Haley owed Cam a huge debt. She knew asking him to do that had been taking advantage of that brain of his. Cam did say yes, so how much advantage could she take. However, even if he said no, Haley would have found a way to get the words yes, so it was actually easier that Cam said yes. Haley tried not to take advantage of people, but that did not always work. Cam was just so sweet and innocent. Haley really should help him learn the ways of the world. But she liked the innocence about him. Besides making it up to him was the best part. She had sent a text asking him to come over tonight. It was going to be a fun and innocent night. Haley needed Cam to see there was more to the relationship then her taking him to bed. They had more in common then many people thought. Also, Haley was interested to see how Cam was enjoying hanging around her friends. Bree, Tyler, and everyone, except Trixie, and Sarah seemed to accept Cam, which was better then she thought would happen. Cam was defiantly mold able, which might not be a good thing either. Haley did not want Cam to change. That innocent, dorky, nerdy attitude got to her. When he talked about things that went over her head, it was a turn on. However, Haley's friends meant the world to her. She wanted the best of both worlds. To date the dork and have him accepted, but in reality that was harder then it seemed. Sometimes Haley wished Cam had his own friends. But she knew if he was seen with some of them, then there would be no chance of her friends even treating him nicely. Did all that really matter? No, not as long as Haley was happy. But part of that happiness depended on her popularity nd social life. She had gotten use to it. When it came down to it, Haley just hoped that Cam stayed Cam, but Haley knew better then anyone that getting pulled into the world of popularity always came at a price. Haley would make sure Cam did not pay that price. On the flip side, the god and goddess party was coming along. She had the elite invitations for the midnight hot tub party, and she had the other invitations for the regular party. However, that could be thought about later. Right now Haley was anxiously awaiting Cam so she could show him just how her guys get treated. She had a romantic dinner set up. Chicken Parmesan, pasta, garlic bread, salad, and a brownies for dessert. She contemplated making them 'special brownies' but Haley knew that would be beyond wrong for her to do that to Cam. Besides with Cam she hardly needing anything special. She was lucky to have him. When Haley heard the door she quickly answered it. She was dressed in a cute red dress, her hair was curly and down. She opened the door and motioned for Cam to come in. "Hey you....I missed you. Haven't seen you since the brunch." She walked over and gave him a kiss.

Cam's weekend had been rather uneventful...okay that was a lie...the brunch had been very...very eventful, but luckily he hadn't been involved in any of the drama. He'd just sat back and watched, glad that neither her or his girlfriend were mixed up in it. They were mixed up in something with Aly Durand though. He wasn't sure what, but he'd done what Haley had asked him and Aly had been really nice to him during brunch and she'd never really been nice before, so whatever she was up to, Cam decided not to worry or care about it, as long as he stayed on the girl's good side.
He'd spent a lot of the rest of the weekend at home. He'd worked on some research he was doing, watched some movies, and just did typical Cam things. He'd wanted to see Haley a little more than he had, but he knew that she had more friends than him and while he might want to spend every waking minute with her, she might not necessarily felt the same. Holding back from calling her all the time was torturous sometimes, but Cam managed best he could, simply calling before bed to talk for a bit and say good night.
He'd been really happy when she'd texted him earlier that day, asking him to come over for dinner. He was so excited, he'd even gone into his parent's wine collection and pulled out something nice. Cam had never really drank the way that he knew Haley and her friends did sometimes, he'd never been drunk before, but he had a glass of wine on rare occasions and it seemed like the romantic thing to do.
He got into his car and started to drive there, last minute deciding on picking up flowers, just because. He bought a dozen roses, for no other reason than it seemed like the romantic thing to do and Cameron so desperately wanted Haley to see how much he cared about her. He knew they were together now and Haley seemed really happy when they were together, but Cam was still really afraid of losing her. After all, she was still totally out of his league and everyone knew it.
When Cameron got to her house he pulled into her driveway and parked the car. He rang the bell and Haley was there in an instant...looking gorgeous as always. "You look beautiful," he told her before she kissed him. "Ah, yes, brunch, that was quite interesting," he commented. "Oh, and these are for you," he said, handing her the roses, "and I brought this for dinner," he added holding up the Petite Sirah he'd selected. He didn't really know anything about wine at all but his parents did, so he could trust anything that they had was good.

Haley took the wine and roses and looked the wine over, "Nice choice, you know this wine can date back to about 1878.....my dad is a wine buff." Haley knew a lot about wine, alcohol and other stuff. Her dad visited Napa Valley all the time to go t a vineyard there. Although her family did not have a wine collection. It never lasted long with Haley's mother around. She knew her wine. Well not all wines, but enough about wine. Dark wines were here specialty, cause she hated the taste of white wine.
"The flowers are lovely. You are just getting sweeter. I better be careful or some other girl might try and steal you from me." Haley walked into the kitchen where she looked in a cabinet and brought a vase down. She filled it with water and placed the flowers on the counter top. "I hope you like chicken Parmesan. With some pasta, garlic bread, salad and a lovely dessert." Granted Haley could not cook, even if she wished she could, so she actually had someone help her cook. But she boiled the noodles and made the salad and the brownies.
"I admit I had help cooking, but I hope you like it." She told Cam. Haley was not afraid to admit her faults or anything. She was just scared for the people at school to find out. If they knew about her obsession with the Punisher or Superman she would surely be laughed at. Haley had a huge comic book collection. She even had yet to show Cam.
"Come it's ready and on the table. You have excellent timing. I like that." She kissed his cheek and led him to the tiny romantic setting. "So how has your weekend been." Haley rather enjoyed their night time conversations. But she did like seeing her boyfriend in person too.

"Yeah...I...don't really know...my parents keep a lot of wine around the house," he admitted with a shrug. "Ah your dad...I'll have to get him a bottle sometime...or would that be awkward?" he asked. Cameron didn't really know how to act around Haley's dad yet. He still couldn't work out if the man liked him or not.
"Oh...thanks...I guess I just wanted to do something nice," he said with a smiled, watching as she put the water in flowers. He was glad that she knew what to do with them because he didn't at all. His mom always dealt with that sort of thing, her or the housekeepers. "Oh yeah," he smiled, "I love chicken parm and with pasta and all that...it sounds amazing," he said, his eyes dancing as they followed Haley around the room. "Did I mention you look gorgeous...because that dress...it's....nice, really nice," he said, loving the way she looked in it. He hadn't had many chances to see Haley this dressed up before. He wished that he'd dressed nicer. He might have shown up with wine and roses but he was still wearing jeans, a sweater, and sneakers.
"It's okay, I don't really know how to cook either," Cameron admitted. "My parents have a cook usually. My mom sometimes will do the basic stuff, but usually its just the cook or take out on her nights off," he smiled. "And I'm sure it will be great," he smiled, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her in for a kiss before she announced that the dinner was already ready. Cam was hungry but Haley was seriously hot and Cam wanted her...as much as he looked forward to the dinner she'd planned, he was still a guy and he knew it would be hard getting through the dinner, as he wanted to skip straight for the after dinner sex. Okay...maybe he shouldn't assume that sex would be involved tonight...but he really hoped that it would.
"Great," he smiled, as she let him to her set up. "Very nice," he said, pulling out Haley's chair for her. Once she sat down he walked to the other side of the table and took his seat. "My weekend's been okay. Uneventful," he shrugged. "What about you? Anything exciting?" he asked, wishing he had more to share but he really didn't. He'd mostly just read and done boring nerd stuff, that he doubted Haley would be interested in anyway.

Haley smirked and put the bottle down. "You kidding. Forget awkward the guy might just hug you. My dad loves wine. He could go on for at least two hours just talking about the different vineyard he has taken me and my mother too. If you brought him wine he might talk your ear off." Haley told Cam. She was not real serious about him bringing her dad wine. She was just referring to the fact her dad enjoyed it.
"My dad has three passions in life. Wine, his job and taking care of me. You have two out of the three on your side, which is good." Her father just enjoyed giving her men a hard time. Besides having them a little scared was never a bad thing. "Telling me I am gorgeous is a sure way into my very good graces." Haley said softly as he pulled her in for a kiss. "Very bold to just pull me in for a kiss like that....i like it."
He was learning. Good. Haley had to teach Cam some things. People might see it as her trying to change him, and yes she kind of was as much as she said she did not want to. In Haley's mind she was just making him more confident. Teaching him to take kisses when he wanted and make decisions he wanted rather then leaving it up to her. Just little things so she did not run the relationship. Not that she minded it.
"If my mom ever cooked that would be the day pigs fly. She would be too worried she might break a nail. So we leave the cooking to out maid, or take out, or in my case a little of both." She sat down as he pulled the chair out. "Always a gentleman. I like that too." She poured them both some wine as they sat down to eat. Haley knew where the night would end. But who said that was all they had to do.
"Besides the brunch, I have been setting up for my party next week. There was a party held by someone I use to know. I went for a little bit, but it was rather boring actually. Besides that I have been brushing up on my comics." She admitted wondering how he would take the last statement.

"Oh...okay," he said, taking Haley's suggestion seriously. He knew that her dad was away on business right now, but he'd make sure to bring him a bottle of wine when he got back. He knew that anything his parents bought was good so he wasn't really worried about picking. He really wanted Haley's dad to like him because he knew that Haley was close with him. He honestly didn't get the whole joke that he was just giving him a hard time because he could.
Cameron blushed when Haley mentioned the fact that she liked the fact that he'd taken the initiative to kiss him. Had that really been the first time he'd done that? He usually thought about kissing Haley all the time... But he supposed that he had let Haley take the lead for the most part. She was more experienced than him anyway.
He nodded when Haley explained about her mom and cooking. He knew that Haley wasn't exactly fond of her mother, so he usually didn't mention her much unless he had to. "Well, this looks amazing. You did a great job," he grinned. He opened up the bottle of wine and poured Haley a glass and then one for himself. "Shall we?" he said, holding up the glasses to make a toast. "To us," he said, clinking his glass against hers before taking a sip. The wine was good...at least he liked it. He then started to dig into the food. "This is great," he smiled.
"Oh right, your party," he said. "I'm looking forward to that." And he was, but he was also really nervous about it. He hadn't really hung out with Haley's friends in a party setting yet and it did put him a little on edge. His ears did perk up however when Haley mentioned comics. "Oh...are you into...stand up comedy? I hadn't realized..." He assumed that this was what she meant because there was no way she could be referring to comic books. Girls like Haley just didn't like things like comic books...not in real life at least. Only in the movies and on TV really hot girls were into nerd stuff...right?

If Haley knew her dad's joking ways might have made Cam the slightest uncomfortable, she would tell her dad to take it easy, but joking was a form of endearment from her father. As far as Haley knew her dad thought Cam to be the least threatening out of all her past men, which meant he was the perfect boyfriend for her. Either way when it came to guys Haley could be pretty secretive if she wanted, but there was no need for obvious reasons.
She was thankful Cam seemed to pick up on certain hints. For example she hated talking about her mother. Thank god her mom had yet to meet Cam. Haley could see that meeting not going well at all. So it was best to avoid Mama Rowan. Haley tasted the food. " Apparently following a recipe does work." She said with a laugh, "Its nice to know in the future I won't starve." It was a simple joke that basically meant she would not starve cause she could follow a recipe. Haley held up her glass and smiled as she clincked it against his, "I have to admit, when I first met you I never thought you would have asked me out. I am glad you did."
That was another thing. When she said yes orginally and kissed Cam it had been simply because she felt bad for him. Then she saw Wynn in the door and his face and then Cam's face, and in truth Cam's face seemed more heart wrenching. That and for obvious reasons Cam was more moldable, as bad as that sounded. In reality Haley had not thought she would survive the first date. As mean as it is Haley expected the first date to be boring, but Cameron Whitlock was surprising. Haley ended up really liking Cam. After the last three weeks of dating Haley was finding out she liked Cam more then she thought.
They ate the dinner and Haley drank quite a bit of wine, but not too much. She stood up and walked the dishes to the sink then came back and stood behind Cam. Haley delicatly began a massage on his shoulders. "Have I told you how much I appreciate you?" To be honest Haley was not good with just giving thanks. Her way to thank Cam was through...well what most men wanted....sex. thank you sex was nice. But that would come later. For now she could kind of seduce him for fun. She had to let out a laugh when he mistook her comic comment.
"First I am glad you like the dinner. Second I do like stand up comedy, but I was refering to books." It was a simple statment as she whispered it near his ear. Maybe instead of bed for once they could actually stay up just getting to know one another. She was itching to share her love of comics with someone who would not blab.

"Yeah, I'd imagine so," Cam said. He'd never really tried following a recipe because he'd never really had to cook before, but he imagined that there was a reason they wrote the instructions down like that. He sort of thought of cooking as he did of chemistry...if you mix the right things together and follow the procedure correctly, you'd get the right result. Hmmm cooking was sort of like a science...wasn't it? Cam thought maybe he should try it sometime. He was great at science so maybe he'd be good at cooking. He smiled, "Well, next time maybe I'll make dinner," he said, "try out this recipe thing you speak so highly of." He smiled again.
He stared at her for a moment when she admitted that she never thought he would ask her out. "Haley, asking you out was pretty much all I thought about from the moment I met you...and trust me, if I ever thought I'd have a chance, I would have done it much sooner..." But of course he'd been right to think he didn't have a chance back then, because he really hadn't. He'd been competing with Wynn. But he'd won out in the end. He had no idea it was because he'd just looked more pathetic in the moment, but he didn't really care anyway. It didn't matter what Haley's reasons for saying yes had been, because Cam wasn't an idiot, he knew that for a long time Haley's feelings didn't match his own--she'd gone on the loud speaker and said it even, so obviously he'd gotten that message loud and clear. What mattered was how she felt about him now. And yes, Cam still doubted her feelings a little sometimes, but that was only due to his own insecurities because he still felt like he wasn't good enough for her. It seemed like she liked him a lot now and that was all that mattered really. Now he just had to make sure not to screw it up.
Cameron sipped his wine a little more slowly. He wasn't used to drinking any more than a glass and he wasn't sure he was ready to be drunk. He'd never been drunk but he knew it made people act stupid sometimes. Cam didn't really want that. He was just fine with just having one drink and calling it a night. He smiled when she started talking about appreciating him. "Well, I think the dinner does a good job of showing that," he pointed out, completely clueless to the fact that Haley was thinking about sex and all that. Cam wanted that of course, how could he not with a girl as amazing and sexy as Haley, but while he did feel comfortable enough to pull Haley in for kisses, he didn't feel comfortable enough asking for sex yet. He would just do that when she wanted it. She started to massage his shoulders and Cam smiled and felt slightly turned on. If he hadn't already had sex on the brain...he would have after the massage.
"You like comic books?" he asked, turned and looking up at her. A girl as amazing and sexy as Haley liked comic books. If it was possible, Cam felt himself falling in love a little more. "Which ones do you like?" he asked, getting excited. Sure, he wasn't into comic books as much as say, Wynn or some of the others, but he liked them and read them a lot. Although, not so much recently since he'd traded his comic books in to be with Haley...or so he thought. But it seemed like he could have both... It was at that moment that Cam felt like the luckiest guy in the world.
