Patrick Kimball was in high spirits as he strutted down the hall, humming along to some Cash Cash and not particularly paying attention to where he was going. Yesterday's prank had been nothing short of brilliant, particularly as they had (miraculously) managed to recover every last barnyard animal without getting caught. The cheerleaders were having kittens over the whole affair, and as that had been the point from the beginning he felt pleased rather than guilty at ruining their practice. He was beginning to believe that he and his posse were not only brilliant masterminds, but also invincible. The most trouble they'd caught so far was with Jessica Pruitte, and she seemed to have forgotten that he and Evan existed. If he'd really stopped to think about that, it should have worried him -- few people would have forgiven so easily for a house burned and a video placed on youtube, even after nearly killing them in the cafeteria. But she had left the two of them alone, which in his mind meant their letter and gift of cat collar must have mollified her after all.
His self-satisfied smile was momentarily replaced by a small frown when he reached the doors leading to the great (and somewhat muddy) outdoors and found them blocked by another person. "Dude, I need to get through." He shoved his hands into his hoodie, waiting for the other boy to move. He recognized Jasper, the stuck up prat whose swank birthday party he and his friends had ruined, but as far as Patch knew Jasper was completely ignorant of the fact that he had anything to do with that. He didn't think the other boy had noticed that he was the one who had hijacked the DJ in order to play Country Western; his opinions of other people's perceptiveness was rather low sometimes.

Jasper was indeed late for school today. After Aly had left and headed to school he'd stayed behind and had made some calls. It had taken longer than he would have wanted to finalize it all since he had to call people in New York and work through different connections to find someone willing in LA, but in the end he'd found a company that had no problem not only being discreet but falsifying the names on the papers. Of course that would cost extra but that was no skin off Jasper's back. It would all go down on Monday night. Now he just needed to text Aly and let her know.
Jasper had considered skipping school altogether, but then he remembered that he'd promised Riley that he'd meet her for lunch. So upon heading to school he'd made it just in time for the start of the lunch period. He was just about to head into the building when he came face to face with a rather disheveled looking boy who seemed to really want to get by. Now, while the boy looked vaguely familiar, and Jasper now knew the name Patch Kimball, he didn't know enough to put the name to the face. So, it was not the fact that Patch had helped ruin his party that set Jasper off, but rather his attitude and hastiness to push by him. No one pushed passed Jasper if he was nothing.
Jasper simply returned this boy's request with his standard glare, pursing his lips for a moment but saying in a slow but intimidating voice, "Excuse me?" Okay, maybe this boy's offenses weren' t too bad yet...well Jasper at least didn't realize they were...but Jasper took pleasure in ripping people new ones for seemingly no reason. He felt as if it reminded people just who he was and why they shouldn't mess with him.

Patch turned his mp3 player off and doffed his headphones, frowning at the other boy. "I said I need to get by." He repeated, missing the narrowed eyes and the dangerous tones that meant Jasper was in a foul mood. He wondered if perhaps Jasper was hard of hearing; he wouldn't be the first. There was that one deaf girl, the one with the cupcakes, though perhaps deaf and hard of hearing weren't exactly in the same category. "C'mon, man, you wanna be in, I wanna be out. Trade and call it even." It seemed a reasonable enough request, as far as he was concerned; he probably could have used more tact with wording, but tact was definitely not his strong point.
He scratched the back of his leg with one foot, watching Jasper expectantly. Surely the other guy would realize that it was nothing more than simple logic that he ought to move. There was no reason for him to be blocking up the entry way, after all, unless he was being mean, and the only time being mean was acceptable was when it was funny, or possibly when it involved something awesome, which usually meant explosions; standing in front of the door was not funny, nor did it involve explosions, so it was not acceptable.

Jasper watched as the boy pulled out his headphones and made his requests again. Jasper was unfazed. He took a deep breath and just continued to stare Patch down. "Yes, I do hear you, but why should I get out of your way?" Jasper asked, his voice very calm. He didn't even know that this boy was Patch and he was already getting on his nerves. Jasper didn't move for people...people moved for him. The only exception was when it came to girls of course, because Jasper was a gentlemen. But this guy wasn't worthy of his time and Jasper was not going to get out of his way.
Jasper continued to stand there, waiting for the boy to move for him. Jasper just assumed he'd get it. He should have to tell him. He was Jasper Hastings, did no one in LA know that? It honestly did come as a surprise to Jasper that his fame (meaning being a very wealthy kid) did not extend across the country. In New York people had known him. He didn't even have to say his name most places. He missed that. But of course he couldn't go back to New York. There was too much drama there. And while Jasper had no problem standing up to it now that he had his trust fund, he knew that Riley did have a problem going back and Jasper would not leave his sister.

Patch drew his brows down into a grimace when the other boy began asking why he should move. "You're standin' in front of the door." He pointed out, in case this wasn't obvious. He knew very well who Jasper Hastings was, considering that he'd crashed (and ruined) the other's party, but he saw no reason to kowtow to anyone just because they happened to be wealthier than he. He was perfectly content -- no, he was proud! -- of being part of the rabble. Jasper may have thought his money endowed him with special privileges, but he would have earned far more respect from Patrick Kimball had he been sporting, say, some Animal Collective swag.
"Is movin' real hard for you?" He wondered, narrowing his eyes at Jasper. "Afraid you'll break into a sweat if you go to fast? I know you don't got much practice doin' anything but posin' and lookin' pretty, but you're blockin' the door."
He didn't understand why the Silver student seemed to be having such a difficult time understanding why he shouldn't block the door; even Patch had enough social awareness not to just stand around in front of doors, and considering that he took to lounging about with his feet in everyone's way that was saying something.

Jasper continued to look at the boy rather blankly. Really, he was highly amused. Sure Jasper could have easily moved but sometimes it was just fun to give the less fortunate a hard time. It made him feel better about himself and that was something that was pretty important to him especially given that his father had been arrested and they'd lost their money and he was supporting he and his sister on his trust fund. His mother had finally been taken in by her wealthy family leaving him and Riley alone in LA while she was in San Trope with her sister.
He smirked when Patch pointed out once more that Jasper was blocking the door. "So are you," Jasper said calmly. Sure, Jasper was just giving the guy a hard time but what he was saying was true. He was also blocking the door. Jasper stayed there standing stock still, not bothered at all by the other guy.
The guy went on, starting to get annoyed. He called Jasper pretty and Jasper had to smirk. "Oh, I get it," Jasper said. "You have a crush on me. It's okay, I understand. I'm not really into guys though," he said, still smirking. Had he known that Patch was in fact Patch, he probably would have gone either harder on him.
Still relaxed, Jasper stuck his hands in his back pockets and stood on his toes for a moment before relaxing back on out feet. He pursed his lips together, still staring the boy down. "Any time you're ready," he said calmly waiting for him to move. It was going to take more than just asking for Jasper to move.

"I'm not blockin' it, I'm tryin' to go out and you're in my way." Patch explained testily; he'd suspected that Jasper had an ego based on the party he'd thrown, but he was still having a difficult time believing this guy was for real.
He grimaced at the idea that he might have a crush on Jasper. Why did people enjoy claiming he had crushes on, well, anyone at all? A crush on Jasper was just as out of the question as his supposed crush on Mallory, or (he shuddered) Jessica. Actually, out of the three, Mallory was the most tolerable; she may have been the pop princcess (in his mind. Until she started listening to Sambassadeur or Brighter he was going to insist that her music was pop) but at least she wasn't some stuck up rich prat and she'd never tried to kill him.
"Would you just move already?" He had to work not to snarl. He wasn't about to step aside for some stupid rich pretty boy, when clearly Jasper was the one who should have moved on out of the way. After all, he was already through the door; it wasn't that difficult to just go wherever it was that rich pretty boys went during lunch.

The guy was getting really worked up and Jasper was finding it more and more amusing. It was just fun messing with people. It was something he enjoyed. Mostly because it fed his ego even more. Saying that Jasper had a large ego was a bit of an understatement. Mostly because it was actually quite massive. This guy did have guts though, Jasper had to admit. He was standing his ground, which few would do--especially while dealing with him. Sure people here were still learning who he was, but since his party, his presence had been pretty well known. People were noticing him more, saying hello to him in the halls. And for the most part, aside from the crashers of course, the turn out had been well and filled with respectable people. It seemed that they did have that sort of thing in LA. Something that still shocked Jasper a bit as he thought that New York was a city of much more class. As for the crush, of course Jasper didn't believe it was true. It was all part of his game...all part of his plan to intimidate this poorly dressed disheveled boy. Jasper had to smirk just watching his reactions. However, just as he was about to relay yet another witty remark to Patch, his cell started to go off. He looked at it to see it was the company he was hiring for the prank. He gave Patch a look. "You lucked out. I have to take this," he said, stepping aside as he answered his phone and walked off. After all, if it had been any other call he would have stood there and carried out his conversation as a way to mock the boy further but this call needed to be taken in private. Wrapped
