Lily stared down into her coffee as she sat in the cafe, swirling the drink around with the little wooden mixer, bored. She wasn’t expecting to see anybody out and about at this time in the morning, not the night after the party. She had decided not to go; the state the school was in was still playing heavily on her mind. She didn’t want to worry about that now though, it was the weekend, she needed to have some fun and socialise. The few hundred dollars she had gathered from students and passers-by were sitting in her bucket underneath her bed at home; they’d be safe there for now.
All she wanted was some company, she didn’t really care who, just somebody to take her mind off of things. The fun of swirling her drink around was beginning to wear thin, and soon she’d drink it anyway. The cafe was practically empty, the staff looking very unenthusiastic to be there at the crack of dawn. Lily leant back, staring around the room and stretching her arms above her head, before checking her hair with her hands. She didn’t want to spend her day being so bored, someone had to appear.

[Character Jayson Michaels]
For those who knew Jay they would suspect he had not gone to bed yet. Why else would he be up in the morning. Jay was never up before noon, except for those rare days he made it to class. Well on this day the same was true. He had not been to sleep. Jay had skipped school the day before and slept in until 9pm. Then he went to the dance and had a good time. Needless to say he was not tired. He would probably crash by the afternoon. Sleep never came easy for Jay. He preferred getting no sleep. Nightmares had a way of rearing their ugly heads. He walked around town in need of coffee. He had just some from some womans hotel room and he was starving.
He smirked at the paper with the woman's number and pocketed it for later. He shook his head and smiled as he walked into a local cafe. He took off his sun glasses. He would be thankful to be heading back to Silver on Monday. Those weeks at Gould sucked. He looked around and walked up to the counter. He ordered a coffee, black and a cookie as well as croissant.
He waited for his order. As he did he scanned the cafe and his eyes settled on a pretty young thing in the corner. She looked familiar. He could have seen her any where. His guess would be school, but either way she was cute and lonely. His cue. He got his things and paid for his order and walked over. Jay did not even ask he just sat.
"Hey there pretty lady? What brings you out to play so early in the morning?"

Lily was broken from her trancelike state, looking around and collecting her thoughts as she looked across at Jayson, amazed that he dared to invade her personal space like this, but thankful for the company.
“Oh... just a little morning coffee, trying to wake myself up.” She replied, holding her cup up in front of the stranger’s face. She also recognised him from around the school, but she didn’t know his name. “Looks like you haven’t had any sleep to wake up from. Had a tough night?” Lily observed the drawn out expression on his face, he’d clearly had a heavy night and wasn’t anywhere close to recovering from it yet. Maybe he was drunk, that’d explain why he had the guts to try to talk to her so bluntly. His complement seemed to completely slide off her back, but Lily appreciated it.
“By the way, what’s your name? I’m Lily. I don’t think we’ve ever met. Which kind of makes me wonder why you’re sitting next to me in an almost empty cafe, but I won’t ask that.” Lily smirked, already knowing the answer but testing whether Jayson could take being put on the spot, especially in his current condition.

Jay laughed as she talked, "Are you always this perky in the morning." He smiled and sipped his coffee. He let her ramble for a bit. It was adorable. However, Lily seemed like a good girl. All the way from her appearance to her perky attitude. He did not know many people that could be so perky in the morning. Defiantly not him. He let her finished before taking another sip of coffee.
"What makes you think I had a hard night? It could have been a fun night that just so happen to have lasted into the morning." Jay winked. He had ha plenty of mights like that. "Something was hard about the night but I don't think it would be very gentlemanly of me to tell you." Jay laughed.
"Nice to meet you Lily. I am Jayson, but please just call me Jay. " He said and extended his hand. He did have manors after all. He was not completely a douche, even if he could act like one. "I am sitting here because I have coffee, you have coffee and it seemed like a good choice. Besides I never pass up the opportunity to talk to a nice girl just like you." He gave her a smooth smile. Put him on the spot all you wanted. Jay always had a comeback.
