring, to me its bad form. You can seriously hurt someone if its not in a controlled environment, even then you can get seriously hurt if your not careful." Braedan said before taking a drag of the cigarette. "I really shouldn't talk about that with other people, it gives the wrong impression of me. Truth is I have been fighting in a ring since I was young, I like it, but I hate to fight outside it unless I have no other choice or I'm defending myself. This guy just really, really got to me today and I lost my cool, I got a bit of a headache and I probably broke his nose... I get to pay the price for my losing my temper." he added.
He didn't really know why he was telling Kye any of this, just that it felt good to get it out there. He hadn't really been asked why he had done it, so much as being told that what he should have done was let it go and walk away. The tirade on school rules had been enough to give him a full on headache.
"I could murder an ice cold beer right now or a shot of Vodka or something alcoholic, but then I am not having the best of luck today... so maybe pushing my luck on the road after a drink would be a step to far." Braedan said shaking his head with amusement. "You ever sleep in the back of your van? It looks like you probably could just about." he asked.

Kye shrugged about the whole fighting thing. He didn't really know how to fight. When he'd attempted to his his mother's boyfriend, he'd basically gotten his ass kicked, so he'd pretty much learned his lesson when it came to fighting...not a good idea. He supposed if he was stronger though, or more capable he wouldn't be opposed to it. He just was very aware of his short comings and would rather get made fun of for walking away from a fight than join in, get beat up, and get made fun of for his lack of fighting skills anyway. It all seemed reasonable enough to him.
"Yeah, well, if he deserved it, he deserved it," Kye shrugged, wishing he was better at the whole giving people what they deserved thing. Maybe the whole head butting thing wouldn't be so bad....it would hurt but he was sure someone's head was pretty strong. Taking the butt of his mostly finished cigarette, he through it to the ground, sliding into a standing position to step on it and put it out before slinking back to the spot where he'd been sitting. He wished that it had lasted longer because now he had nothing to do with his hands and he'd already had two cigarettes in a row so he figured the third was a bad idea. He cracked his knuckles and placed his hands into his lap.
"Yeah, alcohol sounds pretty good," he said. "I think I have a bottle of rum in the car somewhere but I'd have to dig for it. I think Landon hides it under the seat," he said trailing off a little as he thought about it. He didn't really drink and drive though, it was more for the passengers. He didn't mind driving after one drink or if he had more than one and waited a few hours, but for the most part he was pretty careful abou tit.
"Yeah, used to have a mattress back there, but it started to get kind of gross so we chucked it," he said, realizing that it probably sounded strange, keeping a mattress in the back the van. "It was there during a road trip we took...sometimes it was easier than finding a hotel in the middle of nowhere," he explained. "I mean this thing is as old as the come...don't think they make new ones anymore, but its pretty amazing how much you can fit in it."

Braedan nodded, "I saw a show a while back where someone modified one of those a little." Braedan said with a smile. "They put a porsche engine in it, did it up properly... why any one would put that kind of engine in a van like this is beyond me but I suppose each to their own." he said. "I guess it would mean that the van would go like stink, you have to wonder however what it would do to the handling of the van after you had finished." Braedan said.
He took a final drag on the cigarette though it was no where near finished he flicked it away from both of the vechiles, he wouldn't be doing this again any time soon. It was not something that he had enjoyed all that much, it did something to calm his freyed nerves he thought but that was as far as it went for him. He looked sideways at his car for a moment, he was really only putting of the inevitable if he didn't leave soon. Yet he didn't really feel the need to rush home.
"If your going on a camping trip and it starts to rain, that would be the perfect way to escape the rain... of course you would need a new mattress but otherwise it would be a good salution to the risk of getting wet if you lean up against the edge of the tent." Braedan said to him.

"Really? Yeah, I wouldn't bother putting anything that fancy in here. A new engine wouldn't be a terrible idea though...eventually," he said with a shrug. But for now it seemed to run okay so he wasn't too worried about it. "Yeah I can't imagine it with anything too powerful...it would probably just flip over or something," he said.
He watched as the other boy finished off his cigarette, wondering if he was addicted now or not. He always thought it was stupid when people said you could get addicted from just one. He'd started smoking because he'd wanted to...because it was wrong. It had been some sort of rebellion or something, only no one seemed to care that he'd started smoking and once he realized no one cared, he was already addicted. Not that he cared about that either, he didn't really have any plans to quit, at least not any time soon.
"Yeah, that's a good point," he said. "I've always brought inflatable mattresses camping, but that works too. Could always stick it in here is it got too wet out. I haven't been camping in awhile though," he shrugged. "It's been raining a lot lately though, maybe next time the weather looks clear...or maybe wait till the summer. It never seems to rain in LA in the summer," he pointed out. It was something that was very true. It only ever rained in LA in the fall or winter...occasionally in the spring, but almost never in the summer. The summers were dry.

Braedan smiled at him, "Well it was good speaking to you, I'll see you about... but I really should get going, if I spend to much time looking at that place I might get the crazy idea of ramming it with my car. Just to see how much damage it will do." Braedan said smiling wickedly. "Okay so maybe not, but it will drive me up the wall if I stay here much longer." Braedan said as he straightened himself up and pushed himself of the van.
He fished his keys out of his pocket, turning back to his car he walked to the car door and opened it. "Detention is nearly over with, so I'd think that your sister should almost be done. Either way though I hope your not waiting to long." Braedan said as he slammed the door shut on his car starting the engine and lowering the window he turned down the radio which was blasting music out. "Sorry about that, this is what I get for letting my siblings lose in my car of a morning. Be sure to say hello if you see me." Braedan said before winding the window back up and slipping the car in to gear. He waved as he pulled out before shooting out of the school packing lot.

"Yeah, sure," Kye said. He looked down at his watch. "My sister should hopefully out soon anyway," he said, hoping what he was saying was true. It was boring just waiting around but maybe he'd put some music on to listen to until she got back.
He nodded as the other boy talked about getting in trouble and not wanting to stick around much longer. This didn't really surprise him. People rarely wanted to hang out with him because he was pretty much a loser. But as this was something he was used to, he wasn't really offended or anything. It just was what it was.
The other boy got into his fancy car and Kye sort of just watched because he had nothing else to do. Braedon was polite, said to say hello with him but although Kye was polite about it too, simply nodding and saying goodbye, he knew he wouldn't talk to this guy again. Mostly because Kye didn't think that the other boy meant it. Certainly someone like him didn't really want him to talk to him in school, in front of his other friends. Kye just wasn't popular and people rarely actually wanted him around. That said, if the other boy talked to him again, Kye would oblige but he wasn't really expecting it.
As he watched the other boy drive away, Kye crawled up toward the front of the van and turned the key so he could put some music on to pass the time until Landon showed up. After all, whether detention was over or not, there was no telling when Landon would actually turn up. He knew his sister well enough to know how flaky she was.
