(Song by Leonard Cohen..i love this song)
The music started, some might consider this a sad song, but it really was not. Lucas found this song almost perfect, besides it was his favorite song. He stood at the alter, fixing his bow tie as he the music began. There would be no traditional wedding march, this was the song decided on for this special occasion.
Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Lucas shifted as the people stood and soon out came the wedding party. Well the wedding party for whom Lucas was marrying. Lucas smiled as he waited for hsi beloved to arrive, to see that look that told Lucas he had finally done the right thing.
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Lucas was nervous. Butterflies in his stomach like he never felt before. A moment od sadness crept up into his core. This was the happiest day of his life, but a sad one as well. Lucas pushed thoughts from his mind, as he looked on waiting for his life to begin.
There was a time you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you
The holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
There he was...the man of Lucas's dreams. The man he defied his father for. The man he stood up for when the time came to it. Russ looked dashing in hissuit. So hot. Lucas just wanted to rip him, out of it.
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Lucas needed Russ. Despite all the times of making fun of him, Lucas found solace in that tiny mans arms. So Lucas stood waiting, for his groom to a arrive. A groom he almost lost because he was giving into his fathers views.
I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though
It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah
Soon Russ was standing next to LUcas, holding his hand as they took their vows for the commitment ceremony. When it was said to kiss the groom Lucas did so with a big smile. Then it was time for claps and awws to be heard around. The couple left the alter to walk to the reception, to finally live happily ever after.
However, if you look around someone was missing, an empty space in all the photos. Mr. Grant was no where to be seen. Lucas looked at Russ and smiled, "I love you." He told his new husband, and then all the sudden things shifted and there was a grave, with a headstone, that read Mr. Grant....Someone was missing, there was a missing piece, if only Mr. Grant had accepted Lucas and accepted his life.
It did not have to end like this...but sadly Mr. Grant could not accept what his son was and he died a lonely old man, while Lucas went off to marry the man of his dreams, always wishing his father could have accepted Russ.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah
