Trixie had no idea of DJ's plans. She had every intention of ignoring him for the rest of the day. Hell the rest of the year until he graduated and left. She did not want to see or talk to him. Difficult yes, but he knew half the truth. He knew about the abuse. God, if he knew the rest she would die. It was flat out horrible to have to explain just what her father believed. She remembered telling the cops. The words sounded so foreign in her mind, yet she lived through it.
Not to mention the way her brother acted was just horrible too. Jay an his damn episodes. If he would just get help. Then again the same could be said about her. Trixie refused help herself. She did not want to think about all the horrible things, let alone relive them. She just wanted to shut it out and forget it. It was not easy. Having a guy like DJ around who might ask questions would not make it easy. She preferred to spend her time with someone else.
Trixie bought her lunch and found a secluded place to eat on the outside patio. She was in a corner and very much in her own world. She was actually doing homework. Who knew Homework would end up being a great distraction. Trixie was not in a good mood, so heaven help anyone who came over to talk to her, because odds are she would be a bitch extreme. As she often was when she was annoyed by something or in this case....someone...

DJ had spent a good part of the day on the internet at the school library. He was bound determined to find out the truth about Trix and her family. The searching though was tiring his eyes, he felt as if he wouldn't stumble upon anything. He was ready to give up when something caught his eye.
'Man found dead in Salem, Ma home'
He read on.
'James Michaels was found dead in his home due to multiple stab wounds. His wife, Mary, is being charged with second degree murder. Their children Jayson and Trixie are in protective custody until the next of kin can be reached.'
DJ rubbed his eyes both with tiredness and disbeleif.
Father dead, mother accused it was making some sense but there was something missing. He read on.
'Police say there were possible satanic rituals involved, noting the pentegrams they had found.'
That was it! That was the key to the whole thing! Damn it, it made sense as to why Trixie and Jay acted they way they did, "He's not going to hurt us", "I beat you before" it was enough to make one's head swim. He printed out the story and went off to find Trixie.
He saw her sitting on the patio away from everyone. He had no idea how this was going to go over. He moved swiftly, setting the printout down in front of him but not removing his hands from it.
"Trixie I know what happened, why didn't you just tell me the truth?"

Explaining her life was not what she wanted to do. It was complicated and there were things that were hidden and thing beyond comprehension. Trixie honestly believed that no one would understand her past. Or that they would think she and jay were like her father, Which was further from the truth. Trixie and Jay did not believe in Satan. Not like their father did. It was horrible. Like Jay's secret. There were things beyond someone's imagination at work in her family. She did not blame people for being scared.
Trixie was sitting in silence and eating. She actually thought she could get away with it. That she just might get through the rest of the day without seeing DJ. It was as if he read her mind. Just as she thought it, he appeared and sat down.
"What part of I am walking away did you not get?" She asked looking at him. Her eyes betrayed her with him. Its like he could read her. Was that possible. Perhaps she was letting him get to her and thats why. She looked at the papers he sat in front of him. "And what do you exactly think you know?" She asked. She reached out and took the papers from under his hands. To say she was shocked....well she was shocked. She looked over the articles.
"You researched my family. Are you serious. Do you ever give up? You think that this will make me want you?" She passed the papers back. She sighed. God she could not keep up that cold front she wanted to keep. He made her break it down. he knew the truth and he was sitting in front of her, but Trixie still did not think he could handle it. "You read the articles. You should know why I did not tell you. So walk away now."

He had to think of something and fast. "I did it because I was curious, nothing was making sense this morning." DJ leaned on the table.
"I know your father is dead and your mother was charged with the murder and you two were sent to live with your aunt." He started. "But when your brother said that "he wasn't going to hurt us" and he had "beaten me before" I had to see what else there was going on." He ran a hand through his hair.
He brought a leg up and leaned in on the seat. "It's going to take more that some old story and threats from your brother to make me walk away."
It was easy enough right now to say how he really felt about her, but she seemed insistant on keeping up the charade. "If there's more, I can handle it."
It hurt him to know she had been hurt in the past and in a wretched way. "I'm a big boy, I can handle what ever is thrown my way." He leaned close to her. "And I promise so long as I live I will not tell a single soul."

Trixie eyed him. "Grandmother. We are living with my grandmother now." She told him. "My Aunt did not want the stigma that came attached to my brother and me." She informed him. She put her stuff down and looked at him. Then she smirked, "There is so much more to the story then that, but I assume those articles told you the rest. If not then allow me to elaborate. MY father was a Satanist. He changed his name to Lucifer because he believed the devil lived within him. Our house was filled with upside down pentagrams. My dad did daily rituals and made us speak in Latin half the time. Not something a child should be exposed to. It twists the mind." She had glanced at DJ as she spoke. IF he wanted the truth then he would get it. "And thats just going over the basics. I could go way more in to detail about what the rituals were."
"I appreciated you keeping it quiet. Last thing I need is for people to think I am the daughter of Satan." Trixie explained. She said it flat out and looked right at DJ to see if he would budge. She was actually shocked he did not budge.
"What is it you want from me exactly? You won't walk away then fine, but what do you think this is..." She pointed to him and her, "We had sex, nothing more. Thats what we agreed on. " Trixie knew she was pushing her luck, but DJ was scaring her at this moment. She was testing the limits when she should just give in because he was the first guy to not run and hide.

"Forgive me, grandmother." DJ sighed out of frustration. "I knew she was a relation somehow." He crossed his arms over his chest as he let Trixie talk about her past. "No really I don't need to know about what happened in the house." The less said about the rituals the better.
DJ still refused to budge from his spot and again she brought up the whole ice queen facade. "I know what we agreed on but damn it Trix after what happened this morning, I just want to know that you'll be safe from what ever."
"Believe it or not, there are those that do give a damn what happens to you," He moved to look her directly in the face. "Maybe you don't care though as long as no one knocks down that wall you have around you." He stood up, his six foot plus frame shadowing her. "You wanna keep playing this little game, fine. I can keep this up as long as you can. I'll just say I have better ways to spend my days though that to avoid talking to someone." He started to gather his things, ready to let her stew on his words.

"Care all you want. I am just fine. I don't need you to care." Trixie said the last part quietly because it was a lie. She looked up as he stared at her. It shook her to the core. Almost as if he could see right through her and to the depths of her souls. Had Trixie known DJ would have gotten to her like this she never would have started the game. Now it was getting her in trouble. This game was always so easy, but this guy what the first guy to ever care. He was the first guy to ever actually find out the truth and stay put.
"No one is going to hurt me, least of all Jay. He just has issues with being too protective." Trixie stated. She watched him gather his things and heard him talk about ignoring her, "if you are referring to ignoring me it won't work. You can't ignore me. No one can. Besides I do not get ignores. " Trixie said not believing it for one second.
Trixie just watched his tall frame as he was going to leave. She was mentally kicking herself telling herself to stop him. That this may never happen again. That you may not find someone who cares so much, but it was so hard. Trix was use to people running away and calling her the damn daughter of Satan. "I just get it. Why do you care about me so much? You have only known me for a day." She pointed out. But that day was enough to make her want more and that was new for her.

Now was the true test of ignorning. DJ gathered his things without saying a word, giving an ocassional glance towards Trixie. He knew how to use his zodiac symbol well, as the crab you went in your shell when you had to and now was that time.
He hoisted his bag over his shoulder, shoving his finds into it carelessly. He let her carry on about Jay and him being over protective of her. She was making excuses for him and it didn't make things right.
He took a deep breath and sighed as he started to turn away from her, letting her question hang in the air. He raise the back of his hand to show he wanted nothing but silence from her. She didn't like being ignored, well there is a first time for everything. He did feel though that to just leave her suspended in mid air was just a tad unfair to her, he turned around to look at her, shrugged his shoulders then turned back and started to walk away.
With his back to her, he started to smirk knowing if he had played his cards right either by the end of the day or tomorrow she would be eating out of the palm of his hand.

Trixie huffed as DJ turned away from her and then he had the nerve to hold up his hand to shush her. No way in hell would Trixie be ignored. If that was not bad enough then his shrug did the trick. Trixie started tapping her foot on the floor. Then she stomped her foot. No one ignored her. Never did they ignore her. Trixie picked up her book bag and marched after DJ. The idea that he was planning this had not crossed her mind. She just could not stand being ignored, especially when she wanted so badly to hear the answer to her question.
Trixie marched over and stood in front of DJ, "You think you can just ignore me. No way. You can't. So cut the act. It won't work. Besides all you're doing is proving a point. You are walking away. See even you can't handle it."
Trixie eyed DJ as he still ignored her. She stomped her foot again and this time she pushed on his chest in hopes it would do something. It was rather funny seeing her small frame attempt to push his big one. Trixie looked up at DJ and looked him right in the eye, "God, you're annoying." With that said Trix turned around and flipped her hair. She walked away. Each heel made a loud clack noise as she walked away angry. What right did this idiot have to ignore her. Who the hell did he think he was. All Trixie really knew was that it sucked.
