Unless your character is new, they've lived through some interesting events. Here are the highlights:
-Saturday November 17th 2007: Silver partially burnt down. Gould offered space for the displaced students until Silver was reopened at the beginning of January.
-Wednesday January 2nd 2008: only a day after Silver's doors had reopened, Los Angeles was hit by a 6.7 earthquake. Cell phone lines were out of order, lights and power went out, phone lines were down, roads were impassable, and the school was once again nearly destroyed. Gould managed to survive largely due to not being in Los Angeles but in nearby Riverside. The city is still trying to pay for the extensive repairs that had to be made, though they've managed somehow to have most things back in order now.
-Monday, February 18th: gang fighting between the Asian Boys and MS-13 escalated when several members of MS-13 invaded Gould and began shooting rather indiscriminately. Relevant thread here and here. Silver students were sharing space with Gould again thanks to an infestation of rats.
-Friday February 22nd: Bree Marcus hosted a lingerie ball for all students at a fancy hotel.
-Monday February 25th: after a week off for mourning and funerals school is back in session though with a more somber mood, and with many more rules! Backpacks must be mesh or see through, a number of clothing items have been banned (for instance, overalls and carpenter pants), and there are police patrolling the area hoping to prevent copy-cats. Metal detectors will be in the future as soon as the school district can raise some money and have them put in.
-Thursday February 28th: Gould's Environmental Club and Young Republicans Club attempted to get together to help clean up Griffith Park. It started to go badly when Annie Holmes and Phil Lim got into a very public fight that ended with Annie in tears and Phil loudly denouncing homosexuals.
