Braedan took the offered gloves before entering the ring, he didn't bother to check whether the other boy was doing likewise, he would be interested to see what the boy would do in the ring. He half expected to get whacked on the back of the head by the git, but that didn't really bother him, it was actually getting seriously hurt before the game this week. The coach would be extremely displeased with him if he couldn't play, so letting this guy win was not on the cards. Not without causing the man some serious pain along the way.
"Thanks." Braedan said to the boy who had passed him the gloves, they hadn't drawn much of a crowd which would probably be a good thing for the loser. That might change when people hear a couple of people had got in the ring, but some how he doubted it. He just wanted a peaceful work out, now because this idiot had caught him staring at the mirror image of him they were in the ring. "Lets get this over with, I'm looking forward to a big mac and french fries." Braedan said to his opponent, someone he hadn't even bothered to get a name from before the proverbial hit the fan.

Xavier took the gloves and gave them the once over, checking to make sure there was nothing that might impend him or cause major bodily harm to the kid in the ring. He slid his hands into the gloves getting a feel for them.
He studied his opponent carefully. He thought the kid would expect higher hits so it was better to keep things low and inside as much as possible, that was his plan...at least for now.
"A Big Mac and fries?" Xavier chuckled slightly. "The only you'll enjoy those is pureed and through a straw." He was a big talker, he really had no clue if he could take this guy down or not but just the thought of it was there.
His cockiness was getting the better of him. "You know because I'm such a sport, I'll even offer you a free hit, just keep it above the waist." He left out one key word though, and that was "one". One free hit above the waist.
That was his big mistake.
He didn't see where the first punch was coming from to protect himself. He barely got a few shots in before he was down face first on the mat.

He caught all six seconds of the exchange on his digital camera, not discluding Xavier's smart talk, and couldn't help but shake his head in noticable disappointment of the brevity of the conflict.
"Five ounce gloves tend to do that to a boxer.." commented Raphael dryly, nodding towards the other boy's lifeless form. "They tend to try and cover up with the glove..."
"Too bad he's not dealing with the fat boxer's gloves... There's very little room for error with those.."

Braedan chuckled when he was done looking down at the boy on the mat, he looked at the other boy who had given his gloves and smiled. "I particularly don't like Bullies, he pushed it to this stage and at the end of the day he got what he deserved. Maybe this course in humility will teach him some respect. Though I think thats probably a little to much to ask I think." Braedan said as he took the gloves of and handed them back to the boy. "Thanks for the gloves, a hell of a lot saver than bare knuckles." he said with a smile.
"I doubt that I have heard the last of this encounter, but I wonder how much of this he wants around the school. If you want to give the whole school something to talk about stick that on a site and let people watch it. If not destroy it and the only people who need to know about it are you I and what ever his name is." Braedan said as he climbed out of the ring and dropped down to the floor. "I've never met such a big putz as I have him." Braedan added.
"I'd love to stay and chat, but I have plans... under any other circumstances it would have been a pleasure to meet you, but unfortunately not. Hopefully next time we meet it won't involve you reffing a fight." Braedan said to him then walked away from the ring still a little angry that he had been goaded into having a fight with the twat.
