Eden took a deep breath as she shut her locker. She'd texted Jett that morning about wanting to talk to him and he suggested that she meet him at his car during lunch. She wasn't sure if he was planning on leaving school or not, but either way, meeting in his car was private enough. The last thing she wanted was to be caught with him...especially by either Ben or Izzy.
She'd dressed nicer again today, in tank top, denim skirt, and a leather jacket. She'd even smeared her strawberry lip gloss on her lips as she headed to the meeting. Yes, she was angry at Jett but that didn't mean she didn't want to look...and smell good.
She walked out into the parking lot and had no problem locating his car since she knew where he and Izzy usually parked. Jett wasn't there yet so she leaned again the car, folding her arms under her chest and leaning on the tips of the heels she wore. Once Jett came into view, she pursed her lips, giving him a look. "Good, you actually showed," she said her tone annoyed, "are we going somewhere or just talking in your car?" she asked as she started to walk around to the passenger's side.

Jett was not jealous, or so he said. He was just not use to Eden being this way. He did not understand why she was changing like this. It was different and as much as Jett enjoyed the view, it was annoying as hell to see Eden changing. Although that was the point of Jett picking on Eden. He had tried to get her out of her shell, but now he wanted to put her back in. Jett replied to the text after thinking about it. He decided he would take Eden back to his house. Then maybe they could talk and no one would see them. It was hard enough keeping this from Izzy. Jett actually felt a little guilty hiding this secret.
Jett ran to his locker and closed it quickly before he headed to the parking lot. He saw her leaning against his car. Damn she looked real good. Jett could not help but take the view in. He really liked what he saw. "Hello to you too. Nice to see you did not miss a step with the 'tude." Jett said as he opened the driver side door, "Get in. I am taking us to my house." Jett informed Eden as he started the car. Jett waited for Eden to get in the car before pulling out to leave. He drove them to his place. The silence was killer. You could feel the tension.
Jett parked in the drive way as always. It was hard holding your tongue until they got inside, "What's with the 'tude? What did I do?" Jett said with a smirk. He walked into the living room and put his book bag down. "So what exactly do we need to talk about?" Jett had to admit he found this amusing. He just smiled at her as he waited for her to explain.

Eden decided to ignore Jett's comment on her attitude and simply got into his car. He started driving and told her that he was taking her to his house. "Fine," she said shortly. She didn't say anything else because she was waiting for him to apologize but not such like. The silence and tension during the car ride was thick and it made Eden feel uncomfortable. Luckily the ride wasn't too long. When they got to his house and he had parked she got out of the car and followed him into the house. His first comment was about her attitude again. So annoying.
"You can't be serious. What did you do? You know what you did," she said shaking her head. "You totally tried to ruin thing with me and Cole...not cool," she said. "I mean we screwed up and slept together...we established back...I know we like agreed we'd...keep doing it or whatever...but if you're allowed to go meet girls at the beach...why would you try and ruin things for me?" she asked, placing her hand on her hip. "I mean you know me, you of all people know me. I don't exactly have a ton of guys into me. And Cole was really nice to me. If we're not being exclusive in whatever we are...then...what's your issue?" she asked, looking at him with wide eyes. She'd just said a mouthful and she wasn't sure if any of it even made sense but she sort of felt like she had to say something. She couldn't let Jett trying to make a fool out of her every time a guy spoke to her.

Jett laughed. He actually laughed as Eden talked about him ruining things for her. even if it was partly true, he could not let Eden know that, "Are you jealous of me meeting girls at the beach?" Jett asked her back. He smiled the whole time she spoke. He knew it had to drive her crazy that he could just sit there smiling at her, as she went off on some tangent. "We did agree...not exclusive...so why would you think i was trying to ruin your good time?" Jett challenged her.
"I go to Gould. I know the same guys you know. could it be I was simply admiring what Cole had done with you and simply wanted to offer my comments on the subject. It could have been any girl over his shoulder and I still would have done what I did." Ouch, that had to hurt and Jett felt bad for it. Yet, she was getting angry over nothing. Okay so maybe she had every right to be angry, there was no way in hell he would have done that had it been any other girl.
"Look I am just worried about you...ever since we hooked up you have been different." Jett told her, "And its weird. I am not use to this Eden. Where is the other girl?" He asked her wondering what happened to the one who lived inside a cocoon. "You have no idea what guys really want and I guarantee you as much as Cole liked your personality, he was probably after your ass with the way you looked."

"No, I'm not jealous of you," Eden lied. "You can hook up with anyone you want, always have and always will," she said, her tone was still annoyed. She widened her eyes as she gave him a look. She crossed her arms under her chest again and let out a sigh. "You totally were trying to ruin with things...all those comments...trying to invite yourself along, or talk us into joining you, rather. Seriously, why would we want to do that," she snapped. The fact that he kept smiling the whole way through it annoyed her even more.
When he went on saying he was just complimenting Cole's moves, Eden was a little hurt. She stared him down for a moment, trying to read his expression, which was still amused at best. "Well...I guess I was mistaken then," she said shortly. "Guess there's nothing to talk about. Shall we just go back to school then," she said, glaring at him. She didn't know what it was about Jett but some how he got under her skin more so than anyone else. She pressed her glossed lips together as she listened to him go on about how she looked different.
"So what?" she asked, when he said that Cole was just after the way she looked. "Maybe I don't care. I really don't see what the big deal is. Are you telling me that every girl you go after is solely based on her personality?" she asked giving him a look. "How is what I'm doing any different than what you do every single day?" she pointed out. There, take that, Jett, she thought to herself. "Plus, we're not exclusive so why should you even care what other guys I go out with and why they want to go out with me?" she asked.

Jett took a step forward. "It's called being friendly. You should try it. Maybe I did want to hang with you and Cole. You both look like you were going to have fun." Jett said with a smile. "I know how you like your fun, but I was curious what Cole considered fun. After all i could always use more guy friends. Not my fault Cole was hanging with you at the time." Jett had to keep his composure. Sure what she said got to him, but he could not falter in front of Eden of all people.
True what else did they have to talk about. Jett was more then willing to take her back to school, until she spoke the last part. "What's wrong is I have never changed the way I look just to get a woman. I might not go based on personality, but no woman I have ever gone for has changed herself in anyway. Thats the point Eden. You are changing. Guys are noticing that change. You want a man, whats wrong with getting in in your old clothes instead of these." Jett said taking a step closer as he flicked her shirt lightly. "These clothes are getting the guys not you." Jett said. Damn why was he being mean. She was pissing him off, annoying him thats why.

"I know you, Jettson Chen, and you were NOT just being friendly," Eden retorted. "You really wanna lie about needing more guy friends when you have half the football team? Probably all of the football team," Eden said. "And you and Cole have nothing in common. There is no way you'd single him out," she said. "You must have forgot who you were talking to because me of all people know your little act. I thought that things would finally be different but it seems that no matter what you're determined to give me a hard time," she said, pointing at him, her index finger against his chest.
Eden didn't like what he had to say about the way she looked. It annoyed her even more because it was all because of him. He was the one who first showed interest in her when she was wearing a dress and he was the one who had given her the need to hook up with other guys. There was no way she was going to go on not dating anyone while he dated every single girl in school. "I'm not even dressed slutty," she said. "I still had sneakers on yesterday and I would hardly call a denim skirt scandalous," she pointed out. Really, she was still probably dressing more conservatively than most girls but it was just still a stretch for her. "And how is it any of your business what I wear anyway?" she asked.
She sighed and shook her head. "I'm hungry," she murmured, crossing her arms across her chest once more and walking past him towards the refrigerator. She'd spent enough time at this house growing up that it didn't feel uncomfortable doing this. It felt normal and natural to go into the fridge without really asking. Inside was a bowl of strawberries. She grabbed one and took a bite.

"What makes you think Cole and I have nothing in common? He obviously likes to surf....I surf..thats one thing...and then there is you, thats another thing we have in common." Jett gave Eden the biggest smirk when he said that. It was a smile that said beat that point I just proved. Although Eden was right. Jett had singled Cole out more because of her, but she did not need to know that. When Eden placed her finger on his chest, he just smiled and dropped his voice to a husky voice, "If you wanted to touch me, you could have just asked."
"Nothing is wrong with how you dress. It's just different. Its not what you usually wear and its...its...I don't know." Jett said trying to think of exactly what he wanted to say. He knew what he wanted to say. He wanted to tell her to stop attracting other men, but that was not going to happen. Jett could never, ever admit that.
He watched her walk over and help herself to some food. Nothing new there. He followed her and grabbed a strawberry she had in her hand and ate it. "It is my business, because I am Jett and you are Eden and everything you do is my business and always will be, because its what we do. We butt into each others lives. its how we got to where we are today." Jett said with another smile. It was easier to have her see him smile then show any fear.

"You don't surf that much," Eden said a little lamely, still annoyed with Jett. "Me. So you're admitting you only bothered with him cause of he was into me?" she asked giving him a look. He was grinning and it annoyed her even more, mostly because despite how annoying he was being, she kind of wanted to hook up again but she knew that she couldn't make a move of he'd never let her live it down. It was as if whatever they were had turned into some big game and she wasn't sure that she liked it.
"Don't be a pig," she remarked when he mentioned her touching him. She shook her head and pushed some hair off her face. And then he started commenting on her clothes again but he didn't really have much to say about it. That made Eden smile as if she won one round. "Yeah, okay," she said simply, still smiling. "You like it and you know it," she added boldly, a little surprised that she'd even had the courage to say it.
"Oh really, that's how its always gonna be?" she asked. She grabbed the bowl of strawberries and placed them on the counter and pushed herself up on it so she was sitting next to it, her long legs dangling off the counter, her skirt riding up a little as she sat. Eden wasn't really used to wearing skirts let alone short skirts so she didn't really notice. She just grabbed another strawberry. "So basically no matter what I do, you're going to butt in?" Eden asked, giving him a look. He was still smiling and she couldn't help but smile too for some reason. "I'm never gonna get rid of you, huh?"

Cole sat on the grass just outside the school, basking in the sun. His mind drifted back to the previous night, and thoughts of Eden danced around in his head. He couldn't help but grin. She was fun, and Cole was hoping to get another chance to see her. He must have missed her at her locker in the morning, and she was equally as MIA at lunch. So he had to settle for his thoughts and hope to see her later in the day.
He decided waiting wasn't good enough for him, however, and pulled out his cell phone. He wasn't concerned about texting too soon or anything like that. Cole liked himself, and sometimes when a girl got in his head she'd be his entire focus. At least, until the next girl came along. But if a girl didn't like hearing from a guy the next day, well, then Cole could always find a girl who did. His fingers flew across the tiny keyboard as he typed a quick message and hit sent. He smiled, hoping to get a quick reply, and set the phone down on his stomach and waited. It was a solid plan, one he thought Eden would enjoy. The message read:
“Weather's great, surf and hang after?”
