Jack had been searching around his apartment for hours, searching for something, anything, he could wear as a costume. Nothing yet had caught his eye, and as much as he didn't relish the idea of dressing up all crazy it seemed as if Dena and Celest were encouraging everyone to look crazy. Usually, when the Zouvelekis' do something like that, as scary as it sounds it usually ends up being pretty fun. And since Celest seemed like she was dressing up, Jack knew he better as well.
Celest! She's be able to help him. Jack ran to his room to find his blackberry and flipped through his contacts until he came to her name. He typed up a quick message and hit send.
“Help! I have no idea what to wear tomorrow and you're so good at this stuff. What are you going to wear?”
Jack set down the phone, hoping a response came quickly. His closet was still open, and he decided once again to dig through it, though it was very well organized and he knew he wouldn't find anything more than a few suits, lots of slacks in various colors, his one pair of jeans, and countless collared shirts. Of course there were a few pairs of shoes, but those weren't helpful when one was going bowling. What was he going to do?

Celest was sitting in her room, reading. She'd gone to the book store earlier of course and had picked up some new books. She'd started on the first one, some fantasy novel that she'd liked the cover on. Celest usually liked fantasy books so she tended to pick them based on which had the prettiest covers, because she imagined that they'd have the best descriptions as well. Sometimes she was right and sometimes she was wrong, but she liked taking the change. It made things more interesting.
She heard her phone beep. It was sitting across the room, charging, so she turned her book over leaving it open as she moved across the room. She pulled it off the charger--it was mostly charged anyway--and walked back toward her bed as she read the text. She didn't get many text, and had been expecting it to be Dena since she was at Caitlin's. She was pretty sure everyone else was home. But it wasn't Dena...it was Jack.
Celest smiled, not surprised that it was about the costumes. She felt a little weird when he asked what she was wearing. Was he planning to match her like Dena had suggested? She could feel heat rising to her cheeks for some reason at the thought of him actually wanting to match him. It was one thing if Dena suggested it...she suggested lots of things that Celest didn't always listen to, but Jack wanting to was different. Why did he want to match her? And not Dena and Caitlin?
She quickly texted back:
"I don't know if I'm going to dress up. I know Dena wants me too...but I don't think I want to stand out. I can still help you put something together if you want. Don't tell Dena though."
She hit send and placed her phone on her nightstand. She picked up her book again but put it back down after reading just a few sentences. She got up once more and moved to wear she liked to keep her different fabrics and started looking through them, seeing if she could come up with something for Jack. It seemed like he wanted help with a costume so she hoped she'd at least be able to give him some suggestions.

Jack was entrenched in his closet when he heard his phone make it's odd not-quite-beeping noise that indicated a text message. He stumbled out of the small space, nearly tripping over a box as he exited in his haste. He had left his phone on his bed, and the stumbling took him right to the cushion heaven where he landed with a soft thud. The phone showed that Celest had responded, which caused Jack to smile oddly. He wasn't sure why he was smiling. Her message gave him the exact answer he needed. There was no way in heck he was going to dress up if Celest wasn't! Relief washed over him as he typed a message back. “ ISo you're gonna bail on me, huh? Kidding! If you're not dressing up there's no way I am. Dena's crazy! So I'll see you tomorrow, no costume? If you change your mind you better let me know!” Jack pressed send, releasing the message into the nethers of the world to hopefully reach Celest quickly. He was strangely excited for tomorrow, and not just for the bowling and fun times of hanging out with friends that his mother disliked. All she knew was that he was going bowling. She was blissfully ignorant of any arcade gatherings, costume wearings, or reality stars that may accompany the previous activity, and Jack planned on leaving it that way.

Celest was looking through her fabrics. She definitely needed to go to the store and get some more, but she could probably find something that worked for Jack. It all depended on what he'd want to be though. She was glad that a knight's costume was far too difficult to make in one day or she would have been backed into a corner with the whole costume thing. She heard her phone beep again and got up, heading back across the room. It was Jack again. "Yeah, tomorrow, no costume " She quickly typed and sent back to him. She didn't know anything about meeting at the arcade first so ghe was blissfully ignorant about that. As far as she knew they'd just be meeting everyone at the bowling ally and Dena wouldn't know about the non-costume thing until just before they left. She still wasn't 100% sure about bowling...after all Celest wasn't very good, but Dena seemed to be trying hard to break her out of her shell and Jack was going to be there too, so she supposed it would be alright. As long as her brothers could stay out of trouble tomorrow, she was pretty sure that she'd be able to have a good time. Without having to make a costume for Jack, she put her fabrics away before heading back to her bed where she curled back up with her book. All and all a perfect Saturday night as far as Celest was concerned.
