Roxy had done her job. She'd gotten strange looks from her peers as she'd passed around fliers and told people to meet at Thad's locker after school if interested, but she passed them out none the less. Her last period of the day was actually with her two friends, so they walked out together, heading to their respective lockers before regrouping at Thad's.
Roxy threw the last of her books in her locker and grabbed the ones she needed for homework even though she always put her homework off to the last minute, especially with her new found freedom. Her parents had stayed strong with her grounding and had only lifted it at the start of this week, which made Roxy extra eager to go out and do, well anything.
After throwing the books she needed into her bag, she grabbed what was left of her stack of fliers and shut her locker, turning around to lean against it for a moment. Thad's locker was right across the hall, so she held up her much smaller stack to show him. "I handed these out in like all my classes," she called out to him. "Did you have anymore takers?"
She really wasn't sure what the next step was buts he figured that she was about to find out.

Ezzie had spent most of the day being quiet. She wondered if it was normal for her to be this unhappy. She was usually a happy go lucky kid, but for some reason she was having issues with getting over her sisters death. Perhaps it was because her parents still thought about it. Her whole house was still in mourning. Her mother cried all night and her father just stared at Sierra's picture. It had been over a week and everyone in her house was reliving the event like it was just last week. So Ezzie gave up her strange clothes and her make up gifts since then. Today she was in what most people might deem normal clothes.
Ezzie had on blue jeans, no rips, a plain black t-shirt, no picture, and black tennis shoes. It was all so plain. Nothing flashy or fancy. Her hair was back to being all black. The highlights gone. She just did not feel like herself. Hopefully soon things would change, but who knew. However for now Ezzie's heart was just not into doing anything at the moment except making it through school.
finally the last bell rang and Ezzie was so glad. being at school kind of sucked. usually she rather enjoyed school. Ezzie exchanged books in her locker and shut it. She had actually been avoiding her friends. Which was so unlike her, because usually she was itching to get out of the house to see her friends. But lately she had stuck to the same routine of going home right after school. However, this day she seemed destined to run into her friends.
Seeing as though as she was walking to the exit, she saw them. Thad and Roxy. Standing between her and the door she needed to be free. Could she walk right by them and they not notice? Not likely. So Ezzie took in a deep breath. She could not avoid them forever, and its not like they did anything wrong at all. It was all her this time. Ezzie made her way to Thads locker and smiled. "What are those?" she asked pointing to the flyers.

"Naw," Thad shook his head in disappointment, "Mos' people, they don't seem ta care, think it's jus' a joke, 'bout vamps and lycans." He himself wasn't entirely certain how serious he should take the were threat, but as his sister appeared entirely serious about her war he felt the need to back her up, which included snarling indistinctly at anyone who looked as if they might be thinking about laughing.
He attempted to knock Ezmeralda down by jumping on her as she approached, which was made awkward by crutches he still reluctantly sported, "Ez! Ya made it!" He announced gleefully, "I said I was gon' tell ya, but I didn't rec'nize ya, you're all different an' stuff, I know, I totes suck as a friend, not like vampires an' all." He took a deep breath, "But! We're gon' fight them lycans, make 'em regret ever comin' to California!" He let go of Ez in order to shake one fist at the ceiling, almost convincing himself the three of them were about to face off against a horde of lycan warriors. The likelihood he would have survived that encounter was slim, mere mortal that he was, and a mortal who had tripped all the way down a lighthouse at the hint of a ghost. He'd somehow convinced himself that he was capable of bravery, however, particularly if that bravery would impress Roxy -- or Ezmeralda. And facing a ravaging horde of man-beasts was the sort of thing that impressed girls, and it was also a feat that would support his eldest sister, therefore it was the one action that was most worth doing right now.
"Uh, so, anyone seen Hunter?" Hunter was the only real lycan he knew of, so if they were going to attack, they would have to start with him. Perhaps then the rest of the pack would reveal themselves -- Thad conveniently managed to forget that Hunter was generally a loner and had no loyal pack, no Alpha to submit to, just as Sidra had no coven to hunt with. Hunter was a werewolf, so he had a pack. That was all there was to it. "I guess we gotta get silver or summin' to hold 'im with, make 'im weak or whatev."

Roxy smiled when Ezzie joined them. She hadn't really been around lately. Aside from seeing her in classes, Roxy really hadn't spent time with her friends since the day they went and hung out on the beach instead of going to the memorial. Running over, she jumped in on Thad's hug, wrapping her arms around both of her friends for a giant group hug in the center of the hallway. Sure some people were staring but Roxy kind of didn't care if people had to walk around them.
"Yep, we're fighting werewolves," Roxy said with a definitive nod. "We're trying to enlist any help we can get, but we're kind of finding a hard time finding people to join in. Like I said, I passed out a ton of fliers but not many people seemed too interested. I thought maybe we'd get that one guy from lunch but guess not," Roxy shrugged, since the other boy hadn't shown up. "But you're in, right, Ez?" she asked. She knew that her friend was still in mourning, however, she was hoping that this little project could help her take her mind off of things.
Letting go of her friends, she took a step back, still standing in the center of the hallway. Listening to Thad go on about Hunter, Roxy tilted her head slightly to the side. "Who's Hunter?" she asked. "Are we supposed to know him?" she asked.

Ezzie started a laugh as Thad tried to jump her and then began speaking and raising his hand toward the ceiling. Ezzie really needed a good laugh., She forgot how good it was to have best friends like them. "Thad you are so brave." She said in a liaughing voice. She still had no idea he was actually trying to impress them. She siad it because of how adorable he was acting when he said he would join the fight and stuff. Ezzie had forgotten that him and Roxy never told him the whole lighthouse thing was just for fun. She gave him a small hug, "You can protect me any day, crutches or no crutches." She said.
"Of course I will join in the fight Roxy, why not. I mean if Lycan's are trying to take over then we must stop them." Although Ez had to admit she was kind of an idiot when it came to Vampires vs Lycans. All she had ever seen was the movies Underworld and the sequel. Who knew if thats what it was like or not, but it sounded fun and Ezzie could use some fun. "So explain to me a little more about this?" She asked her friends.
At the mention of a guy named Hunter, Ezzie shrugged, "Beats me, but I guess Thad knows him." She said as leaned against the locker. "How much longer you on crutches for?" She asked Thad. Poor guy. To hobble around on crutches must be annoying, "So I assume Si is leading this crusade, but is Fallon joining in?" Ezzie could not imagine the other Cotton kid involved, but she was curious after all.

"He's that were-wolf dude." Thad explained, surprised that neither Roxy nor Ezmeralda knew Hunter. Didn't everyone know the hirsute, grouchy Junior? But then, Hunter had been Sidra's friend before the two had seperated over the war between their different...species? Was that right? Were vampires and were-wolves their own seperate species? He actually wasn't sure; he'd have to run that by Sidra next time he saw her.
The boy grimaced when Ez inquired about his crutches, "Doctor says it'll take six weeks to heal," He admitted grudgingly, "But if it don't hurt too bad he says I can maybe ditch 'em nex' week. Man, I wish I were a vampire, then I'd be all fast-healin' and whatev. No crutches. Crutches blow."
"Course Fal is in!" Thad nodded confidently, even though he didn't know if Sidra had asked Fallon for help or not. Sidra hadn't asked for his help, either, but he was giving it anyway, without her knowledge. Whether or not she would be pleased when she found out was another matter entirely. "So glad you's in, Ez, we're gon' be the most amazin' fighters ever, we'll be epic, people'll sing our praises, 'bout how we took down the evil lycans." He was thrilled that she had agreed, because he'd hardly seen her since Sierra had been killed. He thought it would be good for her to help fight against the weres, instead of dwelling on her sisters death. He would have been equally devestated had either Sidra or Fallon been amongst the dead, which was why he'd thus far given her room to grieve without pestering her, but he was still glad that she wasn't avoiding him and Roxy forever.

"Yay! So glad you're joining the cause!" Roxy said enthusiastically. She knew that Ezzie still had a long way to go, given everything she'd been through, but Roxy was determined that some nice distraction would be good for her. Being cooped up in her house couldn't have been very good.
Roxy nodded when Thad explained who Hunter was. "Ohhhh right, that guy," she said, although she still had only a vague idea of who he was. Thad would have to point him out for sure. After all, while most 15 year olds would have been pretty embarrassed going up to a guy and accusing him of being a werewolf, Roxy had no problem doing it, as long as it was all in the name of fun. Plus, if this guy was anything like Sidra, he probably really believed he was a werewolf anyway.
"Yeah, true," Roxy put in, "you might have a hard time being on crutches since I'm assuming at some point fighting the wolves will involve running. We might have to carry him," she said, turning to Ezzie, also not realizing that Thad was trying to impress them. "Let me see if we can life you," Roxy said, putting her arms around Thad and trying to pick him up. Thad was by no means a big guy but he was still bigger than her, which sort of posed a problem in the whole thing, but that still didn't stop Roxy from trying to lift him up. "Ez, help me," she said, when she realized she was failing at it.
