Character Name: Diego Gutierrez Aguilar
Nickname: DGA to the guys on the football team
Age: 17
Birthday: 8/30/90
Place of birth: Los Angeles, CA
School: Gould

Appearance: Diego is average in height, but much thicker than a lot of boys his age. He has spent countless hours in the gym and his physical appearance truly shows that. He keeps his hair very short, nearly to his scalp, and has dark brown eyes. Personality: Diego used to be a friendly guy, was a great teaammate, was loyal, and always had his friends' backs. After his injury, however, he has become much more introverted and is prone to angry outburts. He often lashes out at the people who used to be his friends. Deep inside he is actually quite sensitive, and has been hurt by many people's reaction to his injury.
Town Area: El Segundo
Job: None
Transportation: Can no longer ride his motorcycle
Family Background and History: Eduardo Gutierrez Soto grew up in Medellin, Colombia. He became an engineer and eventually moved to America to try to make a good living. He landed in Los Angeles, where he met his soon to be wife Lucia Aguilar Ramirez. Lucia had just graduated from the air force academy and was stationed at Los Angeles Air Base. Eduardo found a job working with General Motors and the two were soon married.
Diego followed soon after, and then a sister Reina, and the family seemed destined to be a happy and loving unit. However, Eduardo lost his job when the General Motors plant closed, leaving the family to live on Lucia's scant salary for a few months. Eduardo worked various jobs simply to make money, and eventually found work at Chevron Oil in 2006.
Diego grew up watching his father bounce from job to job, and decided to work as hard as he could towards the one thing he found true joy in: football. Ever since he joined a youth league he was hooked. He spent most of his time working towards his one goal of becoming a professional football player.
The game instilled within him a solid core of values that revolved around hard work and dedication to the team. He entered high school and was immediately placed on the varsity squad after tryouts, one of the few underclassmen to receive such an honor. He received many accolades, but in his junior year he was severely injured. As he was making a tackle another player fell on the side of his leg, tearing many ligaments including his ACL.
He was forced to undergo surgery, and while the doctors did their best he was told that playing contact sports would be too risky and that his dreams of being a football player had come to an end.
Not only that, but the extensive hospital bills have put a strain on the family income just as it was beginning to flourish. His home life has become tense, and his parents often fight. A lot of the people he thought were his friends now view him as a broken freak, and he has found that he is completely lost in life.

Likes: Very little cheers Diego up anymore, but he used to love most any sport, camping, hanging out with the team (and having a few drinks, though he is prone to more now), girls, mexican food, working out, laughing, his cultural heritage.
