Listening to Saint speak, Jonah shook his head quietly. Of course he knew Liz liked him. Both of them loved each other even; they had been through a lot of rough shit together, it warranted some form of relationship status that was beyond friendship. But Saint was not the cause of what had just happened to Liz. If it wasn't Saint, it would have been some other person. Liz was unbelievably possessive when it came to Jonah and he understood, in ways. "I swear, it's not your fault." Jonah said, squeezing Saint's hand in return.
Jonah looked on as Coco did what she was trained to do. He was impressed by the dog's intelligence and it served as a calming agent as he tried to reassure himself that Liz was going to be fine and by the time he went back to her, she'd be fine and calm.
He took a deep breath and let it go slowly before turning to Saint when he asked a question. "Pizza. Do you mind if we get personal pizzas? I'm pretty hungry." Jonah chuckled as they finally caught sight of Saint's house. "You think anyone's at home?" He knew Jandro was Saint's brother but he just felt as though the younger guy really hated him so he didn't want to make it any worst by bringing Saint home after playing hooky.

Even knowing Jonah was right, Saint still felt guilty about Liz. He could have been less bristly or something. "Pizzas are fine, Domino's probably still has that three ten-inch for 5.55 deal where you can get all the toppings you want. But we usually order from Abbots, they have the best pizza ever, more than worth the extra cost. I have enough for a couple of pies from there, if you want the best," It was clear that Saint was rooting for Abbots.
Jonah grinned and nodded. "Yeah. Sure. Abbots sounds fine." He had never heard of the place before. But then again he had never heard of a lot of places because he restricted his movements around his own neighbourhood and now, Saint's home. "I guess you should do the ordering. I've...never been there before."
"There is a menu in the drawer under the microwave. I don't know what you like to eat so you should pick your own. I will have a wild mushroom with alfredo sauce instead of pesto and a poppy seed crust. Also a six pack of Mango Madness Snapple. I love that stuff. Get whatever you want to drink too," Saint said and continued out of the kitchen to go search for his stash, hoping his hands would remember where to go.
"Promise me you'll call out to me if you need any help, okay?" Jonah squeezed Saint's arm before going to the kitchen to find the menu. When he did, he browsed down the menu and decided what he wanted and called the number stated on the menu. With the order done and the promise of a hasty delivery, Jonah looked around for Saint.
Saint was in his bedroom with his rug rolled back, Coco sniffing his face worriedly as he reached under his bed trying to find the board that was loose and held his hiding place. "I know its under here. Mom couldn't have fixed it without knowing about it," he muttered and sneezed.
Hearing the sneeze, Jonah entered Saint's room and found him halfway under his bed, his butt poking out a little. For a moment, Jonah didn't make a sound as he stared. He didn't remember the last time he had really stared at a guy this way. Jonah couldn't deny that Saint was skinny but looking at the other boy in this angle was doing things to Jonah. So he just kept quiet and waited until Saint could realise his presence himself.
Jonah had to give out an amused chuckle when Saint made the little noise and came back out with his stash. When Saint got up and finally realised he was there, Jonah cleared his throat. "Yep. Sorry I didn't say anything earlier. I'm not trying to be creepy or anything." He gave a small chuckle.
"It's ok, everyone should experience being stalked once. I am just glad you're my stalker," Saint said, obviously teasing. He moved carefully towards Jonah, afraid of running into him. His hands met Jonah's chest and stayed there as he stepped closer to stand against him. "Jonah? I have been getting the feeling that this might be more than friendship, but I don't want to offend you if that's not how you feel."
The thinly veiled compliment worked well on Jonah and he found his cheeks burning. He was really glad Saint could not see him right then. When Saint's hand pressed against his chest, Jonah's eyes fluttered close as goosebumps ran up and down his spine. His hand reached up and for a moment, he wanted it off him and he was tempted to yank it away but he couldn't deny how good it felt so he squeezed Saint's hand and smiled. "I'm...not good with words, Santos but this is okay."
Saint stilled, trying to hear the nuances of Jonah's words. It was so hard not being able to see anyone's expressions. "This is okay? But not any farther? I can go slow if that's what you want, but I want to know how careful I should be," he said, worried by something he could hear in Jonah's voice and feel vibrating between them. He was glad his glasses hid most of his expression, because he was terrified he had gone and fallen in love again with someone that didn't feel the same way.
He bristled at the question and for a long while, Jonah didn't answer. He had never been this...attached to one person, especially someone like Saint. Normally he would avoid the guys who wore too much make-up or had on too much black. It wasn't so much of an insult rather than just his preference. But Saint was different. Really different. How was he supposed to tell all this to Saint without insulting him somehow? "I'm sorry, Santos. I really am. I guess I just...this...I'm not used to this."
Saint stepped back and took his hands with him. "I don't want to make you uncomfortable. If you can forget this happened that would be great. I will do my best not to make you uncomfortable again," he said, smiling slightly so Jonah wouldn't think he was angry. He was, but it was at himself. He had probably ruined their friendship by assuming Jonah was feeling the same way he was.
Jonah grabbed Saint's hand and pulled him close. He placed his hand on Saint's shoulder, leaving a little space between them. "I didn't say I was uncomfortable with it. And I sure as hell didn't ask you to stop. I'm just telling you I'm not used to it. And it would take a whole lot of...practice. and a whole lot of getting used to." A smile snaked its way on to Jonah's face.
The relief that hit Saint was so intense he almost felt nauseous with the weight of it. He really wished he could see Jonah's expression, so he did the next best thing and brought his fingers up to feel the position of his lips. The fact that he was smiling was another relief and there was no tension so it wasn't forced. "You must be so damned cute," he whispered and brought their lips together for a gentle yet intense kiss.
The kiss surprised Jonah and he immediately pushed Saint away. The hurt look displayed on Saint's face was evident even with his glasses on. "I'm...I'm sorry. I'm really...I really have never done...fuck I'm sorry." Jonah shook his head of his inhibitions and cupped Saint's cheeks in his hand and pushed his lips onto Saint's surprisingly soft ones. After awhile, Jonah relaxed against the kiss and tilted his head slightly to deepen the kiss. A faint moan vibrated between their mouths.
Saint felt his emotions flip flop so fast that he almost passed out. His fingers tightened on Jonah's shoulders to keep from toppling over and then he kissed Jonah back a bit more cautiously than before. He reached up and pulled off his glasses so they wouldn't hurt Jonah's cheeks. He didn't even think of using his tongue, way too worried how Jonah would react.
Jonah felt Saint pulling back and he shook her head tightly. "No." He simply said before pulling him closer, his arm wrapping around Saint's tapered waist. Jonah ran one hand through Saint's hair, settling on the back of Saint's neck. The former boy's thumb drawing little circles on the soft skin.
Just as he was about to make it a lot more interesting for the both of them, the doorbell rang shrilly throughout the house.
"Aw fuck reliable service," Saint muttered, putting his glasses back on as he headed for the front door. He hoped his frustrated state wasn't too obvious by the tented state of his jeans. He almost flung open the door as Coco woofed at him to remind him to find out who it was first. Saint realized he really couldn't manage this alone and he handed his money to Jonah, backing away.
Leaning back against the wall, Jonah's heavy breathing indicated how much the kiss had really effected him. He looked down and was glad he was wearing dark jeans. Raking his fingers through his hair, he joined Saint outside and took the money from him and completed the transaction. Thankfully the guy was too stoned to notice their unkempt hair and flushed faces. "Keep the change." Jonah said before slamming the door shut. "I'll pay you back." Jonah said to Saint before sliding the pizza boxes and drinks on to the nerest table before grabbing Saint and leaned him against the wall. He placed both hands on the sides of Saint's head and smiled. "Where were we...?"
Saint heard the smile and returned it. "Halfway to heaven I believe," he said huskily. He hadn't felt this way for a couple of years and he couldn't help but feel totally on top of the world. "I could kiss you forever, Jonah. Or at least until my sibs get home. He knew it wouldn't be wise making out in front of Jandro who had become rather belligerent in the last week.
Saint's cheesy line made Jonah smile and just as he was about to kiss the other boy again, Saint's words made Jonah freeze right as their lips were about to touch. He knew Saint would be able to feel it and know something was wrong. Forever? Jonah did not do forever. Forever was not a good word in his vocabulary. Jonah backed away, his arms dropping to his side. "No..." he whispered. He kept walking back and when he was a considerable distance away from Saint, he gulped and breathed heavily. He didn't know what to do. His heart was beating faster than he was used to.
Shoving his hands deep into his pocket and grabbed a few wads of cash and dropped it on top of the pizza box. "No." He shook his head and without thinking any further, he got out of the house without turning back.
Saint stared sightlessly at the door where Jonah had disappearedIt took him almost fifteen minutes before he could move and then he only took himself into his room where he kicked his rug back into place and threw himself on the bed. He spent the rest of the day not staring at the ceiling and there was nothing Lia or Jandro could do after they got home to get him out of his deep funk.
