Give up his beer and drugs....now that was not something Mike thought he could do. Honestly he did not see the big deal. Mike closed his eyes as Jade continued to speak. Then he opened them. Show jade he was worth another chance? Change for Jade? Crap. Crap. Crap. Was going through Mike's head. He was honestly not sure he could change. Mike was so use to not giving a care in the world. To begin to care scared Mike shitless.

"Come on man...beer and drugs...they are not that bad. It's just fun. Harmless fun. I have not OD'd that much." He said to the older man. Mike looked at Jade. He looked into Jade's eyes. He was not sure he could promise that. He could try, but giving up drugs and beer....well...that would not be easy. "I did not always care about my next fix." He tried to reason. Tried to make it seem like it was not a big deal.

Mike continued to look at the emotion in Jade's eyes. "Shit man...how the hell do you get to know me so damn well." He said shaking his head just at the thought that everything Jade said was true. "I hate when you're right..." Mike said with a small smile. Mike knew Jade was right. He was not the only to point this out to him. His dads had pointed it out too, as well as the School Counselor. Mike knew he had a problem. Giving it up would not be easy.

Deep down Mike knew he should tell Jade to take the safe route because he could not make the promises, but damn it Mike wanted Jade back. So what did he do? Did he tell Jade to play it safe or did he try...actually try for this man....Mike bagne tio rub the back of Jades back with his one hand. He craved this closeness. How could he deny the guy in front of him...not when it meant getting Jade back and all the pleasure that would bring, but was that it...just pleasure until he found something different.

"How do I show you I am worth another chance? What exactly do you want me to do...."

Jade gave him a look, "If I demanded you give up the drugs and alcohol it wouldn't work, one you need to want to give up, two I'd be forcing my wishes on you and thats not me, and three you'd end up resenting me for it... but at some point the drugs and the alcohol abuse thats going to catch up with you." Jade said to him honestly. "If you keep doing what your doing it will." Jade said to him with a sad smile.

"I'm not expecting you to give up your vices, hell if I did that you could probably demand I give up my obsession with working out or being a part of the swim team or wrestling team... not bloody likely you probably get a kick out of me in a swim suit, for some bizarre reason you like what you put into your body... as much as I like my sports." Jade said to him.

"How do you get a second chance with me?" Jade asked. "Just try to change, and don't be afraid to ask for help, a relationship doesn't work if you don't talk about your problems between each other, that applies to me as well not just you." Jade said. "Change doesn't happen over night but if your willing to try I'm willing to try." Jade said to him then kissed him on the lips. "I just need to know your ready to fight for a relationship between two equals." Jade added.

Again Jade was right. If Jade asked him to give up drugs and alcohol he would resent him and that would not be good. Mike was all about having it both ways. He liked having his cake and eating it too. Although that rarely happened which led to many of the issues Mike had in terms of control and him having a temper. Mike had no idea how to balance his life out. He was a tad extreme and he knew it. He had broken a few limbs doing stupid challenges and was sent to the hospital a few times do to not turning down drugs or alcohol.

"You're right I would resent you. Besides I like how you look after you work out." Mike said with a wink, "Can't help it if I enjoy looking at your body all nice and sweaty." He smiled. It was a lovely thought. Mike enjoyed the rush the drugs gave him and the numb feeling the beer had over him. Talking never factored into his head.

Mike sighed, "Easier said then done, you know that man. Feelings and me...we don't always get along. i tend to avoid talking about whats upsetting me." Which is exactly what led him to this very predicament in the first place. He kissed Jade back and ran his hand up to the older mans neck and gave it a light squeeze.

Yup, Jade should stick with the safe choice. Mike was not sure he could pull it off. It went again his hedonist life style. Then again all that was, was a protection from the pain he carried. And he still did have his drugs, alcohol and those stupid challenges he loves so much, so it was not all bad. Plus the best part was he had Jade. And he would do anything to get the boy back. "Alright....I will try...I will open up more..." Boy were those words easier said then done. This would be one hell of a fight and Mike was not sure he would win, but hell he would do anything to keep jade away from any other guy, even if it meant trying to talk more.

Jade smiled at the boy... "I will speak to Jeremy, tonight or over the next couple of days, I don't feel the need to break things of in front of his twin sister... even if its just a one date thing." Jade explained to the boy. "Don't screw it up Mike, the next time you won't be so lucky." Jade added.

He thought of how the hell he would talk to Jeremy about this, how he would tell the boy that he was going back to someone he had dumped these than twenty four hours before he had met Jeremy for the first time. He knew he would hurt the boy by saying what he knew he had to say, but he also knew that if he didn't see where this with Mike went he would curse himself for it somewhere down the road.

"Your among the firsts in my life, the first to get a second chance that is." Jade said he was looking forward so as to not look at the boy and the hugely insecure look that he had on his face. "Alex is going to kill me, I can deal with just about everyone else in my life telling me that I should not be doing this but Alex is someone I know who will be so much more vocal about it." Jade said to himself more than Mike.

Mike smiled as Jade spoke. He was glad to be having a second chance. He knew Jade would come back. How could he not. At least Mike did not need to resort to childish means to win Jade back. Mike looked at Jade. He placed on hand on Jade's shoulders and massaged a little, "Then I will have to prove myself and win Alex over. I am always up for a challenge you know that. You worry too much. Alex loves you. It will be fine." Mike assured him. Or so he hoped so? Then again Mike did not care if Alex liked him or not. As long as he stayed out of the way.

Mike rubbed Jade's back with one hand and tilted his chin so his face was looking at him with the other. Then Mike placed a slow, yet passion filled kiss on Jade's lips. Once the kiss was over Mike smiled, "Call me later okay. Once you talk to Jeremy. I know that will be hard for you, so maybe we can try the talking part afterward." Mike did way he would try. Talking was a part of trying right. So he would try it.

Mike stood up. "I am hanging with a few friends tonight, but tomorrow I'm free. We can do something. Either as friends or more.....depending on ...well you know...." He was referring to Jade speaking with Jeremy. "Oh and Jade......thanks....for the second chance.....I know you won't regret it...." Mike was that confident. He could have his cake and eat it to. The pain was gone and the pleasure was back. Time to go celebrate with his friend. "I hope to see you tomorrow man. I'll text you this time....how's that sound...." Mike smiled. Usually Jade texted Mike to hang out. And Mike always texted Jade to find out where He was and who with. That was the clingy part coming out. This time would be different....less clingy and controlling.......or he would try. It was very hard to do.

Jade nodded but did not stand up with him, "Only you can help to make this work properly Mike." Jade said to him passing his new card that had his new phone number on it. "Changed phones recently, crushed the last one under my car, pure accident but boy was I annoyed." Jade said to him.

"Have a good night, and dont get to drunk." Jade said with a playful smile. "Well at least make sure you can remember tonight tomorrow." Jade said to him cheekily.

Rising to his feet as well, "God I need some food, I may just skip out and take some time for myself this afternoon." Jade said to himself more than any thing. "Oh well I'll see you tomorrow." Jade added before placing a last kiss and leaving Mike standing where he was.

Jade made his way across the pitch in the direction of his car, he didn't really feel like seeing any one else, he noted that people were glaring at him as he reached his car.

'Going home, call me.' Jade text Alex while he sat in his car.

Jade slumped into his chair closing his eyes as he tried to rid himself of the guilt he felt for what was about to happen with Jeremy. Jade started his car, tucking his belt into the right place and selecting drive on the dashboard he closed his car door and drove out of the school.

Yeah sure he would have some trouble coming from his parents for walking out but he wanted some alone time, and he couldn't bare to be near Jeremy or his sister right now.
