It was go time. Ezzie had come over a little earlier and they'd gone over the plan to break Thad out. Roxy had texted him all the details and had texted him again a minute ago to let him know it was time. He hadn't responded to any of them which made her a little nervous...but he'd said he was in earlier so maybe he just wasn't by his phone or something. Knowing Thad he'd left it up in his room while he was waiting downstairs for Ezzie, like they'd planned. It would be easy. Roxy was going to knock on the door, lie and say she'd been locked out of her house. Luckily, her parents weren't home so that part would be believable. While the moms were helping Roxy get into her house, Ezzie would sneak around back and signal for Thad to sneak out. They'd hide in the bushes until the coast was clear. Roxy would let them know when.
Deep breath. Easy. Ezzie had even dressed in camo for the event...makeup and all. She said that Thad was going to match. Roxy couldn't join in though. She had to be dressed normally since she was the distraction....the bait. She was dressed plainly in a pair of skinny jeans and a low cut top which she thought made her look mature...something that she wanted to look when she showed up at the bowling ally. Roxy of course had no clue that Thad's mom had confiscated his phone and now knew their whole plan. If she had been aware she would have attempted to make up a new plan, even on short notice. She also would have been prepared with a lie to tell her parents, about how she totally wasn't planning on breaking Thad out while he was grounded and it was all a misunderstanding. Thank goodness that Roxy was a great actress...she had this.
Roxy glanced at her cell phone one last time. It was 3:00 on the dot. Still no response from Thad... Another deep breath. Roxy stuffed her phone in her back pocket and rang the doorbell of the Cotton household, ready to the be best diversion she could be.

Ezzie was decked out in camo all the way. From black clothes to a hoodie. It was more for fun then to actually break Thad out. Little did Ezzie know she was about to be caught making her first prison break. Ezzie made it to Roxy's in record time. Luckily she was able to pull Pepe out fast enough. Ezzie walked into Roxy's house barely able to contain her excitement. "I have this urge to sing a Johnny cash song."
This is the most fun Ezzie thought she would have in a long time. Of course she had no idea what was going to happen, but just the thought of it was enough to make Ezzie jump for joy. She was jumping so much she almost did not make it to the back of the house. She gave Roxy the thumbs up before she disappeared around back. Little did she know what was going to happen.
Right now Ezzie was lightly humming to herself waiting in the bushes for Thad to open the door. She checked her watch. 3:00PM...it was time to pull of the break of the century. Okay perhaps Ezzie was exaggerating, but she could not help it. It was too much fun not to. No matter whether it worked or not, this was just plain fun. Defiantly a story to look back upon. Ezzie checked her watch again watching the seconds tick by wondering where the hell Thad was.

Deborah Branscombe frowned down at Roxy, holding the door open but not inviting the girl inside. "Hello, Roxy. Thad is grounded right now. I'm afraid he can't leave his room." She tapped her son's cellphone against the palm of her hand, not bothering to hide the fact she'd confiscated their communication device. "And I'm afraid that your parents are not going to be pleased when I tell them what you've been up to." She added in warning. The Rivera's had always been cool to Deborah Branscombe and Sandra Benson, but Deborah was sure that they would listen should evidence be unearthed that their only daughter was trying to break other children out of house arrest.
------
Sandra Benson sat in the kitchen, watching out the window for any sign of Ezmeralda Lopez. Deborah had shared their son's texts with her, and she agreed that the two girls needed to be reminded to respect the punishments they inflicted upon him. He may have thought that grounding was unfair, but the boy didn't know the beginning of unfair. And grounding apparently had no effect upon his behaviour, either; his mothers were going to have to employ more extreme measures to get the point across to him.
About seven minutes after three she opened the door, peering around. "Ezmeralda? I know you're out there, so it's no use hiding." She called, though she hadn't seen the girl -- she only knew the time the girls had planned to break Thad out.

"No...no...I said I locked myself out," Roxy began. It was then that she noticed the phone...Thad's phone. "Uh...right..." she said, realizing that they'd been caught red handed. Roxy paused to think a moment...to come up with a back up plan when she heard Thad's mom say that she was going to tell her parents. Her parents weren't quite as strict as Thad's moms but they could still be strict sometimes...she'd been grounded quite a few times herself.
"Uh...sorry...won't happen again," she said, looking down, not really looking Deborah in the eyes. "ABORT!!! ABORT!!!" she screamed past her, just in case Thad was in there, about to go meet Ezzie. She then looked up at Deborah, a look of panic on her face before she turned around and ran back to her house. She was getting in trouble either way so she was going to get Thad out!
She quickly texted Ezzie as she ran up her stairs, taking them two at a time. 'We're caught get away if u can--back up plan--just tell me wehre u want 2 meet!' In her room, she threw her phone to the side, not really thinking about what she was doing. All she knew was that she had to act quick. She was getting in trouble either way, so she might as well get Thad out while she was at it.
She opened up her window and jumped into the tree right next to it. Thank goodness for the tree. She climbed as quickly as she could, making herself over to Thad's window. Oh...thank goodness...it was open! A slight jump and she was in his window. "Thad! Thad!" she whisper yelled as she looked around the room wildly. Thad could climb down a tree with a broken leg, right? Because that was the best she had now...
