Shelby tossed her long blonde hair behind her shoulders as she headed down the hall, her sky high purple heels clacking on the floor as she walked, as if she was showing everyone that she had finally arrived. Okay...so maybe she had. First period had already began and Shelby had only just gotten to school, mostly because she'd spent too much time making her hair look perfect and she'd missed out getting a ride with her brother's and had had to settle for her mom dropping her off, scolding her the whole time about how she'd need to get up earlier if she was going to take so long getting ready. It was annoying really. But at been worth it because Shelby's hair looked damn good.
Shelby pressed her glossed lips together, taking her sweet old time as she approached her locker. She wouldn't have to deal with her loser locker partner today...unless he was late too, which she doubted he would be since he was a loser and loser's were never late for school in Shelby's mind.
She opened up her locker slowly and pulled out her books for English. She hadn't done any of her readings so she wasn't exactly concerned with making an entrance in her class by showing up late. In fact if she could some how dawdle long enough to miss altogether that would be better, but she doubted she'd be that lucky. She wasn't that late...not yes at least.
Not unless she found a distraction...and it seemed like she was in luck as she heard footsteps heading her way down the hall. Shelby swung around to see who it was.

After being pepper sprayed a few days earlier, Xavier was beyond pissed but when he heard about the barnyard bonanza, he laughed. He wanted to know who was responsible for the actions and thank them! He had never thought of doing what they had done. He still had a vendetta against Pretty Boy Tyler.
He strutted down the halls, checking out the girls. He flirted as he went by. When one has money, one should flaunt it like its nothing! He stopped to fill one young girl's ears with the things wanted/liked to hear and in a few days, she'd just be another number and another notch on his headboard.
He made his was to his locker where he saw a hot blond chick standing there. He let out a small whistle then grinned.
Fresh meat!
He leaned against his locker, resting one foot on it. He lowered his sunglasses, so his pale blue eyes peering out over the top. "Good morning to you hot stuff." There was a slight growl to his voice. "Do I get the pleasure of getting to know your name or at the very least your number?"

Shelby was a very observant girl. After all, you really had to be if you were the protege of the freshman class...the one most deemed to take over once the older kids graduated. And that was Shelby...the rare freshman that was still considered cool. So keeping her eyes open and watching who was acceptable and who was not was important.
So maybe Xavier didn't recognize her, but she knew who he was from her cheerleading practice the other day. Both Bree and Haley--two of the girls she looked up to--had gotten cross with him and Candy had even gone a step further and sprayed him with pepper spray--something the Shelby had thought was a little excessive, but still, it had happened, so now it became of importance to Shelby. After all, if the popular kids, especially the cheerleaders, didn't like him, she'd have to not like him too. Just like that. It was all it took.
Still, Shelby was sort of inviting of distraction and it wasn't as if the guy was horrible to look at so she supposed she could humor him or a bit, although she'd never give him the time of day under and other circumstances. She tousled her hair a bit as she looked over at him, taking her time to answer his question, slightly annoyed by the crude way he looked at her. No wonder the other girls didn't like him. She pressed her lips together before giving him a look, "That depends, if I tell you it, will I regret it enough to want to pepper spray you later?" she quipped, letting him know right off the bat that while she wasn't opposed to talking to him momentarily, she wasn't going to be easy.

The main focus from the other day was the red head girl and the pretty boy who defended her. Then there was the blond who maced him! That one had really taken the cake. Now though there was no one else around to jump in or spray him with anything.
He chuckled a little as he removed his sunglasses and pocketed him in his shirt pocket. "I see the news spread like wildfire, what happened is what happens when someone comes face to face with the greatness known as Xavier Goodwin." He opened his locker and started to gather his things for the morning classes. "After all I'm not such a bad guy, I just have needs like any other guy." Sure he knew there were better ways of getting some.
The girl knew how to put up a great defensive wall, but every wall had a weakness but what was her's? Xavier studied her for a moment. "Just think for a moment, you wanted to go somewhere, anywhere, Paris, London, The Greek Isles, and someone could make that happen in a snap, would you turn that away because others said to do it?"

Boy was he cocky. Shelby didn't really mind it so much because she could be pretty arrogant herself, but she knew how the other girls had treated him and too Shelby that was the most important thing. After all, she was a freshman...she had to pay her dues. She had to stay in line with the older girls if she wanted to be next. "Actually I was there," she retorted, placing her hand on her hip. "But I guess you were too busy with Bree and Haley to notice, oh well and of course Candy...you can't forget her, now can you," Shelby said with a smirk, pleased with her comeback.
But he seemed to go on. About his needs...gross. Shelby was after all only a freshman. She wasn't experienced in the least and to her embarrassment she was pretty sure everyone knew it. It was one of the stigmas of being a freshman. Everyone knew your lack of experience. Still, even if she wanted to get some...she was pretty sure that Xavier wasn't the right guy.
"So are you saying you're going to take me on a trip or are you comparing yourself to a nice trip?" she asked skeptically. He had hit the nail on the head though. Following everyone else was what drove Shelby...what motivated her. But still, she wasn't about to give into the likes of someone that those people she followed had pepper sprayed. Not a chance.

His eyebrow twitched. Candy must have been the armed girl, she'd be given a visit soon enough. He didn't want to show that he was irritated though by being reminded of what had happened. He just smirked and tried to brush it off.
"Like I said, she was intimidated by the likeness of me and something just caused a reaction in her to behave the way she did." One could hear the flies gathering on the pile of bull crap that Xavier was dishing out. Truth be told, was still batting zero in the losing virginity territory. He checked his teeth at a small mirror he kept in his locker, one couldn't be too vain!
"That, cupcake, is up to you. I'm always happy to make wishes and dreams come true for someone as beautiful as you." He gently closed the door to his locker. "Just something else to remember, I don't make offers like this to just anyone, consider yourself one of the special ones." He gave her a wink and a smile on top of it all.

The whole mentioning the previous day didn't seem to faze him. Jeez...he was confident. Shelby was almost envious of him, aside from the fact that she was clearly more popular than he was seeing she hadn't been pepper sprayed. But she definitely didn't have his confidence. Well, she feigned it but it wasn't real. Shelby was still constantly following the lead of the older girls.
"Intimidated by your likeness, really," Shelby said skeptically. "I'll have to ask her next time we have cheer practice," Shelby said, placing her hand on her hip. She didn't really know Candy well since she went to the other school but everyone on both squads had met one another when they started combining practices. If she had any idea that he was a virgin, he might have seemed less intimidating but by the way he talking it seemed like he'd scored more than a few times. Shelby of course was just a freshman...she'd only turned 15 a few months ago...while she was eager to date and meet lots of boys, she knew she was nowhere near ready for sex.
"Wow...must be my lucky day," she said sarcastically, when he started going over the top with the whole cupcake calling and dreams come true talk. It was a little cheesy, really. "So, if I'm so special, why didn't you even remember me from practice yesterday?" she asked. "You know what, I'm gonna go out on a limb and give you some advice," she said, giving him a look. "You'll get a lot farther if you don't try so hard," she told him. It was actually something that Shelby lived by: a balance between impressing and staying in good with the popular kids, and not trying too hard so she could still be respected by them.
