"That is quite possible," Riley agreed, "but we don't know a lot of people here yet so I know he'll stick around and see who shows up--it is his birthday and you know how particular he is," Riley pointed out. Jasper always needed everything to be perfect and when it wasn't perfect...he did whatever he had to to make it that way. That was part of the reason he'd struggled so much with being poor...he wasn't used to things being so much out of his control.
"Oh, you know Jazz would disagree with that," Riley said. Jasper had always been known for his exclusive parties. "No fights, although with you two there, who knows what will happen," Riley said with a sigh. Aly was Riley's friend, but everyone knew that when it really came down to it that Riley would take Jasper's side and vice versa. The Hastings were very loyal to one another. Sure, Riley got angry with Jasper sometimes, but it never too long for her to convince herself that he was just looking out for her and that it wasn't his fault.
"Yeah well I'll definitely try it on at least," Riley said, disappearing back into the dressing room. It wasn't red, but it was certainly her style which was most important. "Silver is okay," Riley said. "There are a lot less rules I suppose," she said with a shrug as she came back out in the polka dot dress. "I think I have a winner. And I agree about the silver one," she said, nodding at her friend.

Aly rolled her eyes and smirked, "And what doe that mean....with the two of us...he starts it. Him and his stupid pompous attitude and this need to be right and sound smart. I hate it." Aly changed back into her regular clothes and waited for Riley. "I will agree with you. His parties are kick ass and if I have to be nice to be invited then I can only try. I make no promises once I am inside the door." She laughed.
"A winner, you have a knock out... that dress is great on you." Aly smiled. Who would have thought polka-dots could look that good. If anyone could pull it off it was Riley. Aly put the silver dress and the black one around her arm. "Care to go grab some dinner after. There are some cute diner's around town." Aly was not ready to go home yet.
"Besides i have shoe shopping to do. I am going to try and find a nice white pair to go with the silver dress. Shoe shopping is oddly comforting and such a good stress reliever. Hell shopping in general is fun." Aly smiled and laughed. "I plan to look good tomorrow and I need a partner to look good with so no excuses you are coming with me. its time we introduce Riley to Silver in style and Jas party is just the place. I don't think jas and I will get the chance to fight." Although fighting with Jas was fun, even if she would not admit it. Aly took her things to the counter to pay. She was ready to go shop till she dropped.

"Right," Riley said, shaking her head. Jazz might start it sometimes but she knew both of them enough to know that both of them could be help accountable for starting things. It was so odd to be in the middle of this again. It had been so long....
"Thanks," Riley said, "I think I'll take it." She headed back in to her dressing room and changed back into her normal clothes. She grabbed the polka dotted dress along with the black one she'd tried on earlier. It hadn't been what she'd wanted for the party but she'd liked it a lot, so she figured she'd get both. It had been a long time since she'd gotten knew things so it felt good to be able to shop again.
She paid for both the dresses on her credit card as she listened to Aly suggest more shopping. "I can't," Riley said. She still had to pack up her things in her Compton apartment since they were moving into the hotel in the morning. They'd be staying there until they foreclosed on the new place Jasper had gotten. She didn't want to explain this to Aly or risk Aly offering to drive her home or something. "My mom wants to do dinner for Jazz's birthday, since he's doing the party tomorrow," Riley quickly lied. "But I'll see you tomorrow night. It was fun shopping with you--we'll have to do it another time. But I should really go--I have a car waiting for me," she lied again, not about the shopping with Aly another time, but about the car.
While Aly was still paying, Riley said good bye once more to both Aly and the woman who worked at the store and headed out, walking as quickly as she could to the bus stop before Aly could see where she went.
