[Character name: Ezzie Lopez]
[Location: By her locker]
To say Ezzie had been her self for the past week would be a lie. She was not Ezzie right now. Ezzie was on vacation somewhere and who knew when she was coming back. She would be back eventually, but right now Ezzie was still dealing with the death of her sister. It still hurt. Sure it had been a week, but that did not help her get over the death. Sometimes it seemed like just yesterday and other times it seemed like a lifetime ago. Either way, things were still tense at home and that did not help. Her mother had taken to crying all day. Ezzie's dad was buried in work and the kids were just there.
Ezzie was in charge of packing up Sierra's room. Or rather her side of the room. Her mother was so depressed she wanted the room to look like a shrine, yet Ezzie's father wanted the room packed up. So far Ezzie had yet to touch Sierra's side of the room. She left it alone. Ezzie had also been mistaken for Sierra a few times. Her mom was going crazy. She would randomly call Ezzie Sierra. Usually when she was very distraught. It did not help at all. One day she was Ezzie and the next she was Sierra. It did not help anyone.
So Ezzie took to changing for now. She no long wore bright colors or crazy clothes. Her hair was fully black. The streaks were gone. For now she was just a plain Jane. Which was not like Ezzie at all, but right now she just wanted to be invisible. To many people asked Are you Okay? How do you Feel? How is your family? Stupid questions not worthy of answers. How do you think she feels. It hurts. It still hurts, but no one got it. So Ezzie tried to blend in. She walked to her locker. She wore plain jeans and a plain t-shirt. Nothing fancy at all. She did what most other people were doing. She opened her locker and got her books. Nothing special.
