Appearance: Ryu is something of a lightweight, as befits his race. He's 5' 9" tall and weighs in at 125 pounds - when wet. His hair is virtually black - when he hasn't dyed it some off the wall colour - with eyes of a similarly dark hue. Ryu has a tattoo across his upper back - a pair of angel's wings - much to the dismay of his parents and the amusement of his younger brother.
Ryu has no scars or birthmarks but tends to dress in a Goth manner. He wears a silver crucifix on a long and chunky chain. Smokes - when he can get away with it.
Personality: Ryu hates most things in life. A rebel most definitely
without a cause. His well-off family had no choice but to leave Tokyo after his arrest for GTA and for taking his 'acquisition' for a joy-ride. His father's money saved him from time in juvenile detention - not that Ryu gives much of a damn.
He might act like he doesn't care for those around him but woe betide anyone who crosses his baby brother - the same brother Ryu would kick seven shades of hell out of at any given opportunity. He hates having to come to the US - and hates anything even remotely associated to school. More often in detention than class, he is sure to stir up all kinds of trouble in Los Angeles.

Job: Given his background it's unlikely he would be offered a job.
Transportation: Considering his record back in Japan its highly unlikely Ryu would get a license to drive - not that it would stop him from trying.
Family background: Lives with his father (Takao), mother (Mayuna) and younger brother (Hayato).
Despite being wealthy his parents were unable to prevent their first born from following a life not all that appealing - at least to them. First he dabbled in the occult and then went on to crime. In between those two 'hobbies' that Ryu picked up a back tattoo that earned himself a grounding that lasted for as long as he can remember. Still, in his eyes it was well worth it. Hayato - his 12 year old brother - is the bane of Ryu's life but he would die before he let anything happen to the brat - not that he'd let anyone else
know that!
Ryu was born in a well to do part of Tokyo where he grew up to rebel at an early age. School life was hard and - as such - that led to a life of crime... and one that saw him arrested for stealing a car and taking it for what was a pretty fantastic joy-ride. Well worth the fall-out in his eyes... if not for his parents whose finances bailed him out of any ensuing sentence. Much to his frustration, the Kobayashi family up-rooted from their native Japan to start a new live in the US and Ryu now has to face the
prospect of starting over in California.
They don't yet know what's hit them.

After school Activities: Wouldn't be seen dead doing anything like this.
Out of school activities: Music, playing the guitar, taking part in street races (of the illegal kind). Ryu will probably be found hanging out around the back streets of town, always ready for an opportunity to fuel his need for adrenalin... and it doesn't necessarily need to be legal.
Likes: Fast cars and even faster girls. The colour black and anything that goes against society. He also likes music - a lot. Japanese rock, of course. He loves sushi. Ryu likes to watch anime and read manga.
Dislikes: Ryu despises most things: School, society, family life, rules, laws... hell, anything really. He hates having to conform and never will - at whatever the personal cost.
