Danny sat on the edge of the fountain, trailing his thin fingers in the rippling water frowning at his reflection. He was regretting not having dressed up earlier. He reached up and started messing with his long richly dark hair, braiding pieces and looping them up to be secured with clips. He had quite enthralled himself with the process and forgot to watch for Julia's arrival. He stretched out long thin legs on the edge of the pool.
Despite his mundane clothing Danny still looked Fae sitting there with the water reflecting against his dark complexion. It was almost as if he was able to completely exist in the real world. He pulled his flute out of his bag and began to play a tune that could have come straight from the lips of a satyr as he enticed dryads to dance in an elven glade.

Julia flung herself down beside Danny, crossing one leg and leaning as far back as she could without falling into the fountain. She waited for him to finish playing, enjoying his solo; he was a marvelous flautist. When the last note drifted off she immediately sat up straighter, facing him with a look of greatest disapproval.
"You! I can't believe you didn't come to school today! I thought we were friends!" She chided, pushing long dark hair out of her face, "What sort of ridiculous stunt do you think you're pulling, texting me a goodbye? You didn't even give me a chance to think about whether I wanted to date you or Wynn or neither. I mean, honestly, you think I'm just going to be like, oh! Okay, sure, I'll choose Danny over Wynn when I pined after Wynn for so long. I'm still getting over him! It's not an easy choice!"
She shifted, knocking her purse into the fountain -- though she was so intent on Danny that she didn't notice. "And getting all jealous over my friends, just because they're guys! That's so annoying! I have guy friends, get over it. Getting into fights with them is so stupid, like you're trying to tell me who I can't be friends with. I seriously don't appreciate it. I mean, it's not that I wouldn't go out with you, we get along and I like you and all, but if you're gonna fight everyone I'm friends with we're not gonna work out."

Danny stared into Julia's eyes only letting his dark ones flicker away so he could snag her purse and then lay it on the grass to dry. He listened to her diatribe, absorbing her points and wondering if it were worthwhile to even try to defend himself. "I wouldn't have challenged... Wynn if he hadn't rudely interrupted my proposal and called me names, Julia. He attacked my honor. I would not have hurt your other friends. I was just annoyed that they were laughing at us." He took her hand fully expecting her to knock his away. "I thought I had made it ridiculously obvious from the moment I met you that I wanted you to be my lady. I have never given gifts to anyone else before and laid myself at a lady's feet and made chains of flowers for her beautiful hair and let her put flowers in my hair for that matter."
"What can I do to get you to see me as a serious suitor for your hand?" Danny asked, gazing into her eyes so intently, his vision began to go blurry and he had to hope she didn't think he was on the verge of tears.

Julia opened her mouth to reply, then snapped it shut again. She'd only realized belatedly that Connor had correctly assessed Danny's feelings for her, which made her feel utterly stupid. She had always considered herself an observant individual, but lately she'd found herself making completely wrong assumptions more often than not, and she absolutely despised being wrong.
"Umm. Well. I mean. I like you, I do, and umm I don't know! I didn't know you liked me until yesterday! I mean, I thought you were just being friendly! I never had a guy like me before!" She explained defensively, then noticed him fish her purse out of the pond, which only caused her to freak out even more.
"Omigod, my purse! I'm such an idiot!" She berated herself, jumping up and pouncing on her bag, pulling out her belongings and placing them carefully on the grass. When she came to her cell phone she shook her head ruefully. "Mom and dad will kill me." She sighed.
She dropped back beside Danny, looking defeated, "Ugh, I can't believe I dropped my purse into the water....ughhhhh."
Of course, she still had to actually address Danny's original question. "I dunno, Danny, I guess, I mean, I dunno, I just, umm. I umm, I. Uhh, yes?" She answered hesitantly, hoping that yes actually made sense as an answer to his query.

Danny removed his button-up shirt, leaving on only his tank top and did his best to dry off the cell phone, hoping that it had been protected by the purse. He almost missed the long awaited for answer, but when he realized she said yes, his face lit up completely. "Yes? I never really thought you would say yes. This is amazing."
Danny grasped her hand and pressed his lips to her knuckles fervently. "I will do my best to make you happy, Julia. I will start by doing anything you wish me to this weekend," he promised, though he hoped she would not make him apologize to the little red headed puppet. He was too annoying for words.

"Ummm." Julia leaned away from Danny; she did enjoy his company, but he had an overwhelming personality. "Great. Then we're all gonna play Lord of the Rings Online, and you'd better be nice to Connor and...ummm...Kevin." She couldn't remember what Kian's name was, and while she was fairly sure Kevin wasn't correct it was the best she could come up with at the moment; Danny probably didn't know, anyway.
She prodded her purse disconsolately with her foot. "We should probably go to class now." She said reluctantly. None of her things were remotely dry yet, but there was nothing she could do about that right now. She wished she had magical powers she could use to speed dry her belongings; at the very least a hair dryer would be nice. However, she had neither and class would start soon. She was never tardy, and she had no intentions of beginning a truant streak now, just because she finally had a boyfriend.
Julia knelt down and began shoving still damp items into a soaked purse, wondering where she was going to keep it during class. Her locker didn't seem like a good idea, but she didn't want to carry a dripping bag around with her all day, either. "I told Connor that he and Kevin had to actually play with us, too. It'll be fun. Just bring over your laptop." And then she'd have to hope a laptop could run the game; it would be so much more fun to play with them all in the same room, though!

Danny helped Julia gather her things. "I could get my driver to go get my hairdryer if you want," he offered, seeing her expression as she picked up the still dripping purse. He was used to having his driver pick up things for him because he was fairly disorganized and often forgot things.
"I can bring my laptop, it doesn't get used much anyway," Danny admitted. He had never really been into technology. He would rather spend time reading or playing his flute or swimming or even riding his horse. "You will probably have to help me a lot. I am not good with computers."
Danny thought a moment. "I think it was Kian or Kegan," he said. He was normally very good with names but it had been very stressful at the time. Once everything was gathered he took Julia's hand in his, thinking he could walk her to class if she wanted it. He was going to have fix his registration again so he couldn't go back to class himself yet.
