Bree's excitement when she woke up was only dimmed by the slight sickening headache she had from her night of drinking with Tyler and Sloane. She bathed and dressed carefully in the black corset dress she had chosen. It laced down her back, pulling smoothly across her petite torso and continued on with a fall of silk ruffles that were relaxed over her long slender legs that had invoked envy even in fashion models. Her make up was done just as carefully, too much would be garish and not enough would have her features disappearing against the very dark dress. The lighting at the Four Seasons could be stark so she had to be cognizant of that when preparing her own presentation. She had a pair of gladiator sandals that laced up her legs and drew attention to their perfection. Bree knew they were one of her best features and how to make them stand out. Her phone and the check to pay the four seasons was in her black Miu Miu Studded leather shoulder clutch along with her lipstick and other essentials that might need refreshed along the way. Glancing at her clock, Bree realized she needed to get moving or she would be late picking up Mew. She grabbed her things, which included D&D books and her newly painted hobbit/assassin figurine and headed outside to stow them in the boot of her car. Roaring out of the long driveway, she headed to her new boyfriend's home smelling of lily of the valley and looking like an Irish Fairy Princess. Her face was all smiles when she knocked upon his door and asked his mother if she could call him as they needed to leave.

Mew darted out of his room the moment his mother called up to him, taking the stairs two at a time. His first thought was that Bree was really hot. His second thought was that his suit, one of a very few he wore to Synagogue, was not at all formal enough to go with her outfit. Unfortunately, it was not only too late to change but he didn't have anything nicer, so this would have to do.
"Bye, mom!" He nearly pushed Bree out the door in his hurry to escape the glare his mother was giving him; she'd not been pleased he was skipping Synagogue for some party.
As soon as they were in the car he turned to his girlfriend, turning brilliantly red. "You ummm you look nice." This was entirely true, and just the sort of thing he didn't want to say in front of his mother, even if she probably suspected his thoughts. After all, she wasn't stupid. But he'd still rather not voice those thoughts in front of her.
"So uhh I uhhh ummm." He began, wondering if he ought to ask if he was under-dressed, but decided against it. Nothing that could be done about that, anyway. "What do you do at these things?" He asked instead, realizing that he hadn't the faintest notion what one did at fancy brunches.

"Mostly eat and mingle," Bree said with a smile. At least Mew wouldn't have problems with the eating, but she knew she would. "There are tables with food and waiters that will walk around with carafes of coffee and hot water. There will also be champagne and juice for Mimosas which are traditional as well as screwdrivers and bloody marys. After everyone settles down with their plates, I will explain about Rainbow bridge and make a plea for helpers and contributions. Then I will have pledges that people can sign if they are so inclined. Then everyone will be free to party until one when we will have to clear out for the next function." Bree was pleased at his compliment and kissed his cheek. You look good too. I should have you look through my dad's things and see if there is anything you would like to take, I think you're about the same size he was. Would you be interested?"

Coffee was the magic word. As long as her gathering had coffee, it was A-okay in his book. "Oh, okay. Eat and mingle. Got it." He nodded decisively. He wasn't sure about the mingling, as Bree's social circle and his had rarely interacted until Tyler had begun attending meetings of The Young Republicans. Which, come to think of, he would be skipping today. He hadn't even thought to mention to anyone that he would be at Bree's brunch, instead. But then, he was no longer on speaking terms with Phil and Melodee would surely be at Bree's shindig (and Maggy as well, since she was dating Tyler. He thought.) so there probably wouldn't be much of a meeting anyway.
She said he looked good, and then proceeded to tell him he ought to dress like her father. Which was a little disturbing, actually, given what she'd told him of the man. "Ummm." He stammered, wondering how best to reject this offer. "That's ummm, that's very ummm gracious, but ummm I'd be a little ummm uncomfortable with that. I mean, you errr you said he wasn't that nice so ummm yeah, that'd be a little weird." He admitted, twisting his fingers together nervously. He hoped she didn't take that as a personal rejection, he just though tit would be awkward to wear the same clothing as someone who had controlled her every move.

Bree hadn't really considered that aspect of the offer and blushed. "Yeah I guess that might be uncomfortable for both of us. It would probably be better to put them in the rummage sale stuff. Your mom seemed put out. Did I do something to offend her last night? She seemed all right when I left?" They had never discussed the fact that them having differing religious backgrounds might lead to problems with Mew's family so she really wasn't aware this was temple time for the Fischer's. "I really like your family Mew. Especially Libby, if she would like to get into cheerleading I could probably help her. I will more than likely be squad captain next year, so I will be leading the try outs. Ask her if she is interested, okay?"

"No, no, you didn't offend her!" Mew hurriedly assured the other red-head. "She's just kiiiiiiiiiind of not happy you're a goy. No offense! That's her word, not mine. She's a little farfrumt sometimes, thinks we should all marry nice Jewish partners. Dad doesn't care as much." He decided not to elaborate on that, since the only reason his father didn't care was because they were only in high school and therefore not serious. The moment his father got a whiff that there was anything permanent going on he'd make sure the girl (or boy) was either Jewish or willing to convert. "She'll get over it." He added, not entirely convinced or convincing. Yell had only dated Jewish girls, and the only boy Libby had (sort of) dated went to temple with them, so it had never been an issue.
"Libby'd like that. Are you sure it's a good idea, though?" He was worried that she might get in trouble for favoring his sister, especially when there were other, more talented girls trying out for the squad. He'd never seen Libby actually practice any gymnastics, even though she claimed to really enjoy them and wanted to be a cheerleader. "Maybe you should, I dunno, get one of your friends to coach her or something first. She doesn't really practice, mostly she goes to the mall and ogles guys. I'll ask her, though."
He rested his elbow against the car window, sighing. He was nervous about this party, but he didn't want to say that aloud. So instead he said, "Hey, so how long does this last? We'll have time to make it to Anderson's by three, right?"

The room is only rented until one, so we should have plenty of time and I brought my dice and my figure with me. Periwinkle is ready to rock," Bree almost gloated. She thought she had done a great job on her little lead figure. Mata Hari had nothing on her hobbit. She was as sexy as a halfling could be with plenty of style. They walked and Bree took a detour to the front desk and asked for the event manager. As soon as he arrived she gave him the check and then lead Mew to the gardens where the brunch was set up. It was beautiful with whitecloths over bright yellow ones and cut crystal with Audobon painted china. "Our seats are over there at the main table near the fountain. The buffet tables were piled with all kinds of goodies. Bree went to pick some fruits and a bagel with lox and herbed soft cheese. When Bree got back to her chair she dinged on the crystal to get everyone's attention. "Welcome everyone! I want to thank all of you attending. Please fill your plates and then get settled. I would like to talk to you all about a project that is very close to my heart and one that I hope will inspire many of you as well.
