BJ closed his locker which he had gone back to so he could get rid of his bag for a time, he was trying to decide on whether or not he should eat lunch in the cafeteria or go out to lunch and risk being late for afternoon class.
He had been here a month and in that time he had learned that if you ate in school you took your life into your own hands, he walked into the dinning hall which considering it was five minutes into lunch was still semi empty but he knew it wouldn't stay that way. BJ took a tray and headed for the food line, what to have he thought.
"I'll take the special." he said to the woman.
"Your desert." she asked.
"Just a fruit salad please." he replied the woman smiled as he took a bottle of water as well and headed down the line to pay for the food he had, he looked around the still new surroundings looking for a good place to sit down at.
He heard the woman say something about money and handed over a note to her, "Your change." she said to him as he took back the change.
"Thank you." he said offering a smile to the woman as he picked up his tray again and looked to see what tables were still free, he took a seat against the wall on one side so he could see almost everything going on in the room if something interesting happened he would know about it.

Marrianne was plugged into her IPOD with the soundtrack to 'South Pacific' playing, she knew without a doubt she'd be playing Bloody Mary. Granted she had one of the best known songs from the show. She went to her locker and got her lunch and headed to the caferteria where she bought herself a bottle of water. The usual cliques were all together which she just sighed and looked around for a place.
If people were smart they wouldn't argue with her and just let her sit but she was in a good mood to argue with anyone today. She had a wonderful night with her parents on Valentines Day and it just made today more special. She looked around and saw a lone young man sitting against the wall by himself, she took it upon herself to be socible with him.
"Hello," She smiled at him. "I saw you sitting here all by yourself which never happens when I'm around. You mind if I join you?" He looked to be more sane than some that she saw at school but then Mom had been there since her freshman year and had seen a lot come and go.

BJ looked up at the girl from his food and smiled, "Sure thing, it isn't like their is a lack of space here." BJ said to her with a grin on his face. "I've actually only just sat down myself I think, that and its pretty early into lunch." BJ said to her as he returned to his lunch. "I'm Brad but pretty much everyone who knows me calls me BJ, only my parents fight to call me by my actual name." BJ said to her.
The girl was something new to him, he had been here a while now, and he thought that he had met some unique people along the way. BJ's phone chose that moment to vibrate taking it out his eyes widened before answering quickly and putting it away.
"So who are you? And why are you mad enough to disturb my lunch." BJ asked with a bright smile and using some of that famed Aussie charm.
"I prefer quieter lunchs sometimes, it doesn't always help to eat the food in this place, I've heard rumours off deaths being caused by the foood in the cafeteria and stomach pumps being needed because of this place... the food in this school is famous and for all the wrong reasons." BJ said grinning.

Marrianne smiled as she sat down next to the teen. "You're right about that, although it seems the cliques get the tables first but let them have them who knows what the person was like who sat there before them!" She laughed. "Nice to meet you BJ."
"Marrianne here or like everyone, just call me Mom, I don't mind." She detected an accent on him. "Mad? I've seen it all here you're about as normal as I've seen in a long time," she leaned in slightly, "and besides I love your accent!" She nudged him a little.
"Ahhhh see I started bringing food from home." She unzipped her lunch bag and took out a container of lettuce and the makings of a salad. "The first time you have the mystery meat you just learn to do things this way or else make an escape to Mickey D's or some place close."
"Still you can blame the lunch ladies, they do what they can with what their given, still it would be nice if they could get like Paula Deen here or Tyler Florence." She stopped at that name and smiled for a moment. "Sorry, just a day dream there!"

BJ looked at her, "Are they chefs?" BJ asked he was completely unknowing about American chefs, sure he had been to enough meetings and dinners with his agent, and for that matter his parents.
"Sorry I'm still very new to American food culture, I got hooked on KFC about a week after we moved from back home." BJ said to her with a smile. "We moved here a while back, but I'm to busy outside school to seriously do much." BJ added. "So I put the stomach pump on stand by, suck it in and eat this stuff." BJ said to her.
"This is a lunch of convenience and nothing more, I might start thinking about getting stuff in though." BJ said to her after taking a bite from his food and making a disgusted face. "God I hope that their fruit salad is better than this." BJ said.
"So how did you get the nick name Mom?" BJ asked. "Mine is pretty self explanatory in that its my first and second Initials, but you can't make mom out of Marianna." BJ said to her. "So their must be some story too go with that." BJ asked her politely.

"Ohh yes Paula is this wonderful southern woman who knows how to cook for the masses, plus she has two sons both just adorable and Tyler, he takes the most mundane things and comes up with something thats amazing and well, he's just plain hot!" She let out what could be considered a girlish giggle for her.
"I'm not one to brag but my Nana's fried chicken puts KFC to shame, I give them credit them though for the potato wedges, nothing can top those." She ate a bit of her salad and enjoyed it. "Nana loves to cook so I know where I can find food, like my salad here, four kinds of lettuce, she cuts everything by hand, she's amazing!" She could go on all day about her. "I'll bring extra in some time, you'll sing a different tune then." There was a wink and a smile with her words.
"I've been Mom since middle school. I always look out for everyone or if someone needs a shoulder to cry on, I'm there for them. The things a mom does and if anyone gets on my bad side, lets just say its not a pretty scene."

BJ smiled, "I had a friend like that back home a girl friend not someone I dated, who would look out for everyone, she was a good friend, still is actually though I haven't seen her face to face for a couple of years, I speak to her online, we video chat pretty much every day when I'm not working anyway." BJ said to her. "Some home made fried chicken now that sounds like something that would go straight to my hips..." BJ said to her with a grin. "Then I'd have to ask you something like, does my ass look big in this, and you'd have to lie to me and say it didn't." BJ said to her brightly.
"You know if I was back home right now, I'd be walking around sweating like a pig, enjoying the sun, tanning nicely, we have great weather at this time of year in Melbourne." BJ said to her. "LA weather in the winter has taken some getting to used to, back home you could have christmas dinner on the beach, our winter months can get pretty cold but not necessarily as cold as everywhere else." BJ added.
"Of course the guys here are hot as hell all year round, not sure about the botox though." BJ said to her.
