Joining
Please post a character application with writing sample when joining. Your writing sample may be a plug in from another site you are involved in or it could be new. It can be an introduction to the character you are applying for.
You MAY NOT POST until your character is approved by one of the mods. We generally respond fairly quickly, so you shouldn't have to wait more than a day for approval.
Request access to the wiki if you wish to make spiffy character pages. Just be sure not to upload any pictures.

This game is based on a quasi-real life in high school. There are no vampires or mutants or ghosts or space aliens, but think high school as portrayed by countless television shows. Not always entirely realistic, but not fantastical, either. California allows gay marriage in this game, for instance, and neither Bush nor Obama exist on the political stage.
While characters are allowed to be politically interested, please keep in mind that real world politicians shall not be mentioned. Also keep in mind that our players span many different beliefs so NO MOCKING.
We do not have a post length minimum. However, some players request matching post lengths for their threads. Check our stickied thread.
Please let us know if you will be absent for an extended period of time. If you disappear without warning you are liable to have the mods constantly pestering you, wondering where you are.
Your character can't read minds. Nor can they control how another character will behave. Nor, for that matter, are they invincible
Implied sexual situations are fine, but don't post sex scenes on the board. Remember that proboard's TOS is for PG-13 content at the highest. We don't want to get deleted!
Plots are wonderful things, if you have a plot then that's great! Let the mods know if there is anything they can do to help perpetuate your plot. Just DO NOT TRY AND FORCE PEOPLE into your plot.
Please DON'T BE PUSHY about posting. Don't tell people to reply to you in the c-box and don't tell them they have to thread with you over IM. You should ask before tagging someone, as well.
Characters
Sure, base your character off existing media. As long as you make them fit in with the setting, I do not really care.
Check the wiki for taken celebs, names and PB suggestions as well as class lists(Gould and Silver) and extracurriculars (Gould and Silver).
If you're leaving behind a character who is extensively involved in other people's plots and you don't leave an exit strategy the mods will either write the character out of the game or put the character up for adoption at their discretion.
There is no activity check but please, PLEASE inform us if you no longer have an interest in playing. Put up your LOA in the Notice board and if we don't see it on the notice board and you have been given a one week's notice via email, the mods will throw cookies at your head and put up your characters for adoption.
Lastly, have fun. Like seriously. It's a game, plots are your friends, don't bring RL drama or feelings into your character's lives. It's better off being in RL.
