Russell squirmed closer to Lucas, ignoring the insistant growls coming from his stomach. He could either spend lunch eating or with Lucas, but not both, and he knew which he preferred. "Guess what!" He whispered excitedly, glancing at the door and then back to Luc. He half-expected someone to walk in on them; half-wanted it. If people found out, then Lucas couldn't push him away in public. He'd promised not to tell, which included biting his lip and taking it when his boyfriend humiliated him in the hallways, but that didn't mean he had to like it.
"I'm in the school play!" He wrapped one arm around Lucas' shoulders. "Apparently they still needed chorus. You should come. If you want, I mean. Trixie and Haley are in it, too, you can pretend to come to see them." He wished that Lucas would admit to showing up just for him, but he knew how unlikely that was. Not in public, anyway; never in public. He hated all the lies, but Lucas was so attractive that he could never quite bring himself to put his foot down about it. He wasn't sure how he'd ended up so...lucky. If that was the right word. It was odd, how one ridiculous come on while high could lead to four months of passion. Passion and secrecy. When they were apart, the secrecy bugged him, but when they met again it seemed exciting and sexy.
He sighed in contentment; right now the secrecy was sexy. "It's gonna be so fun." He scooted yet closer, so that he was almost on top of the other boy. "So much fun."

Lucas closed his eyes for a brief moment as he felt the movement next to him. A body got closer to his, all the right reactions wen through his body. This was so worth skipping lunch. Lucas had a snack in his bag, he would just eat in class, assuming he went back to class after this little tryst. He might just go home just for the hell of it. Lucas opened his eyes and smiled at the boy laying next to him. Picture perfect. This moment was fine.
Although Lucas was gay and he knew it too, he could not come out to his family. If he came out at school Lucas knew his little bro would have no problem running off to tell daddy dearest and Lucas could not afford that. So as much as it pained him, he had to act like he did to Russ in the halls. He had to belittle and humiliates him, and then make it up to him in private.
"The play huh, which one Gould or Silver's play. I hear there were auditions for both." One Russ mentioned Haley and Trixie he nodded his head, "South pacific....yeah I heard about that. I just might have to stop by rehearsal. Give you a few secret looks. Just do not get too distracted." Lucas said with a laugh. He really was lucky. Russ could break his heart at anytime by dumping him. Lucas could not blame the boy, he was awful to him, but that did not mean he wanted to be dumped. He cared deeply for Russ, even if he did not show it in public. Which Lucas was aware was wrong, but he just could not risk it.
Lucas placed a small kiss on Russ's lips as Russ was practically on top of him. "I wouldn't miss it for the world. I will defiantly be there opening night and make no plans for afterward so I can properly let you know what a fantasic job you are going to do." Lucas said with a wink.

"Sure, but I dunno if it'll be that exciting, watchin' us rehearse." Russ opined doubtfully. It wasn't that he didn't appreciate the sentiment; he did. In fact, he very much liked the idea of having his boyfriend show up in support. But that was just it; should Lucas acknowledge him when he came, it would only be to mock him, and that was most certainly not how he envisioned Lucas' support. True, they would make up for the public humiliation later, but he still preferred to avoid unneccessary run-ins with Luc anywhere that someone might see.
He closed his eyes, returning Lucas' kiss with interest before grinning. "Yeah? A private encore, huh? I think I can go for that." He agreed, delighted that Lucas was agreeing to attend his performance. He hated to admit even to himself that he'd been half-afraid the other boy would decline, afraid that even attending a musical would besmirch his manliness. Some of the other thespians were on the football team, but some of the other football players wouldn't give half a flying rat's ass that Lucas preferred men. Maybe some of them would, but not all of them. Probably not even most of them; at least as far as Russ had experience, everyone at Silver was pretty open about that sort of thing. One of the leads in South Pacific was openly gay and dating some guy on the swim team, the same guy who'd gone to the school dance with another guy previously. And there was that rocker chick and her girlfriend. In fact, if he'd really wanted a boyfriend who didn't care if anyone knew they were a couple, he was not lacking in choices, at least in theory. He figured that Gould must be the same.
"Speakin' of private performances," He whispered into Lucas' ears, "You wrote any more poetry? You still owe me a recital."

Although Lucas did not have a real excuse to be at the rehearsal. he would have to rag on the dorky guys and make sure and flirt with the females. Of course Lucas would like nothing more then to sit there and clap and cheer for his boyfriend, but he just could not do it. There were too many risks involved. Lucas knew he needed a backbone, but if you ever met his father you would see why. The man was scary. "Are you kidding rehearsal is the best part. Thats when all the bloopers happen." He said with a laugh.
Lucas gave Russ a smile when he talked about the encore. He loved to make Russ smile. Of course Lucas already had his excuse for why he would be caught at a musical. His excuse was cute women in nursing outfits. Who would not want to see that, even if it meant sitting through a boring performance. The excuse was ready to be used at a moments notice. It was believable too, for anyone who knew Lucas. "An encore huh? I might have to write some more poetry for the occasion. Just for you, to show you how wonderful you are."
It was true. Russ really was wonderful. He put up with so much shit from Lucas. Lucas knew how to make him feel special, but it was only in private. Even if Lucas would be accepted by the school, his father would never accept him and Lucas did not want to be thrown out. "Actually, yes I have." Lucas leaned over. His chest fully exposed and reached into his bag to pull out his note book. He handed it to Russ, "I am always inspired by you." Some of his poems could be dark. They were about being trapped and not being yourself, but after he met with Russ Lucas had this way of writing something he liked to think was beautiful. It was about love and happiness, and knowing you have found yourself with the help of a special person. That person being Russ.
Lucas let Russ read the words as he recited them looking deeply into Russ's face. Once Lucas was finished he smiled. "Well?"

No matter how annoyed Russell got at having to hide, one minute alone with Lucas and suddenly he'd forgiven everything and all the insecurities that began bubbling to the surface during long days of Lucas' snubbing him in public were washed away. No matter how many skirts the other boy chased, he was only interested in one person. "Hmm. You're more wonderful."
"You should submit to the lit mag," He suggested once he'd finished reading the poem Lucas had written. It warmed his heart -- and his face -- knowing that Lucas had written that poem specifically for him, and he wanted to share it with the whole world. He wished he could tell his friends, at least, but the fewer people who knew a secret the fewer people could let it slip. Not to mention Russ was fairly certain none of his friends would approve of Lucas or their strange relationship. "I dunno how it is at Gould, but at Silver all the lit mag contributions are anonymous."
He dropped his chin onto Lucas' shoulder with a yawn. "Don't wanna go back to class." This was much more to his liking, lolling about with Lucas and acknowledging that they were a couple. There was nobody to say anything, nobody to raise their eyes at two boys draped around one another. Or locking lips. Or trying to rip one another's clothes off. It was a really, really good thing nobody was around for that, considering the school board's opinion on PDA -- although Russ thought he'd shown very good restraint by not jumping Lucas right there. After all, not only was he now sitting on top of his very hot boyfriend, but said hot boyfriend had just finished reciting poetry written just for him. If there was anything that made him want to make out with Lucas any more than he already did, that would be it. But they still had one more class to attend, so as much as he wanted to just stay there he contented himself with enjoying Lucas' company.

"I never thought of submitting my work. I only ever think to share it with you." However, the idea was good, but no one could know it was him. It was bad enough he was gay, but to write poetry. Lucas could hear the name calling now. He was the top dawg and top dawgs did not do gay likes things such as write poetry. However, the fact Russ though it was good enough for the lit mag at Gould or Silver was enough to give Lucas a little encouragement. Russ had that affect on him. "I just might have to look into that. Then you could have a copy just for you." Lucas winked. After all the poem was about him.
"Man I do too. But if we skip our parent swill be called. Although there are too many kids at the school, but not that I am complaining. I do get a glimpse of you every day." even if it resulted in Lucas having to torment Russ. First Russ was a scrawny kid, not normally someone Lucas hung out with. So by definition Russ should not be Lucas's type, but thats the reason Lucas liked Russ. He was different from the other guys Lucas hung out with and he liked that.
Lucas wrapped his arms around his secret boyfriend and kissed him once more. "We always have tomorrow, and the next day. All we have to do is text to meet here in out private place." Lucas told Russ. "One text and I will always be here." He told the boy and he meant every word. Of course Lucas deleted the text after he got it, but he always showed up.

"Ugh, stupid parents." Russell yawned again. He actually got on with his own parents fairly well, but he knew neither of them would approve of skipping, even if it was only for one period. "Yeah, true." Tomorrow. Tomorrow was Friday, which meant a whole weekend that he could potentially use to sneak off with Lucas. His family and friends had to be getting suspicious, but if anyone suspected anything they'd kept it to themselves so far. For all his faults, Lucas had never stood him up.
He closed his eyes in contentment. "Mm. Hey, I heard something about some bowling thing over the weekend, you gonna go?" Not that it would be all that romantic, considering that if Lucas did show up he would use the opportunity to prove how much he and Russell weren't supposed to get along, but he was smitten enough that any excuse at all to bask in Lucas' presence was a good excuse. He wondered what people would think if they ever came out as a couple; he generally couldn't stand football players, and Lucas made such a point of harrassing him, he figured people would be shocked. Even if one of them had been a girl, they were in such different social strata that dating would raise eyebrows.

Parents were a joke. Especially his dad. He was so ignorant and narrow minded. However wasn't Lucas acting the same way. Key word acting. He was hiding in the closet until...well to be honest Lucas was not sure when he would come out. He knew he could not hide forever. However, the idea sounded nice. Lucas would not mind turning his closet into a nice home, but that was not fair to Russ. A guy Lucas was so scared he would lose one day, but he was also not ready to stand up to his father yet. That day may never come. His father was the guy who would get pissed at a gay person for looking at him the wrong way. It was horrible. However there was good news for once, "Speaking of parents. Mine are going out of town tomorrow, and my siblings are making them self scares. Each sleeping over at someone's house, so I have my house to myself if you want to pay it a visit." Lucas gave Russ a wink.
It was dangerous to have Russ come over, but Lucas had known about this fro two weeks. He purposefully convinced his siblings, including Stiles to spend Saturday night away from the house. Stiles took a lot of convincing, but Lucas did it. He got his sisters and his brother out of the house and his parents would be gone. Lucas had checked and double checked. He was a tad paranoid about someone coming home and finding him and Russ, but this time he was sure he would not be caught.
"Bowling huh...I did not give it much through cause I was planning the weekend, but if you will be there. Maybe I will make an appearance." He would have to come up with a cover story and give Russ a hard time as well, but he could show up. Maybe. Russ did ask, and he had an adorable face when he asked and Lucas could not say no to Russ's adorable face. It was the thing that always got to Lucas.

Russ perked up at the mention that Lucas' parents would be out of town. He'd never been to the Grant home before, and while he understood why it was a bad idea for him to meet Lucas' family, he still was curious about what sort of place they lived in. He wanted to know everything about Lucas, and he felt as if he missed out by not getting to see him in his home setting.
"Yes!" He responded enthusiastically, grinning madly. He didn't care that there was a chance of getting caught; visiting Lucas' home was so worth the risk. "When're they gonna be back?" He demanded, trying to feel out whether there was any chance of spending the night. He would have to see if he could get anyone to cover for him, of course, since his family weren't supposed to know he even had a boyfriend, though he didn't think they'd exactly approve of him spending the night with any guy he was interested in had they known. He wondered if maybe Liz would agree; he'd have to see if he could convince her to lie to his parents about his whereabouts without giving away too much. He felt a twinge of guilt that he was considering lying to her, and to his family, but he didn't have much of a choice.
He had a difficult time returning to the topic of bowling once his mind was caught up in all the fun he could have without parental supervision. "Mmm. You don't hafta go if you don't wanna, I just thought maybe...it could be fun. I think I'm gonna go, but yeah, we don't have to do everything together." He teased, sticking his tongue out at the other boy.

Lucas smirked at Russ's enthusiasm. It made Lucas feel good. To Lucas seeing Russ happy made it all worth it. He could forgive himself for making Russ's life hell in front of other people. He just had to do it. Lucas really felt he had no choice, even if he really did, but would not admit it. Besides a secret relationship was hot. Lucas enjoyed hot. "My parents are leaving early tomorrow morning, and wont be back until Tuesday night. My siblings are each gone until Sunday night. So Saturday night and Sunday morning is all ours."
Lucas kissed Russ on the forehead. This kid really did bring out the good in Lucas. Without him Lucas was a bigot, terrorizing what he was. What he was afraid of being. However, with Russ he accepted who he was. He was gay. A little bisexual because he could sleep with women, but he liked men more. He liked Russ more then he was willing to admit. Which is the only reason Lucas felt so bad when he messed with Russ, but it had to be done.
"I will text you directions when the coast is clear and then I can finally have you in my own room, in my own bed." Lucas said softly as he kissed Russ gently. He wished he could spend all his days like this. Kissing his boyfriend in the halls and in public, but it was not going to happen. So they had to settle for the small moments. The little moments they could steal. Lucas was getting good at sneaking around though. "We can spend the night inside, just us." It was not like they would ever go out on a real date. It had to be an inside all day thing.
