Caitlin and Dena had stayed up most of the night -- plotting and giggling and taking silly pictures took up lots of time -- and thus overslept. They'd barely had enough time to help one another adjust costumes -- with much giggling -- before pestering Frank Alderman to drive his daughter and her 'best friend' to the Arcade. "Thanks, dad! Call you when we're done!" The Rikku look alike chirped as she hopped out of the van.
"Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill!!!" Caitlin screeched, the multitude of blonde braids of her wig bouncing behind her as she dragged Dena along with her. The rain had been no deterrant to the two girls; they were determined to dress up and look cute as their favorite video game characters, and nothing so mundane as weather could stop them. "I brought Dena with me!" She announced as she skipped to a halt in front of the boy. Blue eyes scanned his outfit, disappointment showing on her face as she realized he wasn't in costume. "You didn't dress up!" She accused sadly. "You don't have a costume? You should've told us, we could've helped!"
She sighed, then pulled Dena closer to her, under the awning and out of the rain. "So where d'you wanna eat? We had Fuddruckers last night, so that's out, kay?" She informed him, entwining her fingers with the other girl's and bouncing on the balls of her feet. "And we were gonna have El Pollo Loco tonight. So umm yeah, anything else is totally fine, though!"

Will sat outside the arcade, waiting in anxious excitement for his date to arrive. He was also excited about his costume and bowling, but the thought of sharing lunch with a pretty girl like Caitlin Alderman was definitely going to be the high point of the day.
Th abrupt wail from the parking lot caught his attention, but as a smile started to grow across his face it morphed into a look of absolute shock. The pretty young girl wasn't wearing much other than a short skirt, a bikini top, a large scarf, and various other accoutrements. She was also joined by another scantily clad young lady who had the appearance of Dena Zouvelekis, but in the costume Will couldn't be too sure.
The pair came to a halt with Caitlin confirming her partner was Dena. Will did his best to mask the disappointment he felt in discovering that Caitlin obviously didn't think this was a date. Luckily, that wasn't too hard as his jaw was still somewhat ajar. He did his best to recover, then answered the girl.
“I did too dress up!” he cried in defense. “I just don't want to give it away yet.” He grinned, excited for the reveal. Though he may not be able to look at Caitlin or Dena too often, or his costume might turn from hilarious to hilariously awkward. “I figured we could just get some pizza over there at Pagliai's. Unless you two had something else planned?”

Most girls would be a little self conscious, at the very least, running through a crowded mall just a little bit wet, and a lot underdressed. But, Caitlin and Dena weren’t most girls, and Dena was having a blast letting her girlfriend pull her towards the arcade. Not at the very least, they were getting a lot of attention as they did. Caitlin screaming at their friend at the top of her lungs helped in that matter too, though, she was sure, most of that attention was largely due to their lack of clothing. Which was fine too, she knew she looked good, and Caitlin was hot, they were worth being stared at. Especially as they had just passed the comic book store and were nearing the arcade, both meccas for geeks who would surely appreciate the awesomeness of their costumes.
“Hey Will!” she greeted, though not as enthusiastic as her girlfriend, she didn’t shout after all. She snuggled as close to Caitlin as possible, ready to defend that action as wanting to stay out of the rain and warm up. “You’re lucky, cause we would have totally told you off.” she teased, looking forward to seeing Will dressed up. The more the merrier. She really hoped that there would be more dressed up at the alley, it would look so cool. Though, no one would look as good as Caitlin and herself, clearly.
“Pizza, mmm, I’m happy with pizza!” she agreed, playfully bumping Caitlin’s hip with her own. “I’m warning you, you even have one bite of garlic bread, and I’m not letting you kiss me for the rest of the day.” she teased playfully. “Okay, today is going to be so fun! Let’s get going, I’m so hungry. We didn’t have breakfast, we slept in.” she explained to Will, not considering how that sounded. It had been such a good morning though, perfect start to what was sure to be a great day.

Sandy saw the girls beeline to the arcade. "Greg, there's Caitlin, the mastermind behind all this!" She grinned at her brother. "Now we have to get me inside before the green make up washes off." She hinted at him to get out of the car and carry the umbrella for her.
"Fine, fine Sandra Louise." He chided her, which was give a harsh look from Sandy, who hated being called by her real name. He did his brotherly duty though, last thing he needed was to be picking his sister's homework while she recovered from a cold or worse.
There were a few looks from older people, after all who would expect to see an ogre princess and the king of rock n roll together and at an arcade of all places?
Once the two were inside and dry, Greg shook the excess of the rainwater from the umbrella. "Who ever ordered the rain today was not in their right mind, neither was wearing a ton of green makeup." Sandy said making sure everything was adjusted just so.
The duo walked over to the trio. "You guys look great!" Sandy commented on the girls' costumes. "As does what ummm what ever your supposed to be." She said rather embarrassed that she really didn't know what Will was dressed as. "I hope it was fine to bring my brother along, he couldn't resist me having fun without him!" She loved to tease Greg.

"Mmmmhmmmm." Caitlin eyed Will suspiciously. She couldn't see anywhere to hide an awesome costume, but he was the one who'd suggested costumes, so surely he would be telling the truth about wearing one? "It'd better be super duper awesometastic or Dena and I are gonna be real upset with you. And then we'll....we'll.....I don't know yet, but it'll be bad." She threatened, doing her best to look menacing but failing. "Cause we gotta get lotsa pictures, and it'll look silly if we're in costume and you're not."
She nodded enthusiastically at the idea of pizza, "Yeah! Pizza is a great idea! Will, you're totes our idea man, 'kay? Is that okay, Dena, can we kidnap Will and make him come up with awesome ideas and we'll take all the credit?" She stuck her tongue out at the other girl at the comment on garlic bread, "Nuh-uh! You wouldn't do that, I'm irresistible!" She pulled free from her girlfriend in order to strike a pose, "And you loooooove me too much. And garlic is the best, don't be hatin'!"
She hadn't been expecting the arrival of anyone else until the actual bowling event, but it didn't bother her in the least that Sandy and Greg were early, "Eee! Sandy, I love your costume!!" She announced, flinging herself around the red-head. "And you, too, Greg. Are you gonna sing for us? You totally should." She giggled, releasing the younger Meyers and peering over her shoulder at the abysmal weather. "Yeah, the rain kinda sucks." She agreed, "But whatever, right? We'll have fun anyway!"
She gestured to Dena and Will, "We were gonna go get pizza, wanna come with?"

The disappointment Will had felt upon seeing Dena tagging along with Caitlin was quickly replaced with curiosity. The girls hanging off one another didn't really strike Will as being odd until Dena mentioned something about kissing. Just about any boy might perk up at the mention of girls kissing, and girls dressed up as crazy anime characters were extra enticing. Will had never known any girls who actually liked other girls, and the thought never crossed his mind that Caitlin might not want to date him for those reasons.
His thoughts were interrupted by the arrival of two more people, some early comers. He recognized one as Sandy Meyers, though she was caked in green make-up. She was a nice girl, though not someone he'd normally hang out with. “Hey, the girl from Shrek!” Will said jovially. “And Elvis! Nice costumes!” He couldn't help but smile, even though the day was getting more and more dorky. Still, as long as no one from the swim team saw him he figured he'd be safe. “My costume is to be revealed once we're bowling, no sooner! You'll see!” He turned to the Elvis, finally recognizing him. “You're Greg Meyers! We haven't actually met yet, I'm Will. My mom was a huge fan of yours!” Will stuck out his hand to greet the celebrity. That definitely upped the coolness of the event.
The thought of hanging out with both Caitlin and Dena put all sorts of thoughts in Will's head, and though it would be sucky to be the third wheel sometimes, it could also be quite interesting. “Umm, sure I guess.” Still, what other ideas could he have? “And the costume is superdupertastic, or whatever you said. Just you wait!” He was excited to show the girls, hoping it might impress them as much as their costumes, well, impressed him.
“All right, let's get some 'za!” He led the group down the way to Pagliai's, one of his favorite pizza places. They were quickly seated, as the place seemed fairly empty. That was probably good for them, as Caitlin could be quite loud, and they were already drawing a lot of attention. “So I'm a sausage guy, whatever veggies you want. There's five of us, so we probably need two? What do you guys think?”
