"Oh, do you snowboard too?" Lily asked the boy, Dexter, when he suggested a snowboarding trip. "I have a season pass to Bear," she said, "which is a little farther--Mountain High is the closest but its also the smallest," she explained, "but it's probably the best to learn on. Either one could be a day trip. Tahoe is the nicest, but that's a much farther...that's more of a weekend trip." Of course Lily knew all the places to snowboard, she was a pro of course, but she didn't tell the others that. It was something that people who followed snowboarding knew. People who didn't, usually had no idea, which was fine for Lily, because she didn't like to brag about it anyway. And when she was in magazines and all that for snowboarding, she tended to get embarrassed anyway, hoping no one would read them. She snowboarded more because she loved it, and she'd only really gone pro so she could compete, which was something else she loved doing, and was good at considering she'd metaled in the x games as well as other competitions. She skateboarded too of course, but she wasn't pro at that and had never really competed beyond the local level.
She wasn't exactly agreeing to a trip or anything, but she figured she could suggest where to go. Lily hadn't snowboarded with a beginner in a long time and when she did go, she liked to spend her time on the jumps and the half pipe, which weren't exactly suitable for beginners anyway.
"Yeah, I've never heard of them either," she admitted about the band that Dexter liked. She listened as Summer listed off the bands that she liked, and while Lily liked a variety of music, she decided against sharing her tastes. After all, it was very varied, but for the most she liked anything with a good beat, mostly because that's what she liked to listen to when she boarded or worked out.
She wasn't really thinking about the little group that formed in terms of friends, mostly because she'd been shut out from having friends so many times before. She tended to just not expect it. Just because she was talking to them now didn't meant that they'd want to talk to her in the future, especially given her nature to disappear for weeks at a time for training and competition, although the season was winding down now. There were no more set competitions this year.
Summer then asked her taste in music so Lily figured that she did have to share. "I like lots of stuff...anything with a beat really, but I guess I like rock music a lot, Muse and the Killers and bands like that, and then some more fun stuff, I'm really into Mash Bros. right now cause they just sort of mix up everything and its a lot of fun," she said with a shrug.
