“Side project sounds cool.” Evan nodded, immediately liking the idea, and not just cause it would give him more time (hopefully) with his hot girlfriend. Any chance to bang around on his drums was one he was going to jump at. “Snake music. What could sound cooler than that?” he queried, thinking it was a very good point. “What, you’d sing? You don’t want me singing? Well, if you insist, but I really reckon I would sound awesome. Alright, I’d just stick to drums and looking sexy. Those I’m mad at. And of course you can’t leave The Rioter’s, you guys have gotta get famous, so I can sponge off you. I need some way to fund my pool of candy after all.”
“No, I’ve never wrote any songs. At least, not like good ones. I may have sung about brushing my teeth or getting candy before. But everyone does that.” he smirked. “I could try it. I mean, I am pretty awesome at stuff, I might be awesome at that.” he laughed. “I’m in for sure though. And you don’t even have to bribe me! I’ll do it cause I love ya.” he grinned, just having to add that in. “Oh, reminds me, me and a couple of friends were gonna muck around and jam tomorrow afternoon, just for a bit of fun. Got a few people coming, if you wanna come to. And be my groupie. Figured you might have band stuff on though, or have something else to do after brunch. And you’re still coming on Sunday right? Bowling and eating at lot? I need someone there to impress.”
He realised just as he was about to say who the jam session was with that it might not be the smartest idea to mention Dare just yet. After all, things were getting real good now, he didn’t want to say anything to stuff it all up again. He hadn’t forgotten, before the ‘kissing’ incident, he did kind of invite Syn to the jam session, and even if she didn’t join them, it was her house so there was a really good chance she would be around anyway. And he wasn’t a genius, but he was pretty sure that Brit and Syn meeting so soon wasn’t a great idea. Especially when Dare would also be present. Hopefully if it came down to a meeting, Brit wouldn’t get angry. Too angry, anyway.
“Tyler flirted with you? A couple of times?” Evan repeated. While for most people, this could might be seen as jealousy or worry, for him it was only amusement. Pure and simple. And that was for one reason and one reason only. He knew that there was no way, no possible way, that his girlfriend would ever be interested in Pretty Boy Durnham. Talk about downgrading after all. It was just as funny as the thought of him dating Aly, or that Bree girl. Just not possible. He wouldn’t do that to himself, and he knew she wouldn’t either. Sure Tyler was really, really good looking, and rich, and charming, and other things he knew girls liked. But he was also boring and sleazy, well, Evan thought so. Money and looks weren’t everything after all, and Brit obviously agreed with him.
“Oh that’s funny. I mean, damn, I wish I saw that. I could have stormed over, pretend to get all angry. Like he’s got a chance with you after all. And it does sound like something Aly would cook up. Cause she’s not as smart as us. Yeah, you so have to go now. And pig out. And sit right between Aly and Tyler! That’s brilliant!” he chuckled. “So what, are they like a couple now? Cause that’s a scary thought. I suppose it makes sense, they can spend all their dates telling each other how pretty they are, instead of just looking into a mirror, like normal.” he rambled on, clearly amused by it all.
He was looking forward to getting his hair dyed, and not just so he could have a legitimate excuse to get her to play with his hair. “Lime green would be awesome! And it’ll make up for a lack of Mohawk!” he teased, moving his fingers through his hair in attempt to make it look Mohawkish. “I still think I’d look awesome with one. But, I’ll make do with the dye for now. And, just to say thankyou, I’ll make you a mad desert to go with dinner. Cause I’m that good. It’ll probably involve candy.”
Evan still didn’t expect Brit to actually jump him, though Jimmy’s timing was pretty spot on. Maybe the dog could read his mind and took off so he wouldn’t have to see. Which was actually a bit unsettling, cause he didn’t want anyone to know what he thought. Especially a dog. Having his girlfriend jump on him in just a loose towel was enough to distract from those thoughts however.
“There I go.” he grinned, before shaking his head at the suggestion that she should jget dressed. “Nah. That’s like a lot of effort. You know what, it’ll be easier for me to get undressed. Yeah...” he paused, as if thinking about it. “And we don’t want to get cold or anything, cause that could get us sick. So we should get in your bed. For warmth. See, good idea.” And because he could, he slipped a hand underneath her towel. That was what boyfriends were for.
