"Thanks! Thanks a lot!" Greg was just amazed by the news he had just received. He would be also playing the lead in Gould's production of 'Grease'. Someone was looking out for him! He had heard two girls were playing Sandy so it made sense to have two Dannys as well. He would be playing opposite of a girl named Jude.
He started to flip through his script, marking his lines. If it wasn't for the blocking, he'd have the script learned within a few days. He should be fair to the others though, not knowing if they had any training or the backing like he had.
With script tucked under his arm, he headed to the cafeteria and got his lunch. He searched for an open seat somewhere. Seemed like if you didn't get there early, you lost out on a seat. He did smile though, this is what life was like without celeb status.
Finally he saw a spot opened, with a person at the table. "Hey," He started. "Is it ok if join you here? Looks like the other places are taken." He brushed a few hairs that had fallen into his face out of the way.

Waiting for the bell was torture for Jude as she was about to find out about her role in Grease. She was twitching in her seat by her period before lunch and shot out of her chair when the bell finally rang.
As she zipped through the halls, her dress flapped about her knees and she managed not to hit anyone in the way. She arrived at the character sheet but didn't need to look any further as she saw her name beside Sandy for Thursdays and Saturdays. Her smile widened and everything else was tenporarily forgotten. Except for Eddie. It would be cool to share this news with him.
So with another sprint to the cafeteria, she made a point to be on a lookout for her cute new friend. But when she didn't see him, her smile dropped just slightly but she sat down on one of the chairs anyway and started on her lunch. She was still reeling from the good news though so when someone started to talk to her, she turned and lifted her smile to be polite.
The boy was vaguely familiar. Good-looking no doubt. Her smile softened when she saw his predicament.
"Hi, please...join me." She scooted over a bit for the boy to sit down. "I'm Jude. Kind of new so what's your name?"

Alex had a big smile on her face at the idea of a weekend with Kai. Even if it was just for a night, and the idea that Ashley did not mind Greg coming along. Although the idea made her a tad sad, because it just confirmed that she had blown things with Ashley, but Alex was excited to spend time with Greg. granted Kai would be there, but Kai was a part of her life. she just hoped Greg could accept that. Alex was kind of nervous. She could not stop thinking that Greg might say no and might not want to hang out with her and her son. Of course that was his write, but she would be saddened.
Speak of the devil. Besides Ashley, Greg was the only other man in her mind and she spotted him. But sitting next to him was a cute blond which made Alex a tad jealous. Of course she had no reason to be jealous. She was still hung up on Ashley, but still she did kind of enjoy Greg's company and did not even think he might have a girlfriend.
Alex contemplated going over, but it could not hurt to at least say hi, besides fate was calling to her since the only free seat was on the other side of Greg. So Alex walked over, "Gregory." She called her British accent ringing through the air. She walked over and put her tray down. "Mind if I join you both, for a moment I was frightened I would sit alone, and I get rather bored with lunch rather easily and I am starved for conversation." Alex eyed Jude, she was even prettier in person, wonderful. "Hello my name Is Alex. Pleasure to meet you."

"Thanks a lot." Greg said sitting beside her, recalling her name. "I'm Greg, one of the students from Silver." He introduced himself when it dawned on him what her name was. "Oh you'll be Sandy to my Danny. I just found out today they wanted to have me in the show." He had to admit she was easy on the eyes and friendly enough as well, but as time told him, wait till rehearsals and see if the diva comes out.
"I guess my guardian angel was looking out for me, even though I'll be rehearsing for two shows at once. I was also in the chorus for Silver's production of 'South Pacific', truth be told here, I'd rather be doing 'Grease' anytime." Course he just liked acting no matter what it was.
He heard someone call his name, with a British accent. That had to be Alex. This was going to be awkward. He waved to her. "Hey Alex, I guess its ok to join us here. I was just telling Jude I was cast as Danny in the school production here." He wasn't quite sure what to do. "Jude this is Alex, Alex this is Jude."

The arrival of the English accented girl brought a bigger smile on Jude. Today is pretty much looking up. If this girl was as nice as her sweet voice was it meant she was going to have a friend by the end of lunch. The revelation that the boy would be her Danny Zuko for the play was surprising. The guy looked way too sweet to play bad ass Danny Zuko!
As introductions were made, Jude shook both their hands and passed pleasantries, just as her parents had taught her to do. Be polite, make new friends. First impressions count and as long as you are friendly, it didn't matter how the other person reacted.
"That's wonderful news! I'm so glad to have bumped into you." She admitted. "I just found out I got the part. I mean, I didn't even audition for the role!" She giggled at Greg before turning her attention to Alex.
"Oh please do join us. The more the merrier." Jude was obviously beginning to show her sprightly manner. It had been a few weeks already since she first entered Gould so it's better for her to just release her inhibitions if only to make more friends. Being with Eddie was excellent. Yesterday night had gone so well. But she didn't want to revolve her whole life aorund a boy. She knew how destructive that kind of attitude was, as she had seen plenty of girls her age go through it all scathed.
She then turned again to Greg and bit her lower lip before saying it out loud. "You're an actor aren't you?" She asked when she finally realised why he looked so familiar. She had probably been channel surfing and saw him in a soap opera but seeing as she didn't very much like soap operas, she didn't linger too long on the channel but she couldn't help admitting that she had found him incredibly cute.

Alex sat down and slowly started to eat. "School play... congratulations. I must come watch you on opening night. Both of you." She said with a smile. Although Alex had never really scene of Grease she had heard of it. "I admire you both for your courage. I could never begin to go on stage. I would clam up and it would be a bloody mess." She commented.
"I would love to help you run lines...is that what they call it." Alex was willing to help. Besides she wanted to make a friend in Jude and hang out with Greg some more. she smiled at Greg for a moment before looking at the both of them again. "Which made me remember. I was wondering Greg if you would care to share your company with me this weekend...you are more then welcome to come along too Jude. I am fairly new, so I would love to get to see this place outside of school." She commented.
"Kai will be joining us too." She told Greg, since he at least knew who Kai was. "He is my son and I will be spending time with him this weekend, but I was hoping you both would still join me. I would love the company. I am new so meeting new people had not been the easiest part." she hoped they both said yes.
Alex cocked her head to the side and looked at Greg curious. She had no idea he had been an actor. Then again American shows were not her forte.

"There's coincidence then, I didn't audition either. I keep thinking my sister and my friend put some good words in for me to get the role. What ever it was I won't argue about it."
"Actually being on stage is no different than playing on a sports team, its just in a different medium." Greg explained to Alex. "But there's many ways to help out, like you said run lines with the actors, help with costumes, build sets. Something I learned at an early age is that no one is more important than another." He thought a moment about Alex's invitation. "Sounds good to me, I'll need the bigger car though, a mini cooper won't hold four of us." He laughed a little.
Someone knew his backing. "I am or rather was." Jude hadn't flipped out over it, which was perfect for Greg. "I enjoyed it while I did it but I knew I wouldn't been a kid for much longer so I needed a break from it." He scoffed a little. "And look at me, taking a lead role in a school show, guess its just in my blood."

Alex's insecurities was something Jude found incredibly endearing. Such a pretty girl but no confidence to be on stage. Jude supposed the British girl was humble. Which was good. Not a lot of pretty girls around that have the same humility.
"I guess it all works for me because I've been on stage since I knew how to walk. My mother pushed me hard. I guess I have her to thank." Jude smiled affectionately. Her only regret was her musical career when she was a pre-teen. That had been thoroughly embarrassing. She was glad she had moved out of Georgia and changed herself completely. No one should ever find out about her teeny bopper singer status.
The invitation to go out immediately brightened Jude up but the revelation that Alex already had a son was something Jude didn't think she would ever hear. Although she had heard of teenage mothers, she never thought such a young girl could go through it. Gulping slightly, she tried righting her trembling lips into a smile. "How old is your son?" she tried for normal conversation but when Greg confirmed that he was indeed an actor, Jude immediately changed her train of thought. "Wow...I'm in the presence of a star." Jude grinned.
"Oh but I'm quite glad I have a professional as my partner. At least you can teach me a thing or two." She tilted her head slightly at Greg before sipping her juice. She didn't want Alex to think she was uncomfortable around her because of her kid. Jude wasn't the type to care about it. It just surprised her how casual Alex seemed to be about it. "I'd love to join you...I'd like to meet your son." She forced her smile to brighten.

That went rather pleasantly. No one sent her packing because she had a son. In London she would have been laughed right out of the lunchroom. it would become a spectacle. Part of the reason she left. Alex was glad her son was being raised in America. Besides her father would have made her give Kai up the moment she set foot on London soil. "I most defiantly want to help, and see the play. Although I have never seen grease, I must see it now."
Alex was glad that both of then agreed to join her. "My son is two. His name is Kai." She informed Jude. Alex was proud of her son. Sure she knew she was a tad too young to have a son, but she would not take it back for anything in the world. He was a great kid. "Splendid. I am grateful you both will be joining me. Here is my number Jude, please message me or give me a ring." Alex wrote her number on a piece of paper.
"I look forward to seeing you both this weekend. You both may invite people. They can meet us of course so no one needs a bigger car. I have yet to learn how to drive. I just recently realized you all drive on the other side of the street." Alex said with a small laugh.
"So you were on the tele and then stopped to be a normal kid. Bless your heart Gregory. That must not have been an easy decision, but being in high school suits you rather well." She gave him a very friendly smile. He was cute after all. This was great, a great day.
