Finlay lounged in the leather love seat, watching dark-haired Delilah Amello sleep on the couch. He had deliberately avoided bringing up last night, instead attempting to distract his girlfriend with boardgames and movies. He'd almost suggested painting, but she was still sensitive about her rejection from all the local colleges.
His stomach growled, reminding him that he hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. "Hey," He piped up, stretching, "Dee, you up for some dinner? Maybe we could go out?" He suggested. He knew she probably didn't feel quite well enough for that, but he'd been trapped inside all day long. Actually, that wasn't entirely fair. Trapped made it sound like he resented spending time with her, and that wasn't the case. He wanted to be there to support her, he truly did, but he also didn't know how to make her feel better. She seemed so miserable about the whole thing, and to be honest, he sort of felt miserable about it, too. It wasn't her fault, not really but then he thought she should have known better than to hang out with her old crowd when she was trying to escape their influence. She should have known that wouldn't end well.
"We could just go to like TGI Fridays or something." Anything so that they weren't sitting together not speaking, both too wrapped up in unhappy thoughts about the incident the night before.

Dee had slept a good chunk of the last 24 hours. She was very happy that Fin had stayed with her the entire time. She knew he was bored, how could he not be? She was not the best company at the moment. They'd watched movies, played games, no painting though. Fin knew she was still a little upset about being rejected from all of her college choices. That was the reason she had gone out to Rye's house, and look where that had gotten her?
Fin spoke up, breaking the silence that had been the living room. Dee peeled an eye open, she had not been fully asleep, just mostly. "Food sounds good, something more then the broth I've been drinking please?" She asked. She sat up, brushing her long hair out of her eyes Looking over at her boyfriend, she gave him an actual smile, a small one, but more then she had been able to before.
Dee got up and walked over to the love seat. She knelt down on it and placed a gentle kiss on Fin's mouth. "Thank you..for being here for me...for everything." She said softly. "Food sounds really good..we can go anywhere you want, my treat tonight."

"I can't make you pay, I'm supposed to be taking care of my sick girlfriend!" Finlay argued, wrapping an arm around her waist and tugging her down onto his lap. That may have been a tiny bit sexist, but he felt that he ought to be able to provide for her...even if her family was more wealthy than his. How could they not be, when his family consisted of a single father slaving away at a salon and students? He knew that she could afford a meal out, but at the same time the idea of making her pay (especially when she was sick!) made him feel guilty.
However, she'd agreed to go out. So she must be feeling at least a little better, which was reassuring. "Anywhere? Anywhere at all?" He queried, "Then why don't you get dressed up and we'll hit Longhorns. I'm not letting you pay, though." He warned, running a hand through her hair gently. "You're sure you're feeling up to this?" He wondered, worry apparent in his voice. He didn't really know how long it would take before the effects of the drug wore off. Was it too soon to expect her to eat? But he was bored and hungry, and he really wanted to believe she was better because, well, he didn't want his girlfriend to be sick.
He extricated himself tenderly before standing and stretching. "I'll just wait for you here."

Fin had pulled her gently into his lap, so now Dee found herself straddling him gently. "You have been fantastic in taking care of me...you haven't left my side in 2 days Fin.." She said, toying with a safety pin on his shirt. He had sounded absolutely scandalized at the thought of her trying to pay for dinner. He was old-fashioned like that, whether she was still sick or not. She loved that about him.
"Yes, anywhere.." Dee had replied, her eyes closing as he ran his fingers through her hair. She REALLY loved it when he did that. There was something so oddly sensual and sweet at the same time when he ran his hands through her hair. "Longhorns sounds fine." She shut her mouth when he once again reiterated the fact that she was not paying. "Yes, I feel a load better then I did this time yesterday, I'm starving, trust me...I need to get out of this house as much as you do." She gave him a grin.
She slid off his lap when he suggested she go change. Dee gave him a naughty little grin, a strong indicator that she was definitely feeling better. "Sure you don't wanna come help me change?" She asked. "I mean..when you decide that you're ready for that next step.." She said, a smile tugging at her lips. "Let me know."
Dee disappeared up the stairs to change.
