Text Message to Izzy (Takumi)

"Douitashimashite, Izzy," he replied in a low voice. "Really, you are most welcome. but no... the music had finished and I had already gone home when I read your text. Even so and had it not finished I would have willingly stopped and come to you. This is far more important than playing misic."

He leaned closely as she explained what the doctors had told her and unmderstanding about one word in ten... If that many. "See? The doctors said it would happen anyway... right? This has nothing to do with anything you said but I can understand how you must feel, your last words being those said in anger."

He clasped her hand between both of his and stared down at their fingers. "The Shintô believe that when a person dies they wait on Earth for 46 days, during which time they complete any unfinished business so that their spirit can pass on to the after life in peace. It's also a period for those left behind to mourn and also finish things that had been left undone. That would include you making things right with your mother."

He tightened his hold on her hand. "She can hear you... She will know how sorry you are that you and her argued. She will know, Izzy. Your mother can't be at peace until she knows you forgive yourself. But yes, you need to let your father know. He deserves to be told. We can call him later... or even tomorrow. I will help you."

He kissed her back with a gentleness that told her easily how much he cared... and how concerned he was. Hoepfully Jett would get Izzy's message soon and be here for his sister. After all, there was only so much Takumi could do...

[Izzy Chen]

"You're amazing you know that." Izzy said softly as Taki spoke about the 46 days. It was a nice sentiment. That her mother could hear her and Izzy could say sorry. She really, really wanted to believe Taki. God, how she wanted to believe that. The best way to believe was try right, to actually say it over and over and perhaps it would be true.

"Well if she is listening...then what I want to say is I am sorry for what I said...but not sorry for why I said it..I don't regret standing up to my mo for once in my life. i just wish there had been better timing.....I know that might seem confusing, but she will understand." Izzy did feel a little better, but still she was not sure about it. She felt bad for what she said, but her mother was asking for it when she told Izzy to dump Taki for this stupid arranged marriage her father was arranging.

It was just too much to really think about to be honest. So for now Izzy just laid back against Taki and sighed. "Thanks for coming. i mean it." She eyed him. "We still going bowling tomorrow? I could use something to take my mind off certain vents to be honest." Izzy had no idea Taki canceled, but she really did not care to sit at home tomorrow. "Can you stay here until Jett gets back?" She asked

"Your mother will know," Takumi said in a whisper. "She can hear you..." He wasn't all that sure he believed in the Shinto belief but the important thing right now was that Izzy did.

"You should know I would come," he replied. "As for tomorrow... No, I have cancelled it already. I can't go bowling knowing how sad you are, anata. Evan and Dare will understand once they know what has happened. We can do something else if you would like that..." A walk perhaps? Or even some time just sitting down on the beach. He felt sure the last thing Izzy needed was to be in a crowd were pretending to be happy was called for. "As for waiting for Jett..." Takumi smiled at Izzy and squeezed her hand. "I will be here for as long as you need me."

He knew that once her brother arrived he would probably be in the way but, for now at least, he'd do what he could to help her through what was likely the worst moment of her life so far. While he was more than content to hold her he knew she needed Jett with her and he willed the other boy to make an appearance as soon as he could...
