For Brittany, dying her hair was a form a therapy. Every time something big was going on, she tended to change her hair color. Sure she tended to stay in the family of reds and oranges, but it was still a change never-the-less. So on Friday, after Brittany had taken off, instead of getting lunch, she'd decided to get some new hair dye. She'd got some orange, mostly because Evan had said he wanted red. She'd bleached the blue streak out of her hair and then dyed half of it orange, including her bangs. She left some of the blonde underneath on one side though, kind of on a whim. And Saturday morning, when she woke up, she kind of did feel a little better.
She'd thought about whether she should go to the brunch or not. Sure, Evan had pushed her to do it, but so what. She'd still be getting under Aly and Tyler's skin by showing up, so she figured what the hell. Plus, it would be a good distraction. Brittany didn't really want to get dressed up, but she knew she had to look semi-decent or they wouldn't even let her in the front door of the Four Seasons. So she grabbed a pair of gray jeans, a black top and a pair of flats, doing up her makeup with bright orange and yellow dramatically around her eyes like she liked to do when she was on stage. Plus, it matched her hair.
Feeling slightly in a better mood, Brittany walked over to Aly's room and knocked on the door. "Ready for brunch? What time do you want to leave?" she asked, over enthusiastically.

Aly was nervous. She was watching her clock. Yes she had plans with Tyler and yes she knew what she had implied. That was not the problem. Aly was looking forward to spending time with Tyler. perhaps it would help this stupid crush she had on jasper. Perhaps this is what she needed to get over him. The problem was that Aly needed to tell Tyler she was a virgin because he would find out one way or the other.
Aly was busy getting prepared. She wore black skirt. Her hair was up with hair pins in it. Her shirt was red and tight in all the right places. Aly always took pride in her appearance. When Barney showed up at the door Aly was shocked, but she kept her composure so no one would know. Aly had no idea Barney was even thinking of going to the brunch. She could not imagine what a girl like her would do at a Brunch like Bree's.
"I think I need a picture. for once you look normal, with the minor exception of your make up. Your an amateur, so I can give you tips." Aly said with a smile as she finished up. Her final touch was a gold necklace that was a four leaf clovers. It was the last gift her mother gave her. "I am ready now. We can take my car." Aly stood up and walked down the stairs. "You look different...your hair...do you ever actually go with a normal color." Aly had no idea what happened with Evan, Syn or anyone else.

"I look normal? Maybe I should change," Brittany quipped, surprised that Aly didn't comment on her hair. "Um...I don't think I need makeup tips from you," Brittany said, shaking her head. "This is how I do my makeup when the band performs," she pointed out. She was kind of surprised that Aly was being so calm about her going, but figured she'd go with it for now. As she followed Aly down the stairs she finally got the hair comment. Brit laughed. "Normal is over rated--plus it was blonde for like 2 weeks," she pointed out.
Brittany followed Aly to her car and got in. Brittany wasn't the best at hiding her feelings and it was pretty cool that she wasn't as upbeat as she normally was. "So, you're not mad that I'm coming?" she asked as Aly started to drive. "I thought you'd be pissed off," Brittany said. After all, that was sort of the point....to piss Aly off. Evan would be disappointed when he found out that Aly didn't care. Brittany frowned at the thought of Evan. She slouched down in the seat a little and looked out the window. Maybe going to this brunch had been a mistake...

Aly looked at her as Barney asked about her being mad, "I had a revelation last night when I was in my yoga class. To be mad at you takes way to much time and energy, when I can focus it some where else. Besides I have the satisfaction that you are going to a Brunch full of cheerleaders. So that will be very interesting, especially if they are reminded about a little stunt some I know pulled. A few of them are still rather upset about it." Aly said with a smirk. Sure she was irritated Barney was going, but no way she would announce it and give the blonde haired monster the satisfaction.
Aly eyed Barney for a moment, "What no retort, no snappy come back about me or something." Aly raised a brow, "Oh my god, you are upset aren't you." Aly commented, "I never thought anything could bring you down to the gloom level." Although for someone who was upset Barney was hardly too gloomy, but she was not as excited as she normally was. Even Aly could see that.
"So spill, what happened now? One of the animals realized you guys are ugly and run away. Did they choose a better home." Aly said in a snarky voice. She still had no idea about what happened with Evan. "Come...Dad and your mom will be proud..we are sister bonding.." Aly said with a slight laugh at the idea.

Brittany's face dropped when Aly pointed out that she was going to a brunch full of cheerleaders who were all pissed at her about the prank. Here she thought that she was just going to piss Aly off but it was the other way around. It was almost like a trap. Well, it seemed that Aly had won this round, Brittany thought to herself, unless she could call Ian or someone to pick her up from the hotel. She'd have to access the situation once she got there. "You can't prove that," she said simply when Aly said that she knew that Brittany was behind the prank.
She bit down on her lower lip when Aly realized that she was upset. "I'm fine," she insisted stubbornly, but it was clear that she wasn't. The hurt was still all over her face, whether she liked it or not. "NO," Brittany said, sounding a little annoyed when Aly suggested the animal thing.
She let out a sigh. "Evan cheated on me," she finally said after a long pause. "Well, he might have. He claims that he didn't kiss her back and even she says that he didn't kiss her back...but...I met her and...and she looks like me...well, she doesn't look like me, she's way prettier but she has like my style, so she'd like Evan's type. And how am I supposed to know what the truth is? And then he told me that he loved me...but only after he did whatever with that Syn girl...and I thought I believed him but now I don't know cause what if he was just saying that because I was mad...ya know...or so I'd sleep with him again, which I did. I shouldn't have," she said shaking her head. "I should have never slept with him....but there was that stupid shooting and both you and Zac were in the hospital and suddenly it seemed like anything could happen and I like could have died if you hadn't pushed me out of the way and if I had I would have been like a virgin, ya know. And Evan was like so nice to me and I really did care about him...do care about him...and I dunno," she said shaking her head. "But I think it was a bad idea now." She let out another sigh and turned to look at Aly while she drove. "And for the record I only told you all this because I know you have way more experience with guys," she said. She paused again. "So...what should I do? Do you think it counts as cheating?" she asked, her voice more meek now.

Aly smirked, "Please of course you pulled the prank. it had childish written all over it." Aly told her step sister. The Brit went into a speech about Evan cheating and Aly was shocked. She never thought tht guy would ever dare kiss another woman. Well ne thing was for sure. Syn was not on Aly's hit list. No one messed with Brit. Except Aly of course. This Syn girl would need a talking to.
"I don't think you even took a breath there. Good thing I have good hearing." Aly commented. She was not sure what to say to be honest. She had been kidding about the sisterly bonding cause they would never really do the whole sister bonding thing. At least not the normal way anyway. They were not about to go to the nearest mall and go shopping, so this is as good as it got.
Aly sighed as she thought of what to say it was complicated. Evan had not seemed like the kind of guy to cheat, whether it was kissing another person or not, but apparently he was. "Wait...you spoke with her....now that was stupid." She told Barney. "You don't talk to the person your boyfriend kiss...it will always make you feel like crap." She was being honest.
"Sorry that came out wrong." Aly parked the car at the brunch and turned to look at Barney. "Look I might not know this Syn girl, but I highly doubt she is prettier then you and there is no way she is like you. You are defiantly one of a kind. I cannot imagine two of you." Aly told her, "Thats a compliment."
Aly moved some hair from her face. "All guys are different. Some of the ones I have dated have been real jerks. As much as it pains me to say this Evan is not a bad guy...he made a stupid decision. I cannot answer the question about cheating...only you can do that....Do you think Evan kissing this Syn girl is cheating?" Aly asked her.
"As for the whole love thing, I would not know what to say to that. Do you think he means it?" She asked Barney. "The best advice I can give you, and you are going to hate it...is go with your gut and talk to him. Be honest. Tell Evan how you feel. Cause if you don't, its going to eat at you, until you resent the man." Now if only she could take her own advice. "And then tell Evan to watch his head cause next time I see him, he will be getting a smack upside the head."

"There's no proof," Brittany insisted once again about the prank. "But I think whoever came up with it was very clever," she grinned. She supposed it didn't matter too much if Aly knew that it was her, however she didn't want the word spreading around too much. Although knowing Aly, she'd probably already told the entire cheerleading squad of both Gould and Silver.
"Well...I didn't mean to speak to her...she kind of walked by and I called her a bitch and I accidentally said it louder than I meant to," Brittany admitted. "But she said that Evan didn't do anything...that it was all her...and that's the same thing that Evan said too..." Brittany paused, "But how is that possible? I mean if someone kisses you...if your lips touch doesn't that mean its a kiss? I mean he could have like moved...gave her a cheek or moved so fast that her lips didn't have a chance to get near his... And how did he even get himself into the situation?" Brittany complained.
"No...she is like me though...like me if I wore skirts," Brittany said. "She has like streaks of black in her hair and dresses all punk...and she is prettier. And taller...with bigger boobs," Brittany said. She was pretty much everything that Brittany wasn't.
She let out a sigh when Aly went on about Evan not being a bad guy. And then she only made it worse by telling her she needed to talk to him about it and tell him how she felt. Brittany made a face and folder her arms across her chest. She groaned, "Why do you have to being all mature about it," she said. She sighed again. They were parked now...at the brunch. "You go ahead," she said. "I don't think I'm going to go in just yet," Brittany said, or at all, she thought to herself. She wasn't going to call Evan or anything...no, she still didn't want to talk to him. But maybe she'd see what Ian was up to or maybe Eddie. Maybe she could even get a ride from the brunch...or maybe she'd even walk back on her own. It would be a long walk but Brittany sort of liked the idea of that. Either way, she'd already decided that she was not going to the brunch. She just wasn't going to tell Aly that just yet.

"I don't need proof to prove you are behind it. Besides I am not going to tell the Principle or anything. That would be too easy..." That was all Aly would say about it. Her devilish smirk might say more, but there was no way Brit would know what was coming. Besides Brit would be stupid if she had not expected some sort of payback. No one pranks the cheerleaders and does not expect something to happen back. Let the games begin.
"Listen Barney, a kiss is a kiss. No matter if someone did not kiss back. The point is what happened next. At least your idiot boyfriend stopped. But you have to ask yourself...can you get over him and this other girl?" Aly could be mature cause it was not her. Had it been her she would have slapped the crap out of her boyfriend then kicked him to the curb until she got over being angry. Then again Aly had a tendency to over react. "I suspect the spawn of satan is not as good with girls as he says, or else it would have been obvious the girl was going to kiss him."
Aly took a deep breath, "I am so going to regret this, but listen...just because this girl might be prettier and have bigger boobs does not make her better then you. People are only better if you say they are. She is not better then you. If anything she is a copy cat, who thinks she can be you." Aly said. "Its confidence. And you have that in spades, do not let this girl take it from you." Aly told her sister.
"I am mature cause for once its nice to see you needing my advice." She smiled a soft smile and laughed a little. "Besides never say I am not a good sis...step sister. " Aly winked. "After all I cannot pick on you when you are upset. Also this gives me a reason to smack Evan upside the head which I have been wanting to for a while cause it sounds like fun."

Dare stepped out into the sunshine and his eyes were immediately drawn to a car with two girls conversing. Mainly because one girl had hair a very unlikely shade of red which meant more than likely she was Evan's girlfriend Brittany. Being in a friendly mood and still grateful to Evan for being there for him in his darkest hour, Dare went over to introduce himself. The other girl was scary. Obviously one of Bree's cheerleaders, but they usually disappeared when he showed up so he wasn't too worried.
"Hi... Are you Brittany Barnes? I was hoping I would see you here. I am Dare Madison and since you missed the speech I would like to make you an offer in person if you don't mind," he said looking uncomfortable and shy.

Brittany wondered what Aly had in store for her. Judging from her smirk, Brittany knew that maybe she should watch her back, yet at the same time, she wasn't too worried about Aly. She didn't think Aly had it in her to do anything too bad. Although she had pulled off that hair bleach and clothes thing. Brittany would just have to watch her back. It didn't occur to her that the others would be in danger too.
But she wasn't so much worried about that right now. She was more focused on when Aly was saying about her boyfriend. A kiss was a kiss. So whether he kissed back or not...he let it happen. That was cheating. Could Brittany get over that? She wasn't sure that she could. Yet, she couldn't imagine not being with Evan either. Maybe she would have to talk to him...something she was dreading. She wasn't usually confrontational unless she had to be.
"You didn't see her," Brittany said, sulking a little. "This just all sucks," she groaned. She didn't feel like being mature about it. She was in the wallowing faze and it didn't seem like she was coming out of it any time soon. "I don't feel very confident..." Brittany mumbled. Her confidence had already been taken away and Brittany was in too much of a mood to think she could ever get it back.
"Well, you have my permission to smack Evan," Brittany said. "And this is probably the only time I'll give you that permission so take advantage," Brittany told her. Aly was a good step-sister. She'd never admit it to her, but she did appreciate the advice. And it was nice to know that she could always count on Aly in a pinch.
It was then that Dare appeared. Brittany recognized him from school and knew who he was even though she had never really hung out with him before. "Yeah...you're Evan's friend," she said, trying not to sound as sullen as she felt thinking about Evan. "What speech?" she asked. The brunch was the farthest thing from her mind right now and she had no clue what he was talking about. Was it about Evan? Had Evan said something to him about what had happened? Brittany of course had no clue that Dare was Syn's brother.
