An afternoon off......(Silver tag Any)

"The Internet is most convenient when I am at home. I could spend hours at the library if I wanted. There is so much information to find out. I tend to get lost there and I will stay from open to close. My mom says I research too much. She works at a University, so I will go with her. Their library is huge." Silver told Emma. "I know it might seem boring, but you should come with me sometime."

Once a dork, always a dork. What kind of person invited someone to the library to hang out. God she was sad. Silver agreed with Emma when she talked about the store and sizes. Silver barely ever got anything that fit, then again she was not so into fashion, so as long as something did fit she was happy.

"I will introduce you to Anderson. He is nice, really smart, and funny. He is my best friend, known him a few years." He was the only one who knew about her heart transplant, the only person she trusted not to treat her any different. She just did not want people to pity her, or constantly ask if she was okay or something. It was annoying. She got that all the time when she was sick.

"OH DnD, is dungeons and dragons." Silver went on to explain the game in as much detail as she could from the Dungeon Master to the warriors,to wizards, and everything. "Basically is my escape from reality, I guess you could say. Its a role playing game. Well more like larping, which is live action role playing. If you are ever interested you should come to an event sometime."

Silver tucked some hair behind her ear, "Thanks for thinking I am popular, but no. I mean I could never be like that. I almost like being invisible. I have seen how some of those girls treat other people and its not nice."

Silver took out a sheet of paper and wrote her number down. "Here, you should call me some time. Maybe you can come over to my house and we can hang out. I have an interesting collection of books you might like."

Emma's brown eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store when Silver told her about the library. "That sounds great!" she said excitedly. "Which University does she work at?" she asked. She knew that LA had quite a few Universities. UCLA and USC of course were the largest ones, but that was because they were both state schools. She knew that there were also a number of private Universities in the city as well. Either way, she was excited about the opportunity. Emma was more of a fiction reader by nature but she could get really into essays and biographies sometimes too, which she was sure a college library would be full of.

"Oh cool," Emma smiled, also excited when Silver offered to introduce Emma to her friend. That was definitely a good sign. It meant that maybe Silver really did want to be her friend...and if she met Silver's friend to, she could go from having pretty much no friends, to having two. Sure, Emma was a Silver student and Silver was a Gould student, and Emma could assume her friend was too, but Emma was a senior anyway, so it looked like she'd be finishing out high school at Gould. She hadn't really thought too much about college yet. Sure, she'd applied to a ton but she had no idea where she'd wanted to go. Her applications were pretty much split between East Coast schools, schools in Arizona, and schools out in LA. Sure, Emma wasn't a huge fan of LA because she thought a lot of people in the city were really pretentious, but she also was getting close to her dad for the first time in her life and thought it might be nice to have a family member close by, especially since he mom was traveling all the time now.

"Maybe..." was all Emma said about the Dungeons and Dragons, she was a little more reluctant about that. She read fantasy books sometimes and she'd heard of Dungeons and Dragons but it seemed complicated and she wasn't sure if she'd be creative enough. She didn't want to say outright no though because she really wanted Silver to like her and be her friend. "I could give it a try sometime maybe," she offered, but she stayed a little vague about it.

"Yeah, I like being invisible too...but it just gets lonely sometimes," Emma said. As much as she enjoyed spending her lunches in the library, it would be nice to have someone to talk to sometime. And when no one really noticed you at all...it made things hard. So she was really excited when Silver gave her, her number. "I'd really like that," Emma said. "Here," she said, ripping a black part of the sheet of paper Silver had given her and writing her number on it. She passed it to Silver. "And I'll probably see you in school this week too," Emma said. "I usually go to the library during lunch...but I'm not opposed to the cafeteria or leaving campus or anything," she said, hoping maybe she and Silver could start eating lunch together sometimes. That was the one period of the day that stood out where she felt especially lonely. She might not have anyone to talk to during her classes, but at least there was class going on to distract from that.
