Varina is very fashion conscious, but her absolute favorite involves the wild colors and layers of the 80s. Skinny jeans and a brightly colored top from Aeropostle, Hollister, Banana Republic, or any other "must buy from" store out there. All of her fashion ideas come from magazines and what she sees on TV. If it's funky and unrealistic, then it MUST be fashion forward.
She and her mother often share a closet and swap clothes whenever.
Personality: V is a very in-your-face sort of person. She tries too hard to be one of the popular girls in apperance and personality, but falls into the "middle-of-the-road" category for most. Her aspirations of becoming a model are high, but she has no idea how to push herself into the field or even what she'd do once she got there.
Under the impression that she's a colorful prep-type, Varina tries to rub elbows with the likes of Sarah and her crowd, but often finds herself standing on the outside looking in. While this hurts, she doesn't let it keep her down for long, she has other things to do, after all, like make sure her brother, Jefferson, looks and acts gay! (Seriously! In her attempts to "gay up" her brother, Winnie had swapped his Seether CDs for the likes of Johnny McGovern, and The Nylons; she's tapped over his Alabama championship games with Queer As Folk; she's broken into his locker to cover the interior with scantily clad men, subscribed him to OUT magazine, added gay porn sites on his laptop, and thrown away his beloved 'Bama t-shirts. (ZOMG they were so gross!). She wants desperately for him to look and act the way she believes all gay boys to look and act.
When it comes to the rest of her family, Varina worships her mother. If any girl has had a good relationship with their mother V and Helen are the poster. They share clothes, books, and any time they go shopping together Helen is often mistaken for Varina's older sister.
