Trenton was sprawled out across the living room floor, folding tiny colorful squares into dinosaurs and then lining them up across from one another, pretending there was a vicious dino-battle going on in his house. This was much better than the vicious familial battle that involved Uncle James and his father, who were shouting at one another in the kitchen. Or rather, Uncle James was shouting at father, and father was simply pretending he didn't hear. Trenton wished that he couldn't hear.
Just another pretty face...can't even make money off your modeling anymore...ruined her career...good for nothing, she ought to leave and find someone sensible...
Trenton moved his dinosaurs closer to one another, situating one of them to appear as if it were eating the other's head off. "Rawr, you don't shut up I'll eat your face off." He muttered to himself as he made dinosaur number one ravage number two. Uncle James' presence was nothing but disruptive. He tried to turn his sister against their father, and tried to cajole with his mother to help him. At least Nana managed to wave aside her son's misgivings, but then she was more concerned with picking up candy from the drug store without paying for it, and hadn't the tabloids been all over that!
He'd grown up with cameras pointing at him, had been entertainment for millions, but that was supposed to be over now. Only, it wasn't, because reporters insisted on following the family around. And while he didn't really mind attention, particularly if up to some stunt, he wanted his family to be happy again and he didn't particularly want the entire world to know they were having any sort of problems at all.
