Feeling so much better about his relationship with Brittany and where they stood than the night before, and having spent an awesome lazy morning with said hot girlfriend, it was an even cheerier Evan than usual who drove to the school, with Brit in tow. Not only did the morning put him in a great mood, but he remembered his matchmaking duties that Dare gave him, and he was going to get started today. When he figured out what to do.
He and Brit managed to make their way into school when he remembered he left some very important things in the car. So giving her a big sloppy kiss, he made his way back out into the parking lot to grab his candy bars when he happened to spot probably the two best people to help him with him playing Cupid. And it seemed like he and Brit weren’t the only ones with plans for a late morning. “Kian, Photo Dude!” he yelled out, and just in case they didn’t hear his overly loud voice, he started jumping up and down on the spot, waving his hands enthusiastically around.
Kian put his hand on Connor's thigh and pointed towards his energetic friend. "I get the feeling he wants to talk to us, Connor... what do you think?" he asked with a crooked grin. He waved back to Evan. As Connor parked, Kian gathered their things for school. He was wearing shorts and a tank top under a blue shirt. His selection of clothing on the boat was still rather minimal.
"Hey Evan," Kian said climbing out of the car. "What's up? Is there a squad of pissed off cheerleaders waiting inside?"
“He does? I’m not sure. Let’s just talk to him anyway.” Connor grinned back, still amused by the nickname Kian’s friend, well now his friend he supposed, saw fit to dub him with. Hopping out of the car, he moved over to Kian’s side to take his hand, watching as Evan rushed up.
“Nah, but that’s a good idea if that ever happens! I’ll just toss both of you to them, girls love gay guys, right?” Evan grinned, bouncing on the balls of his feet. He was clearly excited. “See, the thing is, I need a gay guy. Or, I suppose I’d settle for a bisexual guy. But he’s gotta be like a manly one. Not an overly manly guy really, but like, a top, is that right?” he wondered aloud. “Like, which one of you is the top? That’s the right way of putting it, isn’t it?” He realised then the odd looks both guys were giving him, and laughed. “I want to set my friend up.”
Kian was having a hard time keeping a straight face. Evan was more over the top than usual, but it was in a fun way. He didn't mind questions as long as they were sincere and not mocking. And the thought of Evan playing cupid was amusing as hell. "Connor is the more manly between us," Kian said with a chuckle. He never really considered himself feminine but he was definitely a bottom. "Well... its hard to recommend someone we don't know what they are like. I can think of a few that are free at the moment though. Like Mike, he hasn't 'dated' anyone since Jade I think."
At Kian’s insistence that he was the more manly one in the relationship, Connor couldn’t help but grin as he playfully ‘stretched’ his arms, flexing his not yet quite noticeable muscles. He picked up on Evan being a little more hyper than normal too, but he figured that maybe he just overdosed on sugar. He hadn’t known the guy for that long, but it was long enough to know he loved his sugar.
“Mike! Can’t believe I didn’t think of him myself!” Evan cried out, a big smile on his face. He liked Mike, and though he had heard the guy wasn’t the best at dating and stuff, he figured maybe he hadn’t just met the right guy yet or something. And Dare was pretty cool, he couldn’t see anyone not being able to like Dare. Plus, Mike was definitely more masculine than his other friend. “I’ll set him up with Mike! Oh, suppose I better check with Mike first though.” he added.
Kian nodded. "Might be a good idea or you could just invite them somewhere that they can meet each other without a lot of pressure. Like your jam session tomorrow or the bowling thing on Sunday," he suggested, looking into his mind to find things he could see Mike attending. "Mike is usually in the cafeteria for lunch so you can ask him then... Who's your friend?" Kian couldn't help being curious. He didn't even knew Evan knew many gay people. He only knew him through Patch who had been his best friend in elementary school.
“That’s a mad idea! See, always with the thinking! You’re good Kian.” Evan chuckled, really glad he had run into the two of them now. Dare did seem really shy, it might help if there were other people around and they were all doing something fun. Plus, Evan could always get them talking if he needed too. He was good at that. “Cool, I’ll talk to him about it then. It’s Dare. He’s um...” he said, trying to describe him, holding a hand against himself, “About this tall, got long blonde hair, pretty cool.”
Dropping Kian’s hand, Connor moved an arm around his waist instead, their night on the boat together and the current conversation making him feel all lovey. The idea of anyone trusting Evan to play matchmaker was a bit amusing, but at least he seemed enthusiastic about it. “Dare...yeah, I think I’ve seen him around.”
"Oh yeah, I know him," Kian said snuggling against Connor. "I didn't even realize he was gay, he's like all into hard rock and stuff." Kian tended to be more into the more stereotypical 'gay' music Broadway and such. Now that Evan had said something he could see it though. Dare was practically delicate really, so tiny. "He played his guitar for me one day, he's good. He asked me to come over some time and sing with him and show off my keyboard skills." Kian laughed for he hadn't practiced in months and had never been that impressed with himself anyway. "I think Mike would like him.
“Don’t blame him, you’re really good.” Connor added, grinning just a little proudly at Kian. He wasn’t biased, he just could tell that his boyfriend was a really good singer. And though he hadn’t been blessed to see his keyboard skills in action too much, he thought he was good at that too. Kian was good at a lot really. And though he really liked High School Musical, that had mostly been the extent of Connor’s musical knowledge until he started dating Kian. Now with his boyfriend sprouting off musical numbers without even realising it half the time, he felt much better educated.
“Course Mike will like him! They’re both pretty cool. Not as cool as me but, who is? Besides Brit of course.” Evan laughed brightly, bouncing around even more excitedly now at the mention of her. And grinning just a bit too widely, even by his standards. “You guys should come with me when I talk to him at lunch, help me talk him into the idea. Just in case.”
Kian looked a bit skeptical, he hadn't even been invited to the jam, just a general kind of invitation for 'sometime' "Evan I don't know, Mike might kinda think its weird for us to be inviting him somewhere we haven't been invited, he is kind of a smart guy, he'll realize there is something odd going on. Though I did have a proposition I was going to make him after I had discussed it with Connor... I just kept forgetting to bring it up. "
“Proposition huh? What kinda proposition? Cause if it’s about candy, why didn’t you come to me about it first?” Evan teased, unable to help himself. “Well, you guys can come if you want, but you probably just wanna you know, make out and stuff. You both so can’t keep your hands off each other.” he laughed, not in the least bit bothered. He and Brit were often the same. “And I could just say there’s someone I want him to meet. Cause I should probably warn Dare too.”
“Yeah, what kind of proposition?” Connor asked, a smile on his face, more than a little curious now, having absolutely no idea. It was all rather cryptic really.
Kian kissed Connor's cheek and held him closer. "No biggie really. With the weather getting warmer I am kind of worried about the boat being empty during the week. I thought maybe Mike would like to stay on it for us. He could have one of the other bedrooms, cause we will only need them if we have a overnight big party or something. Mike would be invited anyway or if he needs to stay in town and we take the boat out, Mom said he could stay in my room at the house. I have known him for quite a while and she likes him. She doesn't know about some of the more recent stuf that happened though. He would have to swear there would be no drugs."
It was Kian’s boat after all, so he could do whatever he wanted with it, but regardless Connor didn’t mind. Not too much. They were partly losing their make-out, and much more fun and intense other stuff, spot. Which would mean they would have to be more sneaky to find other spots. Which was actually quite appealing. “Sounds fine to me. Really nice of you.” he grinned.
Evan laughed, shaking his head. “Yep, seriously, you two are far worse than me and Brit. Brit.” This made him smile even more again, followed by more exuberant bouncing around. “Pity Patch couldn’t see you now, maybe it’s inspire him to get all loved up.” he smirked, knowing how impossible that was. “I would love to set him up.”
Kian burst out laughing. "That would be fun, but kind of cruel to his intended," he said. He loved Patch like a brother, but he was not always kind to those that annoyed him. A blind date would definitely qualify for that. "Would you like to check out Dare and Evan's jam session tomorrow, Connor?" It might be fun watching Evan match make.”
“Might? Might?!” Evan queried, trying his best to make himself look offended. Something he was currently failing with. “Everything I do is awesome and fun, and so of course, this is gonna be. I’m that good.”
Connor nodded at the offer. “Sure, I’ll come along, cheer everyone on and watch Cupid in action.” he laughed. He didn’t have any other plans at the moment, and seeing his boyfriend again was something he couldn’t knock back. And then he’d have to see Julia too sometime over the weekend. He had a lot of sucking up to do.
Kian thought over their schedule. "I think if we go to Dare's first and to Julia's a little late, it would be better than trying to leave her house early and that way we won't miss them first seeing each other. Do you think their heads will spin around and stars fly out of their eyes?" He asked, thinking of the cartoon versions of love at first sight.
Laughing, Connor squeezed his boyfriend’s waist gently. “I’m sure that’s exactly what will happen. After their eyes pop out of their heads and their jaws drop, of course.” he teased. It wasn’t exactly how it happened when he first saw Kian, but he’d definitely left him speechless. Even in the overly camp clothes he’d been wearing.
“How awesome would it be if they actually hit it off?” Evan enthused, rubbing his hands together in glee. “Then I can add playing Cupid to the list of things I’m awesome at. So you guys gonna help me talk Mike into going at lunch then?”
Kian squeezed Connor back and kissed him quickly also thinking about when they first met. He had never been so bold in his life and he thanked God often that he had been trying to settle that part in his psyche or he might never have met the man who turned him upside down and stole his heart as well as some other fun things. "Of course we don't want to miss a minute of this and when they get married we want front row seats."
“Of course, nothing but the best.” Connor chuckled, his fingers affectionately playing over Kian’s hip. “And I’ll make sure to have a handkerchief on me, I know how things like weddings get to you.”
Hearing this, Evan jumped around just a bit more excitedly. “Awesome, he can’t say no now. And if he does, I’ll just keep bugging him until he says yes, I can be persistent like that. If they get married, reckon they’ll let me be MC at the reception? That’ll be mad fun.”
Kian leaned tighter against Connor and whispered, "You might need more than one." He knew he was a sap when it came to romance, especially now that he had his own. "I can't think of anyone better qualified for MC than you Evan," he assured their friend. At the very least the guests would be amused at all times. He eyed Connor speculatively wondering if they would ever be in that position themselves. It was way to early to think seriously about, but the thought made him smile. He tugged on his boyfriend's scarf and kissed his throat.
“Brilliant! With you backing me and all, they’ll make me MC for sure! Now all I gotta do is get them to that stage first. Shouldn’t be too hard.” Evan laughed. “Ok, Brit’s probably waiting for me, so I’ve gotta get going. See ya both at lunch!” he laughed, leaving both for that reason, to be polite because Kian looked just about ready to jump Connor.
Managing a quick wave before Evan disappeared from view, he was surprisingly quick. Still smiling, he turned to Kian for another, not so brief kiss. “I guess we better get inside too.”
Kian had no desire to go to class but that was usual when he was with Connor. He only wished they had some classes they shared so he could at least gaze at Connor while he was bored. He turned to press himself against his lover and wound his fingers through his thick black curly hair and pulled him into a hot hungry kiss so he could be sure Connor would be thinking about him during class. "One kiss is never enough," he whispered against his full soft lips.
By the lovestruck look left on Connor’s face after that kiss, there was no mistaking just who he’d been thinking of the rest of the day, not just during his classes. “Yeah, never enough.” he readily agreed, giving in for one more kiss, trying to leave Kian breathless this time. “Ok. We better go. Before we talk each other into going back onto the boat.” he laughed, pulling away to take Kian’s hand instead.
Kian was definitely breathless and well on the way to witless. It was unsure whether he would have found his way inside without Connor leading him by the hand. Left at the door of his next class, he looked after his Irish boyfriend with large puppy dog eyes and barely kept from begging him to stay. He sighed and headed in to sit in the corner where his affliction would be less noticable.
