"Sandy, Mrs. Bronson will be over shortly with the twins!" Dixie hollered up the stairs to Sandy who was busy trying to find things to fill a two hour gap in the afternoon without relying on television to keep the company.
She found a couple of board games, a few stuffed animals, and if worse came to worse they could look at old photos and laugh at the people in them wearing what ever the fashion was back when it was taken.
She headed down the stairs with her findings in tow. "Ok I think I'm set for a few hours anyway." She sighed. "Who knew it would be so hard to keep kids happy for a couple hours?"
Dixie smiled. "You are doing a great job, those kids love you. I think it helps that your right there playing with them and not on the phone or chatting with friends over the computer. You're helping develop them." She went to the oven. "And if things get rough, I made M&M cookies."
"Mom, I had forgotten about snacks! I'm so glad your here!" She hugged her mother. "I'm going to sit out front and wait for them to arrive." She said as she snitched one of the cookies.
Sandy was relieved to see the comfortable chair was open. She sat down and opened the door to the endtable next to the chair and took out one of her favorite 'Cat Who Mystery' books and started to read, enjoying the cookie as she did.

Nate had decided he needed some excersize. He had a regular route. Nate left before the fighting started with the twins. He did not care to get in the middle. He had chosen to be Switzerland in all this. Nate was friends with both twins. He could see both sides, but choose to stay out of it for that very reason.
Nate had a usual route around Beverly Hills, but today he choose a new route around Hollywood. its not like it was a far drive or anything. He parked his car in a vacant lot and started to run around the neighborhood. Maybe it was not the best idea but what else could he do. He wanted to run and he hated the same old scenery. So Nate choose a new path. He was trying to turn his old ways around, but he saw so many houses right to break into. Peole though it was so hard, but breaking and entering was an easy crime. If you knew how to do it. Being the son of a cop helped. Nate knew all about crime scenes. He knew how to get away with a few things. Although he had been caught before so...
Nate put in ear plugs and turned on the IPod he had and started his run. Of course he was thinking of things and did not pay attention. So he did not see the toy truck in front of him. He got distracted when he saw a cute little red head sitting on the porch of a nice house. Since he was staring at the red head and not watching he slipped on the toy truck and fell to the ground. which hurt like hell.

Sandy was getting to the latest adventure of her favorite feline detectives and took a bite of the cookie when she looked up to see the guy go down hard. She quickly put her book down and ran towards him.
"Oh goodness are you ok?" she asked seeing if there was any blood, and also noting that he was easy on the eyes as well. Sometimes it was a curse being of the female persuasion. One day the right guy would come along.
"Well it looks like your going to live," She smiled. "Why don't come sit on the front porch while you recover." It was the least she could do. "Nusrse Sandy is reporting for duty!" That was when she spied the culprit of the accident. She sighed as she picked it up.
"Usually when I hear of someone either in a car accident or getting run over, something this size doesn't come to mind." She hoped he had a sense of humor and could at least laugh at the lame joke she made.
She'd give up the comfortable chair for the time being, after all no sense in having more discomfort after a fall like he had.

Nate let out a muffled yelp of pain. He could feel his ankle twisted a little. Nothing too serious. He would just need to ice it, rest it and limp for a few days. Wonderful. Nate looked up at the girl as she came running over, "I am fine....I think my pride is more hurt then I am. Nothing can relate to falling on your ass in front of a girl. Please forgive my language." Nate said as he went to slowly stand up. He apologized just in case the girl did not like cursing. Even though in Nate's mind Ass was not much of a curse word.
Nate hobbled over to the girls porch and sat down where she told him to sit. He sat down and stretched out his leg, "Nurse huh...Well i could obviously use one. Know any cures for losing my pride in front of such a lovely young lady." Nate was a flirt and Sandy was pretty so why not. Flirting was fun.
"I am Nate by the way...thanks." He said and held out his hand to the young woman who had saved him. Well not saved him, but helped him anyway. Nate laughed when she made the joke. "Well I always imagined if I got hit by a car it would be much bigger, but I guess I got lucky this time. it was only a minor incident." He said with a smirk. Nate had not seen her around before, but that did not mean she did not go to Silver, "So what school do you go to? I am a Junior over at Silver."

Sandy didn't mind the ass remark since it wasn't directed at her as a compliment. "Don't worry about the language around me, I've pretty much have become jaded to it." She explained.
"Just sit there, I'll be right back." She hurried inside and returned a few moments later with a makeshift ice pack and a small plate of cookies. "Fresh baked cookies may not restore pride but they make me feel better." She set them on the table next to the chair. "And a little something for the ankle. I know the foot injuries can be painful." She carefully removed his shoe and put the ice pack on the injury. "Hope this makes you feel better." He had a ruggedness that made him more desirable, she had to quit romance novels.
"They are making cars smaller these days, you could have been done in by a family of smurfs or something!" She laughed. "I'm Sandy, one of the few freshmen at Silver." She put his info in the back of her mind that he was in Greg's class, maybe she could pull some strings to be closer to Nate.

“Sure, Denny, I'll meet you there. I totally gotta show you what I found when I was raiding last night. Let's just say that Grook found himself a totally sweet new pair of boots!” Levi flipped his phone shut and quit out of Warcraft, tossing both his laptop and a copy of Terry Pratchett's “Guards! Guards!,” Levi's favorite of the Discworld series. He checked himself out in the mirror, messing with his hair quickly. Looking at himself, he decided he needed to put a shirt on to cover the Horde t-shirt he was wearing, and grabbed a plaid short-sleeved button down shirt. Not that he was ashamed of being a dork, but openly wearing a shirt that advertised his geekiness was an invitation to getting picked on.
In moments Levi was in the garage pulling out his moped. Though it looked just like a motorcycle, only smaller, once he had it started it was obvious that the tiny engine belonged to a mere moped. Levi didn't care. He loved Hellcat, as he called her. Hellcat had been one of his favorite comic book characters at the time he had received the vehicle, and it's copper color had reminded him of the character's hair. He took very good care of her, trying his best to keep her well-maintained and clean. He was learning quite a bit about how the moped worked. He wheeled her out of his garage and swung his bag over his shoulder, then put on his riding helmet. It was just a regular motorcycle helmet, though he had been tempted to get a custom Darth Vader helmet.
“C'mon, girl. Let's ride!” Levi often imagined his life as a movie, thus every now and then when he was alone he felt it necessary to spit out a one-liner. Sadly, they often left him a little disappointed. But he was getting better. He rode Hellcat down the drive and turned in the direction of Secret Lair.
As always, he made sure to glance at the Meyers' residences he passed hoping to catch a glimpse of Sandy, but what he saw this time nearly made him crash into a parked car. She was holding a bag of something on some guy's leg! Levi recognized him, Nick, or Nate, or something like that. He was some turdy jock upperclassman at Silver. Levi didn't really know the guy, but a guy like that with Sandy was instantly a turd in Levi's book. He couldn't tell exactly what was going on, but by the time he reached the end of the block Levi had gotten himself pretty worked up. He imagined all sorts of terrible, horrible situations where Sandy fell in love with that turd, became a mean cheerleader, and watched and laughed as the jock stuffed him into a locker.
He had to go around the block once more to get another look!

Nate smiled when she talked about being jaded, "How could a sweet girl like you be jaded?" He wondered. it did not seem possible for the nice girls to be jaded. Especially young ones. He wondered just own old she was briefly. He smiled when she ran inside and came back out with cookies and ice. "You sure know how to make a guy happy. Offer me a cookie and I am one happy man. Like a kid in a Candy shop." He smiled as he took a cookie.
"No the ice feels good. Just what I need. it will be fine. Its not too badly hurt. I can walk on it which is good. So it just needs to rest." Nate smiled at her as she placed it on his ankle and took off his shoe. Which he could have done himself, but who was he to object to a lovely young lady helping him. "Done in by a smurfs huh....would have made a funnier story. I just might have to tell people that when they ask what happened. You will have to back me up. I will say papa smurf and his family cam out of no where. They attacked me...honest." Nate said laughing.
Nate did not even notice some guy pass the house. he was too focused. Then he heard Sandy was her name and she was a freshman. Okay so she was a tad young for him, but flirting would not hurt....right. "Thanks Nurse Sandy. I think thats my nickname for you...Nurse. It fits you." Nate said with a wink. "Nice to know yo go to my school. I will have to say hi in the halls now."

"Thanks to my brother I was around a lot of television personalities, you wouldn't believe the things they'd say without thinking of anyone being underage around. After awhile you just got used to it." She laughed. "When I was very young I had thought about saying I wanted a dollar for every word that slipped, I'd probably have a small fortune today!" A tender look was on her face. "Its not a medical fact but cookies can fix anything, especially injuries."
She looked over his ankle, it didn't look bad. "I thought as much, its almost like a dancing injury, more common than people think, at least I've been told." She knelt down beside him. "Would that be considered a drive by smurfing? Or you could make it sound really dramatic, the blue mafia got you."
"There's two of us at Silver, my brother Greg is a junior there, I just followed in his footsteps, we just don't hang out with each other." She liked her nickname Nate gave her. "Be careful saying hi to me, it might get followed by a bunch of giggles." She was referring to her friends.
She heard the moped engine and looked over and saw Levi driving by, she gave him a friendly wave. She had no idea about his true feeling for her, she saw him as a friend.

"I have to agree cookies do fix anything. You should market that as a cure. I would make sure and get a prescription. Besides i think Nurses know more then doctors do. Its true when they say all someone needs is some TLC to be happy when they are in pain." Nate said as he munched on his cookie, "I know you will be very popular if you were to succeed." he smiled. She really was a sweet girl. Which of course made Nate feel a little better. Sure he could be a bad guy, but...he would not hurt Nurse Sandy. Not when she seemed so sweet.
"Oh come on...drive by smurfing is so much funnier. But I like how you think." He nodded, "Blue Mafia. Sounds so...exciting. I could just imagine the people who would like to hear that story." He said to her. "A small fortune huh. Do that at school and I guarantee you will double that fortune." He suggested with a small smile.
"I promise not to hold giggling against you. I will make sure and be nice about it." He winked, "Besides I bet I will make you popular with the people in your class. My being an older man and all." He said to her. "You know that guy?" He asked as he watched the moped guy drive by.
