OOC: As a reminder, here is our cast list! Sadly, our Liat went missing, so if anyone wants to audition for her go for it! And anyone who wants to be an extra, just jump in. ^_^
Female Ngana - Haley Ensign Nellie Forbush - Trixie Bloody Mary - Marrianne Chatham Liat - Nurses/French Girls - Riley, Julia
Male Jerome - Wynn Emile de Becque - Eddie Luther Billis - DJ Joe Cable - Jeremy Seabees/Sailors - Cameron, Greg
BIC: Julia sat in the front row of red, plastic seats in the choir room, twirling her number two pencil restlessly. She couldn't believe she had managed to get in, even as an extra -- she'd been convinced that she would be immediately rejected. However, it appeared that not that many people had actually bothered to audition, so every last person had been cast. She wasn't sure what that was going to do for the quality of the show, but decided that it would be an experience regardless, so she didn't really care.
She was very glad, also, to have her brother with her, particularly as it turned out that Haley, Wynn and Cameron were all part of the production. Ugh, she couldn't escape! She had managed to (mostly) forget how hurt the three of them and their stupid love entanglements had made her, first because of Connor -- though lately she'd seen little enough of him, as he had abandoned her to go traipsing off with some boy she hadn't met yet. She tried not to be jealous, but it was so hard! -- and then because of Daniel, who was very amusing in his willingness to pretend he was one of Elrond's sons. But now that she was to be sharing the same space as them, she knew how difficult it would be to pretend she didn't still have feelings for Wynn, or that she wasn't bitterly envious of Haley and the power she held over men.
She listened breathlessly as drama teacher Ms. Griffith introduced them to their choreographer, a young girl just out of college named Samantha Podojhil, and then requested that Wynn and Haley go off with Mrs. Kirk, the choir teacher, to practice their duet. Julia attempted to repress the jelaousy that threatened to swallow her knowing that Wynn would be alone with Haley; no, not alone! They had Mrs. Kirk with them. And Haley was dating Cameron, and anyway, Wynn wasn't hers so she had no right to care at all. None. She leaned over to the person beside her as Ms. Griffith began handing out scripts. "Are you nervous?" She whispered.

The day seemed to fly by, which for Eddie was a very good thing. He was looking forward to the beginning of rehearsals since he was cast, and the extra week had been excruciatingly long. But, here he was, about to enter the choir room for his first rehearsal! He tried to calm himself and entered the room. A quick glance showed a lot of faces that he was starting to recognize, but few people he actually knew. Mom hadn't arrived yet, but he saw Julia sitting in the front row, watching another group of students. Eddie quickly and quietly took a seat next to her. He almost spoke to her, but she seemed so absorbed in her own thoughts he decided not to interrupt.
After a few minutes, she leaned over to him, staring at the teacher handing out the scripts, and asked if he was nervous. Eddie smiled wryly, leaned over to her just as she had done to him, and whispered right in her ear. “Not really, but I'm guessing you are.”
Eddie laughed. He often times enjoyed his own jokes more than others did, but that was okay with him. “Glad to see you made it in the play. I think we're going to have a ton of fun with this!”

Danny's never generous patience began to wear thin after a week of not seeing Julia and having no idea if his presents had pleased his beloved Julia or not. He decided he would go to her house and see if he could find out anything about what was going on in her mind and heart.
Arriving at the Warner residence, Danny was just in time to see Julia leave for rehearsal. He sighed and set aside his bow and the arrow to which he had attached a long and heartfelt love poem which he had intended to let fly through her bedroom window and instead set his chauffeur to following Julia.
When they arrived at the school, Danny snuck into the auditorium and found a place where he could see the happenings. It was really rather interesting with all the comings and goings.

Riley was sitting in the choir, ready for her first rehearsal of South Pacific. She had been a little disappointed that she was only an extra but she was still new to this school. Maybe next year when she knew more people and the teachers knew her better she'd have a better shot of a role. Riley knew she was a good singer but she also wasn't full of herself so although she had been a little disappointed she wasn't about to throw a fit or quit or anything, even though that's what Jasper had told her to do.
Looking around the room, Riley realized she didn't know anyone else that was doing the play. That made her both nervous and a little excited. Riley had really been trying to expand her social horizons but it was so hard sometimes with Jasper, being well Jasper. Every time she made what she thought was a new friend, her brother would often ruin the relationship. If Riley had any idea that he did this on purpose she'd have been furious, but Riley was sort of blind when it came to her brother and believe that although he talked big, he'd never really hurt anyone and that everything he did was always to protect her. Maybe that part was true, but the rest, well she was probably really naive about things when it came to him.
Still, Jasper wasn't doing the play which gave Riley a chance to get to know some new people on her own. This was a good thing. She overheard the people next to her talking...about being nervous. Should she butt in? She was pretty sure it wasn't an exclusive conversation. She smiled and leaned forward to join in. "I guess I'm a little nervous," she admitted, although it was more so because she didn't know anyone than the actual preforming part of it. "What parts are you guys playing?" she asked.

Julia wished she could say the same as Eddie; but no, she was terrifically nervous about the whole thing. "I am!!" She admitted, toying with her pencil. "I've never been in a play before! That's Jere's thing!!" She dropped her pencil, and watched in quiet despair as it rolled across the floor. Ack! She couldn't very well get up and fetch it without calling attention to herself, and she was rather terrified of the short, squat drama teacher. She could already envision Ms. Griffith shouting at her for moving from her chair. "Yeah, can't believe I made it in, there must not've been enough people interested or something." She confessed. After all, her audition had been nothing short of abysmal; even Connor hadn't been able to deny that.
She glanced over at the blonde girl who had joined in on their conversation; she had to remind herself that not all drop-dead gorgeous blondes deserved her hatred. "Just an extra." Brown eyes darted over to Eddie. They hadn't really talked since the audition; she had no idea what part he'd actually gotten. "What about you?" She addressed this in general, to both Eddie and the unknown girl. What was the other girl's name, anyway? Julia didn't think she knew her, which made her feel a little bit bad. "Umm, my name's Julia." She offered, "Julia Warner. Are you in drama?" If she was then maybe she knew Jeremy; that was, until quite recently, how she usually knew people. After all, Jeremy was the popular, party-going twin. She was the nerdy, weird twin. But apparently the new year was looking up, because the nerdy, weird one was finally managing to talk to people on her own, which was good, as her protector and socializer was too busy with his boyfriend to spend as much time with her. She supposed that she couldn't rely on him forever; he was allowed to have his own life apart from her.
"...they don't kick people out once you've got in, do they?"

Eddie couldn't help but smile at how squirrely Julia was acting. He could barely remember the first time he was in a play, his mom had volunteered him at such a young age it seemed almost secondhand to him anymore, but he remembered being nervous on certain occasions. His first big role outside of high school was quite nerve-wracking at first, and that was just over a year ago. That had ended very well for him, though, and the two shows he has been in since were both larger roles and his nerves are not a problem anymore.
The stray pencil wasn't too far from Eddie, so it only took a few quick steps and a stretch for him to retrieve it for Julia. “Jere's your brother, right?” he asked as he handed her the yellow rod. It had barely been over a week since the two had hung out, but it seemed like an eternity had passed since then. “I'm sure your audition wasn't that bad. Ms. Griffith obviously saw something in you to give you a role.”
Another voice spoke up, and Eddie's eyes were drawn to a very pretty little blonde. She looked more like the cheerleader type than a drama kid, but he wasn't about to complain. He was inwardly thankful he decided to wear a nice black polo instead of some ratty t-shirt today. He extended his arm across Julia and smiled to the new girl. “Hi, I'm Edward. Or Eddie. I'm playing Emile de Becque.” Eddie felt comfortable when he was in a play, and with that comfort brought confidence. He felt better than he had since he moved, and he was ready to start the rehearsal process. Being the lead also helped boost his ego a bit. “How about you, what'd you get? You don't happen to be my Nellie, do you?” Eddie grinned, and somewhere deep inside he hoped she was. One of the perks of theatre was that sometimes you got to kiss very pretty girls you normally wouldn't get to.
“No, Julia, I don't think they'll kick you out unless you are really a screw-up. Like, you skip a bunch of rehearsals or something. As long as you participate, and I know you'll do fine, they won't give you the boot!” Eddie ran a hand through his hair. He probably should have gotten a hair cut, but it was too late now that he was cast. He hoped they didn't want him to have any facial hair. He could grow a little, but it most definitely didn't look right, and he hated having to use spirit gum. He had red marks on his forehead for what seemed like an eternity after having to wear some horns for another show. He unconsciously rubbed that spot on his forehead. “Do either of you know who does costumes for the high school show, and if they're any good?”

"Oh, I'm just an extra too," Riley said to the brunette girl next to her. She was glad that she'd found a fellow extra. It made her feel less lame. "I'm Riley Hastings," she said when the girl introduced herself. She didn't know who either of the people were that she was speaking to so she considered it an introduction to both of them. Really, Riley had only been at Silver about a month so it wasn't a surprise that she didn't really know many people.
"No...I'm not in the drama club or anything like that. I haven't been in LA too long so I'm still getting settled--figured the play would be fun though...a way to get to know some people better I guess," she said with a shrug. After all, Riley couldn't name one person in the room. She took that to be a very bad thing. At her old school she'd known every single person, but then again at her old school she'd not only been one of the popular girls but it had also been a much smaller school given than it was private.
Once they'd come back into money thanks to Jazz's trust fund, he'd offered to enroll them into private school but Riley had wanted to stay put. Switching schools smack in the middle of the year had been traumatic enough without doing it twice. Really, all Riley wanted to do was return to a normal life.
"It's nice to meet you both though," Riley said, smiling at the pair. They seemed to know each other already. She wondered if everyone in the play already knew one another. "I have no idea who has what parts," she admitted. "I don't think my audition was the best I've ever given though," she admitted to the girl, Julia, who seemed especially nervous. "I doubt they'd kick us extras out though," she added with a smile, hoping to comfort the girl who seemed more nervous that she was, "they need us. Who knows maybe if one of the main people sucks they'll even ask you to fill in," she said with a grin.
She looked over at the boy, Eddie, when he asked about the costumes. "I really don't know who does them," she said. "I was thinking about volunteering though, since I don't have a big role. I love sewing and all that," she admitted, "I even have my own machine." She could have added that she'd made the very dress she was wearing but she left that out. Although Riley could always afford whatever she wanted she kind of liked making or customizing her own thing. It made her feel more unique.

Wynn entered the choir room, he saw Julia sitting there looking nervous. He had no idea she had made the show, now that Haley was behind him things would be much more smooth.
He found a seat with the others. "Hey, looks like a decent turn out for the show." He dug around his bag for a pencil. "Never think of yourself as 'just an extra' everyone brings something to a show to make it better. Ms. Griffith will explain more about that when we do circle." He felt like he was talking riddles to people who were probably clueless to everything.
"I already know Julia," he smiled slightly talking about her. "But I'm not sure if I know who you two are." Indicating Riley and Eddie.
"Help is always welcomed with costumes, most of the time we rummage through what we have then the head costumer, who ever that is this time, will do a scavenger hunt for what else is needed." This much he knew from past experience.
When he was told to go off and get ready for his duet with Haley, he didn't know what to think. Would Haley still be angry at him for his comments a few nights earlier.

"Ah, yeah." Julia confirmed. "He's supposed to be Joe Cable," She offered, scanning the choir room nervously, wondering why Jeremy hadn't shown up yet. Ms. Griffith had already marked him absent, drafting Greg to play his part when they read through later. It wasn't like him to miss a rehearsal! Where could he be? Gah! If this was due to his stupid relationship....! He couldn't possibly ditch his passion for acting for some boy, could he?! That was ridiculous! She told herself that she would never have ditched any activity for a boy, but she wasn't entirely convinced by her own assertion.
She felt relief wash over her when Riley confessed to also being a mere extra. She had been convinced that anyone so gorgeous would surely be one of the main parts. "It's nice to meet you!" She offered, "Omigod, two new people!" She looked from Riley to Eddie. "Yeah, Jere is always off going to cast parties or whatever, so I guess that's kind of like....a good way to meet people?" Wow, she felt really stupid right now, but she was so nervous she was running at the mouth.
"I dunno!" She admitted when Eddie asked about costuming. "Usually it's people's parents and stuff, I think." Fortunately Wynn stepped up, confirming her guesses as mostly accurate. "Yeah, ask him." She giggled, both pleased that someone more knowledgable had joined and more than a little nervous; she hadn't talked to Wynn in weeks. "He's an old hand at this theater thing." She giggled, feeling her face grow red and hating herself for it.

"I'm Riley," she said, introducing herself to Wynn, the new boy who joined their group. He looked kind of nerdy but Riley didn't really care. Sure, she had always been on the more popular side of the social spectrum, especially in her old school, but she'd never been one of those girls who was super pretentious about it or anything. She didn't care if someone was a nerd or not. She might not be their best friend in the end, mostly because Riley had found she rarely had much in common with the nerdier students, but she had no problem socializing with them and being cordial.
"Oh, so you're new too?" she asked, the other boy when the girl, Julia had mentioned them both being new. "How long have you been here? I moved to LA maybe a little over a month ago," she said. "So I guess I'm not too new but I feel pretty new," she explained, pushing some of her hair behind her ear.
"Ah, so that's how it works," Riley nodded. She'd helped out with costumes a bit in the productions her previous school had put on, but her previous school had also been a very wealthy private school where very wealthy families sent their kids so for the most part they would pay a professional to make the costumes. Riley had gotten to help a bit in the designing of them though which had been cool. "I'll have to find out who's in charge of it though...perhaps with my sewing skills I could still help out...even if its just altering stuff," she said. She figured being just an extra she'd have more time on her hands at rehearsals that the students with the lead parts. If she was working on costumes too it would help keep her busy at least.
