Oh if Gage knew what Reese was planning for him, he wouldn't have gotten out of his house that afternoon. Why was he always asking for trouble? First with Hannah and now with Reese. He could remember the time when all his worries involved getting his orange leather ball into the hoop. Now he had to think about Hannah every time he talked to a girl lest he saw her with one and immediately thought that he was cheating on her. Girls were tiring and he wasn't even involved with either one fo them. Now that was a bit sad.
He tried insisting on paying for his stuff but Reese had already taken out her money and placed it in the cashier's hand. Gage didn't understand why she was doing it since they had just really started talking a few minutes ago. He decided to just shrug it off and chalk it up to being extra lucky today. Once they were in Reese's car, the fact that she wanted to meet Genny kind of shocked him. What was her game? He asked himself. Could it really simply be because she was nice? But she was a bit...full of herself in the beginning. People don't do 180 degrees turn around in just a few minutes...
Trying to stop thinking the worst about the situation, Gage saw it as an opportunity to gain a new friend. Why it had to be another girl who happened to be a cheerleader, he wasn't about to question it. "Yeah...Genny would like that. She likes making new friends..." Gage smiled as he belted up. He gave her specific directions to his house and leaned back to relax in his seat.

Reese drove to his house keeping up the conversation. Pulling up front she parked the car grabbed the bag and got out. She waited for him before she locked her car doors. "How long have you and Genny been friends?" It would be a good way to get on his side, by becoming friends with his best friend. Of course that meant at school she would have to watch her behavior which she could do. Could only bring the bitch out when she could not get caught acting that way. "I don't really have a best friend, I know the girls on the team and the popular girls but no best friends."
She never trust another girl enough to let her in. You can not trust girls they will stab you in the back quicker then you can talk to them. She let him open the door before following him in. "You have a nice home, very homey" she gave him a smile. She was glad she did know her way aorund the kitchen and could do whatever without looking like a fool and having to ask for help.
"I can get started on the tea now" she offered as she took his things out of the bag. "So that way you can get your mom her medicine and stuff" she offered sweetly with a smile smile on her face.

She was a pleasant conversationalist, something Gage didn't expect coming from a cheerleader. When they arrived at his apartment, he took the bags of his groceries and helped Reese with hers before walking up the two flights of stairs to his apartment, passing Genny's on the way. He was tempted to knock on her apartment door but for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to. What if Genny saw Reese and came up with the wrong conclusion about them?
Although he wasn't entirely convinced that Genny would be so petty, there was a possibility that Genny might think Gage was trying hard to win over the cheerleaders. Like he already had with Hannah. Not that he had won her over anyway. It was evident in this moment; him walking up the stairs to his apartment with a girl who was going to make tea for his mother...
"Me and Genny have been friends since we were in the first grade, I think. She moved into the apartment below mine." Gage explained as he fumbled with the keys. Once the door was opened, he ushered Reese in, thinking nothing of the condition of the house. He wasn't exactly the richest on the team, in fact he thought he was probably the poorest of them all. Not that he cared. Dawson had big plans for their little family once he went into the big leagues. And that wasn't too far off. His winning streak hasn't died down yet and there were already a few talent scouts hounding their doorstep.
Gage personally didn't want to move. He thought the four bedroom apartment, however cramped it was, was home. He had grown up in this house and he found his first true friend in this house too. He wasn't sure if he was ready to give up the little apartment if and when Dawson finally hit the big times.
He didn't think about Reese's potential reaction over the tiny place so he just walked in, announcing to his mother of his return as he went to the kitchen to put all the things in place. When she complimented the house, he beamed and nodded. "I know. My mom's an amazing housemaker. Well she's Wonder Woman really. Keeping the house, working two jobs..." he confessed, something he hadn't been able to do with anyone except for Genny.
Shaking his head, he looked at Reese and smiled lightly. "Thanks, Reese. I really appreciate this." He grabbed the medicine bottle and a spoon before going to his mother's room. "Hey Ma, we have a visitor. She's on the cheerleading squad. She's making tea." He smiled as he poured a little bit of the medicine on to a tablespoon. Louisa opened her eyes and smiled at her son before sitting up in her bed to accept the medicine.
"There you go. Open wide." Gage teased his mother as he slipped the spoon into his mother's mouth.
"Ugh yuck...what is that?" Louisa screwed her nose up. Gage chuckled at his mother's reaction. "Ma you should have seen your face." He imitated his mother very poorly which earned him a smack on the arm. "That was something gross, Gage."
"It's supposed to help! Hey, you made me eat stuff like this when I was sick and I never complained!"
"That's because you're a good boy." Louisa smile affectionately and patted his cheeks. "Now where is this friend of yours? I'm glad you're making friends. About time too. You would think Genny would be bored of you by now. That girl is a saint to keep you as her friend for so long."
"MA!"

"Well your mom sounds great" Reese smile. She herself could never be happy in such a small place. She loved her big house and her big closet, she loved the fact she could go in her house and go anywhere and not have to see someone. And she felt like the princess she was in the house. Sure they had a few peopel that worked for them and they did do stuff for themsevles but in her house Reese was the princess and it was clear because she has the biggest bedroom and got whatever she wanted whenever she wanted it.
She made the tea and headed back to the room she saw Gage go toward. With a soft knock she came into the room carrying the tea. "Hi" she said to the woman that was his mother. "I come bearing tea, this will help you" she put it on the table by the bed. "I am Reese a friend of Gage's" she said with a smile. She was good with parents, she knew how to make them like her. She put on the good girl act and did not act like she normally did, full of herself and a bitch and demanding. She is unlike anyone else she can tell herself she acts like that and it did not hurt her feelings when someone called her name.
"How was the medcine?" she asked. "I know it does not taste good but when I was really sick before it helped me out and knocked whatever I had out of my system in a few days" she said with another smile. She figured it would be good to have his mom like her, and he would eventually want to get even closer to her over time.

When Reese walked in with the tea, it was a sight Gage wasn't used to. The only girl that ever graced the apartment was Genny after all. Even his elder brothers didn't bring any of their girlfriends or girl friends over. It was also something new to Louisa but she smiled at Reese politely. "Oh sweetheart, you shouldn't have." She patted Reese over the hand and looked at Gage with a knowing smile. Gage looked away, pretending like he didn't see it.
"The medicine was horrible but you know what they say. Whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger." Louisa laughed. Gage followed in the laughter and turned to Reese with a smile. "Reese, this is my mom. Mom, this is Reese."
Louisa offered her hand out. "Don't call me Mrs. Foster, just a warning. Genny usually just calls me Louisa. You've met Genny of course?"
"Not really Ma. Truth is, Reese and Genny and me, we run in different circles. We're all friends and all but big school...we tend to not see each other." Gage shrugged with his explanation.
"But you're on the basketball team and she's a cheerleader." Louisa pointed out the obvious. "Well yeah but it's not like we hang out all the time. I mean Ma, this isn't One Tree Hill." Gage chuckled.
"Why do you tease me?" Louisa shook her head in amusement. "I'm sorry Reese, whatever you see in my son, it's not real. He's just a spoiled boy with a weird sense of humor." She grinned. Gage pretended to be hurt. "Ma! That is so mean!"

Reese could tell how close Gage was to his mother. "I would not dream of calling you anything but Louise. You look much to young to be the mother of a teenager" she said with a smile. She moved back after she sat the tea down. "You are so very right, it is the stuff that is bad in life that makes us stronger." She was stronger for the fact that she found out she is adopted and her parents were going to never tell her and lie to her the rest of her life. She loved them but she was torn, should she find her birth parents or not. It could be a good thing or a bad thing knowing who they are. "I must say Louise you raised a very fine son" she said. And it was true, he was a good guy, so she was actually being honest and sincere when she said it.
Reese laughed at the joke the mother and son shared. "Well I am looking forward to meeting Genny" she said. Two people in her cornor were a good thing. "I was telling him he is lucky to have a best friend" she said with a smile. Maybe one day she would have a best friend of course more then likely not. For the rest of her life it would be like it is not all superficaly friendships. Sure she was a bitch but people never wanted to get to know the person she is under the bitch personality. When it comes to her family she is sweet and nice and kind and soft. But no one has proven to her they want to get to know her, or tried to push past her when she acts like a bitch toward them. And to be honest she gave up any hope that would ever happen. "I may be a cheerleader but that doesn't mean I can't be friends with people that aren't" she said. She only stuck with the popular crowd but she did not say that out loud.
She felt her phone vibrate in her purse and took it out. "Oh I am so sorry I have to go. My mom is home and she wants to do some stuff" she said. "Perhaps I will see you again Louise" she smiled at her. If she had her way she would, and she would be sure to go out of her way to be extra nice to Gage and Genny at school. "It was good seeing you again Gage give me a call sometime" she said. "And I hope you feel better soon Louse" she said. She left the bedroom grabed her bag of stuff and headed home.
(Do you want to tag or wrap. That way we each can post in the new time change :-). I had a great time posting in this thread)

Louisa smiled at how polite Reese was. She was glad her son was making new friends and starting with people who actually seemed pretty decent, especially for a young teenage cheerleader. Though Louisa found something amiss in Reese, she didn't question it, just happy her son had a good head on his shoulder.
Gage blushed deeply when Reese complimented him as well when he complimented Louisa on her parenting skills. Of course, Gage no doubt thought his mother was an amazing woman and had gone through so many trials and tribulations but still managed to hold her head up high and with such grace and composure. Not even losing the love of her life made her any weaker than Gage or his siblings had been losing their beloved father. But it didn't change the fact that Reese also thought he was a good guy. It was all his mother's upbringing.
"You'll love her. She's awesome. She wants to be a marine biologist coz she loves dolphins so much and she's really into the whole studying thing which I am too but not as much as her." Gage said in one breath, trying to diffuse the awkwardness he was starting to feel. When his mother looked at him weirdly, not used to seeing her youngest son blabber so much, he shrugged and gave her a smile. "And yeah, totally I mean Genny doesn't discriminate. I mean I'm a jock but she's still friends with me. Although I'm not that big of a deal on the court but still...I'm part of the team and she's still my best friend so...yeah." He nodded, shoving his hands in his pockets.
He didn't know what it was about Reese that made him so nervous but he was exactly that. Sure she was pretty but so's Genny but he doesn't go all bumbling fool around her. And Hannah...he had been comfortable around her too. A bit shy but still not babbling that much...he didn't like her as much as he liked Hannah did he? It was only one date but Hannah had been fun. He liked having fun with her. Reese was...different let's just put it at that.
When she announced her leave, Gage immediately stood up and walked her to the door. "Thanks for everything, Reese. You didn't have to do any of it but...thanks." Gage smiled. With her invitation to call her sometime, he got a little excited until he realised that he didn't have her number. He wanted to call her back but decided against it for fear of looking desperate. It was just not cool to look desperate in front of a cheerleader so he kept things to himself. With a smile, he closed his door and went back to take care of his mother.
[OOC: Wrap! I had a great time too!]
