He stood on the boardwalk, frowning at the sinking sun, he had managed to get out of a family dinner on time for once, his mother always insisted on making a big thing out of a family dinner once a week. Normally involving arguments between her and his older brother and sister, who had lives and families of their own. Plans usually as well.
But no one dare argue with that woman no matter how much you didn't want to be there, you took your medicine and lumped it. This was perfectly fine most of the time anyway, but when you really wanted to be anywhere else apart from the house, having a dinner with your family. None of whom really wanted to be there having dinner on that particular night. Or that you spent most of the meal stopping your nephews from throwing food everywhere or at him.
He loved his family, it was the mothering that sometimes got to much for him. Theo kicked his trainers of and placed them back in the car, he didn't need them or want them on at that moment in time, this way he could walk through the surf without getting his shoes wet.
The madness of the day just gone was enough to give him a headache, it wasn't that the people at his new school were horrible. He just had to get used to a new translator, who seemed to think he was okay with super speed signing. He didn't really want to need to use one at all, but until things settled down that really wasn't an option for him.
He may have been from New York and they may have had beaches there, but he prefered the almost complete heat of LA, oh and the girls were seriously hot. How could he say no to girls in Bakini's or guys in trunks, New York had far to many people in suits for his liking.
Even as it was getting late, people were still on the beach, most of them surfers, but still this would have to do, he pulled his t-shirt off over his head tucking it into his shorts. Then straightened his sun glasses.

Catalina had come to the beach after school. She told Colby she would call him later. She was not back living with her Aunt and Uncle since they came back early. And she hated not being with Colby she missed waking up next to him. Soon they would be married and they could wake up next to each other everyday. After finding a good spot on the beach she pulled out her book out of her bag. It was the third book in the Vampire Acadmey series called Shadow kissed.
She read for a bit and she went to close her book and put the book mark in put it in her purse. She looked for cell phone and checked the time. Standing up she stretched and began walking along the short after she picked up her flip flops. She was thinking about her future and everything when she accidently bumped into someone. "Oh I am so sorry" she said in apology really quick. "I guess that should teach me not to day dream and walk" she said with a laugh and a smile. She did not recongize the guy she bumped into, he looked her age so she was sure he went to school with them. Now with both schools combineded it is so hard to recongnize and remember everyone.

Theo was at first a little surprised to have been bumped into, he hadn't heard the girl approaching him, not something he was unused to in his past. It was a little surprising for him now, but still who cared about that, the girl hadn't done any harm to him. Not that it was likely by the looks of her that she could do much harm to him. Maybe his ego had he been injured, did he have an ego, he didn't think he had a big ego.
"No problem... accidents happen." Theo said to her as he pushed his hair out of his face. "Are you okay?" he asked her.
More worried about the girl than himself, somethings never changed, but he always tried to be a gentleman first and jock second. No need to be a pig to a girl after she had accidentally bumped into him while day dreaming. Was that even possible, could you day dream and walk at the same time.
"Well day dreaming is perfectly okay... but while walking around... you may need to... rethink that." he said with a bright smile. "It could prove to be dangerous to your health, if your day dreaming while crossing the road." he told her their was a slight sense of light teasing but his good humour he hoped woule be enough to let her know that he wasn't. The smile was more for the fact that he had gotten a complete sentence out with out stuttering over it.

Catalin laughed at what he said. "I am careful where I daydream. It is hard not to when I am at the beach" she admited. "It is one of my favorite places in the world, it is a very special place to me." Her and Colby has spent so much time here it feels like it is there place. "And I am fine I have been through worse" she said with a shurg. Which was very true, she has been through hell and back and this was a no harm no foul thing. "I am Catalina Corinthos" she held out her hand for him to shake. "You must be new to silver and Gould" she said. It was something to get use to that both schools were now one.
"How long have you been here?" she asked him. Things have gotten so much easier for her, she was ready to go out and make more friends. No longer scared of strange men, there is only one man that scared her now. Well him and his pyscho friends to but she refused to think about them and let them intrude on this moment. "Enjoying living here?" she had asked this with a sweet and friendly smile on her face.

Theo smiled, "Theo Jacobsen but thats a bit... of a mouthful.. so just call me Theo." Theo told her, his smile faded a little as he slipped back into the old habit, it was very annoying to him that his speech could go from good to bad... it was pretty bad by anyone elses standards anyway. The frustration of it all was what really bothered him, it was all he could do to keep the damn thing in place... some hearing was better than no hearing was what he kept telling himself.
"We arrived at the weekend... I come from New York originally, not quite as sunny all year round as LA." Theo said to her. "Though New York had other perks." he added. "I enjoy the beaches... the company from what I have seen so far isn't to bad either." Theo said to her. "My school is pretty good... though we are currently sharing another... school. It makes settling in a little harder than it should be." Theo told her honestly.
Part of him wanted to be back in his home city, with his old friends. This school wasn't specialist, where as where he had come from was. All he really wanted to do was continue dancing, and no cool car was enough to make up for that. Well it made up for it to a degree maybe.
"So what about you? Are you local?" he asked.

"Yeah I am local I have always lived here" Catalina said to him with a smile. "Ah you are both in Gould and Silver same here" she added with a smile. "It is taking all of us getting use to it" she said with a shrug. "I use to go to Gould but because of um situations I wen to Silver after that" she said to him. She did not go into her situation because well she just met the guy and really she did not need to get into her past and she really did not talk about it much anymore.
She looked toward the ocean and back at him. "Both schools have good and bad elements in them." She wondered if she should warn him about Quenten because he was a volient type that liked to pick on the weak. "You should watch out for a guy Quenten Farris and his friens they are trouble. Look the picture up on the online directory and avoid them" she said. "They are the crulest ones I know in the schools." She did not want him to get picked on because Quenten wanted to be a major asshole that day.
"I have not been to New York. I have only lived away from here breifly but my aunt and uncle moved us which I am glad. I missed everyone terriably, I am sure you miss all of your friends terriably" she looked at him and pushed a strand of her dark hair behind her ears the wind had blown in front of her face. She saw the clouds and how they were getting thicker. "I think we are going thave a storm tonight by the looks of the sky. Do you live far from the beach?"
