Zach woke up, his hands and feet secured to the hospital bed. At first he thought he was being held captive still, but quickly discovered he was in the hospital. He was able to push the nurse alert button and did so, amazed at how quickly a nurse responded. This was kind of frightening as it indicated how badly he had been injured. It wasn't long before he knew that he had been attacked and had two surgeries. One to reattach his liver, part of which was missing and the other to close up other wounds where it seemed someone had been trying to farm his organs. This made his flesh crawl as it seemed to him, the attacker might need them and come back for them. There were police officers guarding the ICU though and he was glad that Kendall was there as it meant she was safe too. It took him a long time to calm down enough to go back to sleep again. He left one message, a scribbled note with one word "Marsh"
