Her kind? She hated that reference. This conversation had to go on her list of the most bizarre conversations ever had. In fact, it might actually top the list. She kind of figured the girl was hearing what she wanted to hear. But she wasn't going to bother to point out what it was that she was truly meaning by her statements. She really didn't see the need or the point. Let the girl think what she wanted.
Jem heard the buzz and she closed her notebook and her text book, but she didn't really make any other attempt to leave. For whatever reason she was kind of entranced by this conversation. She found rather amusing. Much more so, than anything she would be learning in her first period class.
"Me?" she almost laughed out loud. "Me a vampire? I don't think so. The whole....black, gloom and doom look? Yeah, that's not really me. I like a little more color in my life. And diet consisting mainly of blood? So, not going to work for me." she scrunched up her nose. "I think I'll take my chances as a mere mortal living among the undead." She had visions of Brad Pitt living off of rats in Interview with a Vampire because he didn't want to take blood from a living person. She shuddered at the mere thought.

“You don’t have to dress like me, you know. This is just what I like. I’ve seen vampires in pastel.” Sidra shrugged. Though she would require at least one E Nomine song a day. But really, was that too much to ask?
“And depending on which genre you want to follow, you can spend blood points to eat regular food. I personally think that’s weak, but whatever. World of Darkness did some interesting things with Vampires, they aren’t all accurate, mind, but interesting. And they DID try to put the horror back in the genre.” Another shrug. “It is, however, your choice. Which,” Si added, “is more than the wolves will ever give you. They lose control you know, when they change. Everything and everyone is just another object. Another meal. At least us Vampires keep our self respect and dignity.”
Leaning back in her chair, and running a thumb over the folded edge of her pamphlets, Sidra cocked her head to the side and sucked on her teeth for a second as she pondered her next move. She’d pitched her anti-wolf movement to the girl, put up fliers which would likely get around in short order, and had several more pamphlets to pass out during lunch. Shame she wasn’t taking any speech classes, she could have used it as a way to further her movement.
“Do you really want to stay mortal? What can you change if you’re just human?”

Was that supposed to really make her jump on the bandwagon? Ok, so she could still dress as she pleases. Great. That didn't do much to change all the other aspects of being Vampire that she did not find all that appealing.
"Which Genre? Good lords, how many genre's of vampires could there possibly be?" Wasn't it all pretty much the same thing? They drank blood, they couldn't die. Unless staked in the heart or something. Right? Sun burnt them, didn't it? They couldn't enter homes without being invited in first. Hmm...she pondered a moment where she had acquired this knowledge. Whether it be accurate or not. "Blood points? For food? What do they give you a little card and if you get so many stamps..or would this be fang bites? Then you get a real meal?"
"Do I really want to live forever?" she asked. "I don't think I do. Sure, never aging, never having to grow old or anything would have some perks. But...really. Living forever...and never truly experiencing what is like to 'LIVE'. Being mortal to you may seem like..the worst option there is. But...to me. It has it's pros and cons. I would take living at it's worst over...being immortal."
