"Ah, perfect," Riley said quietly to herself, as she she pulled an awesome beaded necklace out of one of the bins. Sure, Riley had money now, but that didn't mean that she was above shopping at thrift stores. Sure not everything at the thrift store was great, but you could find some pretty amazing things if you just took the time to look.
And considering that Jasper had been in a mood all morning, Riley was taking her time, digging through everything...she was in no rush to go home. Jasper wouldn't tell her what had happened either. All he would say was that someone would have to pay. Riley didn't really like the sound of that, but at the same time, whatever had angered her brother had to be serious because he had had the security code for their room changed. Riley had found this out the the previous day when she'd come home to get denied in the elevator when she'd typed in the wrong code.
Holding the necklace, Riley decided that she was over the rest of the jewelry. She decided to see if they had any cool skirts. She'd spotted some cool 80s stuff when she'd walked in that might be fun to check out. She took a step back, ready to go check out the clothes when she bumped someone slightly.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Riley said as she tucked some of her long blonde hair behind her ear and turned to see who she bumped.

Casper smiled as he looked through the tat looking for one piece of good jellewery. He was looking for a sorry gift for his brother, who had been persuaded into going with him to the auction tomorrow. His brother really didn't want to go to the party in question, he had other plans but Casper had persuaded him into keeping him Casper company. As a result he was assured that his brother was losing out on a hot date for tomorrow night, Lewis was going to milk it for sure but he didn't mind. He just wasn't in the mood to go alone to a party full of people he either didn't know or didn't want to know. That would be embarrassing to say the least, he didn't do well in big crowds or he thought he did.
A girl bumping into him brought him out of his seach, he looked at said girl plastered his best smile on his face, knowing that sometimes it was a little over kill, as the girl apologised to him. If it had been someone less cute he might have been a pig about it all, but she was pretty cute so he went for another approach put the smile on that broke more than a few hearts.
"Its cool, no harm done." Casper said to her. "Who knew a place like this could have some cool bead work in it." Casper said to her.

Riley nodded, glad that the guy she'd bumped didn't mind. He was pretty cute, tall, dressed nice. But then was looking for jewelry in the thrift store. Probably looking for a girlfriend or something, so Riley ignored the cute factor. While she was very single at the moment, didn't even have anyone she was really interested, she wasn't desperate either. Riley was never desperate. She had never been one of those girls who needed to have a guy. She had no problem being single. "Uh, yeah, thrift stores can have some really awesome stuff. Sure its a little hit or miss sometimes and you have to dig, but they're fun," she said, holding up the necklace she had found. Definitely a treasure.
Riley, herself looked a bit out of place in the thrift store as she was dressed up very nice as she tended to be. A present she had on a DVF printed dress with Marc Jacobs kitten heels and one of her favorite Chanel necklaces. Sure, she never wore those outfits that screamed labels or anything, that was tacky, but anyone looking at her could tell that her clothes were expensive.
"There is not too much in there," she told the boy, who seemed interested in the jewelry. "But I think there might be another one like this, if you're looking for beaded stuff," she said, offering her help.

Casper smiled at her, "Thanks, I'm not sure their is anything that I could give him as a present here, I may have to go somewhere a little more specialist. Or ask my cousins back home to send something for me, we kind of collect not this persay but..." Casper started then pulled his necklace out it was a leather band with a few beeds and a tribal design made out of what looked like very thin silver. "He didn't want to go to this auction tomorrow night, so when I twisted his arm into going I decided to make it up to him some other way." Casper said to her. "I will owe him big time for this." he added.
Casper sived through the necklaces, "I'm Casper by the way." he said to her smiling once more as he stood back to his full height groaning as his neck clicked. "You go to Silver right, I'm pretty sure I've seen you there." Casper asked her with a smile rolling his head his neck clicking again and he sighed. "I thought this place was a good place to look for a thank you gift or sorry, maybe I'll find something else around here. None of these are for Lew." Casper said to her.

Him....looking for jewelry for a guy. Well, to each their own, Riley guessed. It gave her the mental image of shopping for jewelry for her brother, which was just bizaar...and funny. A nice watch maybe, or some cuff-lings, but Jasper didn't wear jewelry. None of the guys she knew wore jewelry, not even the gay ones. But maybe some guys actually liked jewelry. But even so, Riley pointed out another bin to him, "I think that one has some men's things," she offered.
"Riley," she said when he introduced himself. "Yeah, I go to Silver," she said with a nod. "Do you?" Riley didn't recognize him but she seemed to be oblivious like that. She was one of those people that usually didn't remember people unless she actually had talked to them at one point, or if she saw them every day or something, in the case they were in one of her classes, but this guy wasn't in her classes and she'd never talked to him before, so she had no recollection of seeing him. Although she supposed it was fairly easy to run into people from school since it seemed to be one of the larger high schools in the area, larger now that they'd combined with Gould. Part of her wondered if the schools would ever go back to the way they were or if she'd just be going to Gould now for good.
"What auction?" she asked, casually. She was pretty much done with the jewelry now but he was talking to her and it would have been rude to leave. Plus, it was nice having an actual conversation with someone who wasn't her angry brother. She loved Jasper dearly, but his moods could be brutal sometimes.

Casper smiled, "Thanks, I'll have a look." Casper said to her. "No I'm not a member of Silver, I go to the rival school Gould, but since we are all under the same roof I guess you could say I go to Silver as well." Casper said his smile widening further. "Between the two schools life really is never that dole around here." Casper added running his hand through his hair eyes still on the job at hand.
He watched the girl while he was searching for what he was beginning to think was a lost cause, their wasn't anything he thought would be something his little brother would wear. He didn't like to waste money, he might have money to waste but that didn't mean wasting it was a good idea.
"You seriously don't know about the auction going on tomorrow night?" he asked shocked. "The Edwards family from school, is having an auction/party to raise money for the schools after the shooting, or the families possibly both actually not really sure." Casper explained. "So its kind of something worth going to, I imagine most of the girls in the school are out buying dressing and driving their boyfriends or dates around the bend, as they try to coordinate what they wear. Make sure the guys look remotely presentable, I imagine thats hard work in some cases." Casper said to her with a grin on his face.
He hadn't expected company, but it was nice chatting to someone who apparently didn't know him. The nameless girl seemed nice enough however, you could pay for company as good as this he thought to himself.

"Right...rival school," Riley said with a nod. "I sort of missed out on the whole rival thing," she explained. "I was only at Silver like a week and then we were at Gould and then we were back and Silver and now we're at Gould again." Riley shrugged. "So, yeah, I never really saw much of a rivalry, but that's just me. But I agree, I like having the schools combined. Met some cool people from Gould. And apparently one of my friends from New York is a Gould student so I see more of her now." It really was nice getting to see Aly again and it had all worked out so perfectly. They'd run into each other right around Jasper's birthday, right when his trust fund kicked in, so Aly never had to find out that they were momentarily poor.
"Nope," Riley said shaking her head. She supposed she tended to live in her own little world sometimes though. Sort of like the park clean up, she hadn't found out about that until the day of, and apparently the announcement had been a few days prior, maybe even a week, Riley couldn't remember anymore. But she did have a lot to deal with. Maybe they had money again now, but Jasper still seemed more miserable than he'd ever been in New York, her father was still in prison, and her mom was still MIA. She'd gone to San Tropez, but she'd never come back. Riley didn't even know if her mother was ever coming back.
"I don't even know the Edward's," she said, wondering if she should know them. It was still weird in LA. She didn't know the people she was supposed to know. In New York she'd been the notable one...the one people were supposed to know. And while a few people on this coast still seemed to know what the name Hastings meant, a lot did not. "Where is the auction anyway?" she asked, wondering if it was something her brother would be interested. High end affairs were usually right up his ally. "And when did you say it is? Tomorrow night?" she asked, mentally thinking of what she could wear. Oh, well then that was never really an issue for Riley. She had tones of clothes to chose from. Maybe she could even find something to go with the new necklace she planned on purchasing. It might have been from a measly thrift store, but it looked expensive and that's all people cared about anyway.

Casper grinned, "New York great place for shopping and seeing shows, just a really cool place to live... I prefer the heat of LA all year round, but New York would have been a second choice as places go to live." Casper said to her smiling sheepishly.
"The auction is at their house in the hills tomorrow night, it says auction and party, I imagine that most of the people around our age will be going for the party. Which means someone is going to smuggle beer or wine or something in to the house, if the hosts don't do it themselves. No pool though apparently so it means no pool party." Casper explained to her. "If you want to buy things then you should come, if you dont and you just want the food and the company of the people you know you should come. Its all for a good cause." Casper said to her.
He checked his watch sighing disappointedly he needed to get back to the house, "I'd love to stay and chat but I'm expected back at the house soon." Casper said to her with a smile, he fished in his pocket producing a card. "If you want to go and none of your friends can pick you up give me a shout, no strings attached. Just a friend helping a friend out, I had to go up their the other day to drop some items for the auction of, so I know where it is." Casper said to her as he held his hand out with the card. "Or alternatively just text me some time and maybe we can have lunch at school." he added.
Tag or tag for wrap.

"Yes, well I'll always love New York, but LA is a nice change of pace too. Everything's more...relaxed here," Riley said. It was true what they said about the West Coast, it was much more laid back than the hustle and bustle of the east coast. In New York everyone was always in a rush. Here it seemed like things were more chill. And it was true, the weather in LA was certainly more stable. It never got too cold in the winter, or too hot in the summer, she'd been told, while New York winters were freezing and the summers unbearably hot. Riley had never spent much time in the city during the summer though as her family had a vacation place in the Hamptons, and also usually would hit up an island or Europe during the summers. She nodded when he told her about the auction. It seemed odd they'd have to smuggle in alcohol, but then again, Riley guessed she'd just grown up different than more American teens. Her parents had a more European view when it came to alcohol and she'd grown up drinking wine with dinner and her brother being invited to have scotch with her father after dinner. Drinking had never been a big deal to her parents. And they let them drink on their own as well, as long as they didn't make fools of themselves, she and her brother and basically been able to do what they pleased growing up. Not to mention that many of the places in New York had known them by the Hastings name and served them without question anyway. "Well, maybe I'll check it out then," Riley said. She also made sure to get the address from Casper so she could look up where it was. "Oh well, have fun. It was nice meeting you," Riley said. "Thanks for the offer, but I can always call a car or something, no big," she said, figuring she'd be fine, just looking up the address. His company had been nice, but she wanted to get back to shopping too, so she wasn't too disappointed once he left. She waved as he left the thrift store, sort of wondering why he'd been there in the first place since he didn't seem like a thrift store kind of guy. But then again Riley didn't exactly look like a girl who shopped in thrift stores either, she just had impeccable taste about what was good and what was not. And what was good was that skirt.... Riley made a beeline to it, continuing her shopping. Wrapped
